    Lowe's Floral and Garden Center
The people at Lowe's Garden Center actually know their products, so you can ask questions and get good answers.  Places like Menards and Home Depot may sell similar plants for less, but Lowe's has higher quality plants and their people really know what they sell. Their landscape design service is an excellent value.  For the price of $200 we got a site visit, a plan drawn to scale showing the full design, and even pictures with the plants and landscaping work superimposed around our house to see what it would all look like.  When it was all said and done we got $200 in Lowe's bucks, so the service was more or less free considering that we used that money to buy trees and garden supplies we needed anyway.  The cost to have the work done was another story.  It was way too much for us to spend, so we've been doing the work ourselves and chipping away at it here and there.

The the ad that got my attention was: For only $29.99 you can buy a dozen red roses and we will include a free ruby red vase.. ... what they don't tell you is the extra fees they charge for delivery. That shows up only when you finalize the order.. Standard Delivery Fee-$9.99; Morning Delivery Fee-$14.99; Care and Handling-$ you end up paying almost as much for the delivery as you do the flowers themselves. Secondly, my wife was surprised at the inferior product that was brought to her. 1. Tips of many of them (roses) were slightly dark as if frozen 2. Stems too short for the large lovely vase 3. Vase too wide- roses looked lost 4. one stem was broken 4 inches down

I dropped an arrangement to be done in November of 2010 AND have not gotten them. I have called NUMEROUS times with no answer and no call back. I have even stopped by the 5th street location and it seems to NEVER be open. The arrangement is something I will NEVER be able to replace for sentimental reasons. I will no longer do business with Roses Forever or Baskets by Design or with any business that Linda Phalke (sp) ever owns or operates.
