  • Perfectly: Steve met with us and took measurements for the areas we wanted covered with wood flooring and carpeting. We met his wife, Linda, at their store front in Bellevue and looked at samples that she had selected for us that met our desires for quality, style and price. Linda prepared the quote that was acceptable to us and ask for a 50% deposit. Steve's Floor Covering has been in business in Bellevue for 25 years so we had no qualms with the deposit. We provided a desired timeframe for installation and Steve accepted. Work commenced on time, and proceeded as scheduled. I provided a number of suggestions during the process and Steve met all our desires. We are completely satisfied with the finished product, would gladly use them again and highly recommend them to anyone needing their services.

  • Mike did a wonderful job.  He cleaned out the old grout and filled in the spots with new materials.  We were lucky to have the original color so he could match it.  Our shower looks like new again.  He was prompt, professional and courteous.

    1. One day, when I came home to see how the job was progressing during my lunch break, I caught the owner, Aaron Shaul, sitting on the couch in my living room eating his lunch. I wasn't sure if that was a normal thing that contractors do while they work on residential homes, but I didn't give him permission nor he asked, and I certainly was uncomfortable seeing him being comfortable eating lunch in my living room.
    Secondly, dry walls were performed by a couple of Mexican people who didn't speak any English. I caught them washing plasters off their equipment on my lawn on the side of the house, leaving big white chunks all over. They didn't even try to clean up. Since they didn't understand English I had to call Aaron and asked him to ask them to wash their equipment in the driveway, not on the lawn and to clean the mess after they were done. 
    And lastly, 4 years later it was found that the electric circuit in my house was not grounded by the home inspector I hired. All electrical outlets Cornerstone put throughout the basement were three prong one instead of two prong. Home inspector said if they performed electrical job they should have known that they should have put 2 prong outlets instead of 3 prong one or just ground it. But they failed to do so.
    Also some of the new electrical outlets they put in were so wobbly and the face plates sunk in all the way when I plugged the cord. 
    Aaron was very nice and friendly, but overall experience with the company was not very good one for me.

  • Mike from Grout Medic was very responsive, punctual, and clean.  Three of the top four things I look for in a contractor.  He did everything he said he would do, and showed up on time when he said he would be there.  After he was finished, it was as clean as ever.  The only thing I wish was that he had a military discount.  The price was a tad expensive, but I would call him again in a heartbeat.

  • Work quality was good, but the drywall was not paint ready. Even after significant sanding (and some patching of holes the were left untouched), the transition between drywall to mud is noticable. Now that it is painted I'm pretty much stuck with it. It's overall good drywall work, but just not perfect. Considering the hours I put into sanding, primer, and paint, its a shame it doesn't look perfect.
    Cermaic tile looks fantastic. There was a little bit of difficulty installing the toilet since the tile was installed too close to the toilet setting. The plumber had to chip away at the tile to get the screws in place.
    The low punctuality/professionalism score is based on the difficulty in getting Mr. Maggett to schedule an appointment and to keep it. 6 weeks prior to wanting the job done I spoke with him and told him when I wanted the job complete. I provided a 10 day span. He told me he couldn't schedule out that far and to call back at the end of the month. After sevaral phone calls, and still not being given a firm date of when the work would be started or complete, he finally suggested when he would be available. This changed frequently. It seemed like he had something more important going on to such an extent that he could never actually schedule an appointment with us. It would be another project, last minute church needs, traveling out of town and so on. I think all these things are great and deserve a place above work, but schedule appointments around these things. Don't just never schedule anything and say you'll make it if you can make it (and then call that evening to apologize for not showing up).
    So what should have taken less than 2 weeks took over 2 months (to be fair, a 3 day delay was a plumbing issue and not his fault. The other 6 weeks or so are inexplicable). It's been over a month since the job was done, and its still frustrating how long it took.
    All this being said, he charged less than half anyone else would have based on quotes. And when he was at the house he worked hard and did a good job. If you have the paitence, I recommend him if you are tight on your budget. If you want the job done within 2 months of starting, strongly consider going elsewhere, or at least ddemanding scheduled appointments well in advance and do not accept and quot;no showsand quot; to those appointments. Just fire him early and move on to someone more expensive who can commit to one job at a time.

  • They had a wonderful carpenter, Jason, who did absolutely an outstanding job. He was great. I had a pretty good experience with them. The big thing was when they came out, Bob was the guy who came out and did the estimate, and he really had his stuff together. He brought out all his insurance papers and everything like that, so everything was visible and there was no problem. Then, Jason, his carpenter came out and he did the whole thing, except for the minor plumbing and the electricity we had, they had subcontractors do that and they were good too. So, they are an outstanding company.

  • I would do nothing here and would not even get a quote from them; I will never use them again. I turned in a claim on them because they would not help me on anything. I did not like anything about them. They were the highest price, did the crappiest work and they did not do anything about it.
