We couldn't have asked for a better outcome. Had Craig stop by for an estimate, and because his schedule was open, he met with us the following day to pick out pavers and nursery stock. The second day his crew showed up on time and completed the large project in two and half days. We were very happy with the workmanship. Always friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend and will use for future needs. You may be able to get a lower estimate from someone else, but more often that not, you get what you pay for...

We are so pleased with Roots for doing a thorough and professional job at a reasonable price. They were easy to get a hold of for all of our questions and equipped us with plenty of information for the care and maintenance of the hydroseeding. Matt knows everything about the business and I will trust him with more projects in the future!

Thanks to James my backyard was transformed from a dreadful blah area to my own private haven. I have received so many compliments about the fence form neighbors walking by and my friends absolutely love to come over and lounge with me in my new backyard sanctuary. I will definitely be calling James again for any work that I need done, he seems to do it all. He as nice, polite, prompt and most importantly affordable!

The fall lawn treatment and shrub cleanup were done well. There were issues with fall cleanup though. First, it took an additional call to have it done, because, apparently, he forgot about our conversation. Second, we received the bill for services about 6 months later when I already forgot the details of our deal. Poor record maintenance, I suppose. On a positive note, I saw him cleaning the snow for the neighbors and he was doing by far the best job.

The initial meeting at our house went well. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. The next step was to meet to go over their plan, which they insisted was best performed at their offices since they would have various product samples to show us. We arrived at their office a few minutes early, but the rep was running about ten minutes late. He was in the office, just running late. He went over the plan with us, which was wonderfully drawn and had some great ideas. Unfortunately, he spent most of the time talking at us, and not really engaging us in the conversation. When the subject of samples of paver bricks came up, he indicated his preference was a brick, style and color, that he was using on another project and would be able to combine orders. We were left with the impression that he wanted to use that brick simply because it would be easier, and perhaps cheaper. As for seeing samples, he left the room and returned with one, dusty, brick paver. He literally poured some water on it from his water bottle and tried to wipe it off to show us how it would really look; we took time off from work and travelled to their office to see their great selection of samples, one dusty brick. At least he left us a copy of their plan; no names of plants or prices, but our $300 got us a pretty drawing. The next step was a meeting to go over pricing and a plant list. A couple of weeks went by while he got the numbers together, and of course he wanted to meet in their office again. This time, after a few discussions, I got him to send the cost estimate (although without the plant list) to me via e-mail. Even that was delivered a few days later than promised. After that, we got the impression that our job just wasn't large enough for them to spend too much time on. Communication was not forthcoming and we eventually told them we had selected another landscaper. Finally, if our job was too small, fine. I fully understand that a large company with lots of overhead may have to be choosy about their projects. But if that's the case, just tell me so I don't waste my time or the company's time. I'm just glad that I worked with four different companies to get landscaping quotes, and was able to compare the different customer experiences, along with the different quotes.
