Landscaping reviews in Mandan

  • We are so pleased with Roots for doing a thorough and professional job at a reasonable price. They were easy to get a hold of for all of our questions and equipped us with plenty of information for the care and maintenance of the hydroseeding. Matt knows everything about the business and I will trust him with more projects in the future!

  • I called the gentleman to set-up an appointment. He informed me on a Friday he would be over the following week (which was over two months ago). When he didn't show up, I called him again (two weeks from the original call) and spoke with a woman. She said he would come over and look at my property. Still no call. He might do great work, but I'll never know. No phone calls back, no estimates...nothing.

  • I first tried to get a quote on removing a large tree by filling out their form online, after waiting a couple of weeks and not hearing back I gave up there.
I made the initial phone call on Apr 9th and arranged for someone to come out and give me quote on removing the tree.
They called back on Apr 13th with a quote and said that they would mail out a paper quote for me to sign and return.
I finally called them back on Apr 28th after not receiving quote they said oops we will get that sent out.
I did get it and sent it back to them the next week.
I then called them back on May 15th after no one had called to schedule anything with me and they said someone would call me next week.
Then, I did get a call at around 8pm on May 18th saying they would be there tomorrow morning.
So, then they did finally show up that morning almost 6 weeks after my initial call.  A large crew showed up with several vehicles and they did a very fast and efficient job removing the tree and cleaned up well afterwards.  I had gone inside to wait and was surprised when they all just left, no courtesy of knocking on my door to tell me they were all finished up or even give me a final bill.
So, then I went outside to look around and every looked good except there was a new gouge in my steel siding that clearly appeared to have been made by a large tree branch.  I haven't decided if I am going to call them back on that yet as I am not sure it is worth the hassle that I know it will be if I try to get them to do anything about it.
So, overall the tree removal was done very quickly, but their communication was terrible.  I am still waiting for a final invoice.

  • First getting them their was half the battle, just like any service before they start they require half up front.  Which wasnt the problem, getting them after was the problem.  Quality of work from begining to end demishes, and then by the end the product is absolutly horrible.  Then they bill, for the final work, which isnt what you asked for.  Along not competely finishing the dirt work came in and seeded, which did not take, so had them do it again which they wanted to charge for.  Again did not take, along with not cleaning up hydro seed after finished it was on house sidewalks, and in rocks.  I will have to have somone else come in and finish this year.

  • Shoddily and poorly.  I viewed them provide their "service", which was sloppily done.  Also, as my mother is recently widowed, they[MJM[ (Margie, the proprietor) surely premeditate taking advantage of her.  They alleged at the time of contract, that four workers would manage the cleanup; however when the service was happening there were three at the most and more often than not two, as the third came and went w/ a pickup truck which in no way removed any refuse from this property.  I know this ,as I watched them in expectation that they were providing the service alleged.  They certainly did no such thing. Their application of weed& feed was irregular and lacking in coverage ( careless apathy), as were their other services.
Ultimately, they over-charged my mother my $10.00.  This was allegedly some "mistake", however when my mother called them 6 weeks after receiving their bill and noting the over-charge, Margie (some Queen of her own definition), the proprietor, alleged the over-charge would be forthcoming in the form of a check.  After seven months I called MJM on her behalf to request the wrong be righted.  They said they would cut a check and it would be arriving shortly.  This never came to be.  I believe she(Marjie) never had any intention of repaying the overcharge.  Seven months!.....any other business or entity who was due any amount and did not receive it within 7 months would surely anticipate late charges.  I have called this fradulent b....h twice and know she has never had any intention of integrity.  Absolution is never more that 6 days away for these ND papists, which they assume as a kind of permission to continue their self-centered and fraudulent ways.  The $ amount is not the issue.  It is a principal based on integrity.   If one lacks either of these qualitite they have no right to be in any business of any kind.
In my call today I left a voicemail stating I expected the check to be forthcoming within 7 days or I would speak w/ the ND attorney general.  I am unable to financially afford a private attorney and $10.00 is hardly justifieable to persue.
                                                                                                                         Respectfully yours,
Wesley J. Wolff for Ms. Ilo Wolff        01/14/2014   4:20  CST
Thank-you for your time and help in righting this wrong.  My papist reference, whether it offends you or not, is a North Dakota reality in its' ugliest and most clicquish form.

  • Owner of company has stopped over and has offered repair the remaining damaged areas and do some additional work to compensate me for my labor and expenses.  I think it was a generous offer and will update more when the work is completed.  If the work is completed as promised I will be happy with the final restoration and service.

Owner had his guy come over and do some work around some of my trees for compensation for the work I had to do because of the above problems.  They put new lawn edging around three trees and put new decorative stone around trees.  They did a nice job and I am happy with that compensation. There was to be some sodding done also, but I guess we ran out of good weather. So I have adjusted the grade to a "A" as I think he did do something for my time and work and it was done nicely.

  • The project started out smoothly.  Mitch was always very friendly and cooperative.  However, the project started to go on and on.  He would do a few small things in the yard, then disapear for days.  He would come back and move some dirt around, then gone again for days, or even weeks.  He started the project in May, and did not finish until early August.  My neighbors also had newly constructed homes and used other landscapers in the areas, and their yards were getting finished, and mine was still in a state of partial completeness.  After many phone calls, he came and finished the yard in August.
When he was finished I paid in in full.  This was a huge mistake.  He had a few small things to finish up.  He promised he would come back and straighten the lawn edging as it was crooked, put fabric under the rocks as he promised, adjust the gates on the fence, and adjust the sprinkler heads.  The next day turned into next week, next week turned into next month, and next month turned into never.  This is a year later that I am writing this review, and he has yet to come back and make the repairs.
He installed a maintenance free vinyl fence and represented himself as a certified dealer of certaineed fences.  I called the factory, and he is not a certified dealer.  Dealers have a lifetime warranty on the fence.  Since Willow Creek Lawn & Landscape is not an authroized dealer, my 14K fence has no warranty.
Do yourself a favor.  DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR.  Once paid, you will never see him again.

  • They were really good. We asked when they could do it and they were very prompt. They came almost within a day. They were very affordable.
