These guys are GREAT! They communicate well. They are careful, professional and personable. I'd hire these guys again in a heartbeat. And their pricing is probably on par with their competitors - I just didn't want to spend what I needed to in order to have this piano moved. They had to go down a straight flight of stairs to get the piano out of house #1 and then down another flight of stairs with a 90 degree turn 2/3 of the way down in house #2. They managed both moves with precision, tools and muscle. Hire them!

Better than I expected. They showed up on time, called before the start to confirm. It was a short trip. They finished early and charged exactly the time worked (to the precision of fraction). Hard working, very professional and courteous. We moved several times and this was the best experience,

They didn't get the job.  I received a quote, after a second request, but when I contacted them by phone, I had to leave messages that were never returned.  I hired other movers, who were much more accommodating and professional.

I was referred to this company by a neighbor.  When I talked with them, I was told it would be best to hire the company by the hour, since they were only moving the larger furniture.  Two young men arrived on time, I think it was 8 or 8:30 am.   They had a small van/truck which, in the end, required my furniture to be stacked and loaded poorly causing some damage.  They were both very, very slow.  At times they would go up or down stairs with only one small item in their hands.  I did see them loitering a little, also.  the move went on and on, stretching into the afternoon..
They had not brought any tools with them, and my significant other had to go to the hardware to get a tool that was needed to take the legs off my sofa so it could be gotten out of the kitchen door at my condo.  When they finally got the furniture to the new house, they could not get my office desk through the door to the office and they had no tools to disassemble it.  They asked my fiance if he had a phillips screwdriver.  At that point I was really upset with the whole long ordeal and asked the young man what kind of movers dont even have a phillips screwdriver?  He then exploded at me, getting into my face and putting me down for "disrespecting him"  etc. etc.  He also informed that they were not supposed to disassemble and assemble furniture such as beds, etc.  ???  I then told him I wanted to talk to his supervisor, but he informed me he was not going to get into any trouble, because I was yelling at him etc.  I then called and talked to the supervisor and told her I could not imagine being talked to and treated like this by someone who I was paying to do a job for me.  She said she would send some others over to help and also bring some tools.  They arrived before too long, and had the job finished in a short time....much shorter than would have been the case with the two others.  I tried to talk to one of the older gentlemans about it who showed up and he would not say anything other than that he would "talk to them."
When I had been talking to the manager (owner?) on the phone she had asked me if there were damages and I had said yes.
Unfortunately, the young black guy presented the bill to my fiance when I was not watching, and he wrote him a check for the entire amount, rather than argue with them any more.  Here's somethng else unbelievable.  The owners/manager   NEVER did check back with us to talk about what had happened, apologize, or ask if there were any damages.  We never heard one word.
The whole ordeal on top of a very stressful experience of building the new home which had drug on for months and months, affected me so negatively that I was not able to sleep and found myself very agitated.  It is hard to believe that one could be subjected to such treatment when you are hiring someone to help you make your move easier.
I was not able to write the review until now, as I could not bear to be reminded  or think of the whole ordeal.
I think if they had sent the second crew who showed up in the first place, MAYBE things would have been different.  However, that does not excuse the way we were treated and the fact that there was never an apology.
Also, there is no reason it should take so long to move that much furniture.  I would think it would take that long to move a whole house.  The whole thing was an unbelievable nightmare.

I hired Mini Movers to move my mother's belongings from a Bismarck ND assisted living facility to one in Sioux Falls SD vicinity. We had limited time, and had to tightly coordinate times with the two facilities to get her checked out of one and into other in timely manner. Mini Movers were a joy to work with. They were in Bismarck ahead of schedule - and at location in South Dakota ahead of schedule as well. Their estimate was accurate even without being able to do a site visit. Everything arrived in good condition. At both locations, they had to work through tight hallways, with people walking through or standing around to see what was going on. Todd and Troy were very polite with my mother and her friends who were sometimes in the way. We tried to arrange a much shorter move without crossing state lines a year earlier and it was a nightmare, so working with Mini Moves was wonderful.

A nightmare! The move was postponed and rescheduled a half dozen times over three or four days.  They were seven hours late on the day they finally did arrive.  They didn't have a large enough trailer to take everything in, so brought a second large truck for the remainder.  There was no inventory, or paperwork provided before or at the time of the move.  Two weeks later I went to pay for the services to find out they didn't even have a storage unit to put my things in.  The trailer was still loaded as it was the first day.  The items from the truck were in an open garage facility.  My prize possession set in the middle of someone else's belongings that were being loaded the next day on another truck.  They kept trying to reassure me that they knew what was mine and what wasn't, but when I removed my things to another facility there were two items that didn't belong to me.  One of them was something that had supposedly been in their shop for a long time, however the owner was the one that loaded it!
When my prize possession was unwrapped at the new facility it was damaged, but because I signed off to have them pick it up Hometown Moving is now refusing to offer ANY compensation for the damage.  I had them pack some of my artwork also to ensure it would be covered if damaged in a move, but I won't know for months if it's all there and/or undamaged.
Now everything I own (I HOPE) is resting in a storage facility while I wait to have it moved to a permanent location.  In the meantime I have no idea of what else might be damaged, or worse what may belong to someone else now.  I've asked for little compensation and they've ignored me.
If you should hire them, make your own inventory, note any damages and take pictures before they pick it up.  So surprised because I had heard good things about them and referred a lot of business to them.  Let them pack everything too.  If they drop something they will look at you and say "Oh well, we didn't pack it."
