    Harts Roofing & Windows
Mr. Hart promptly came and gave an estimate to remove and replace damaged vinyl siding on one side of the house. The work was scheduled for the following week and completed right on time. The new siding looks great and all debris was hauled away. Both Mr. Hart and the siding team were professional and good to work with.

richard and brad did a great job for us. they replaced water-damaged fascia board on the exterior, and re-hung a patio door that had been the source of water entering the house when it rained. they are courteous and honest, knowledgeable about the work they performed, didn't try to sell us what we didn't need, and charged a fair price. we will hire them again.

    MERCURE LLC
This project occurred over a 6 week period. As one problem was addressed others became apparent. This was not expected but not surprising either as we live a 80+ year old beach cottage. As problems arose, Keith presented us with options on how best to approach them. His work was professionally done, with a friendly and responsive crew. His costs were in line with other local contractors and his timing estimates were easier for us to work with. His work in replacing our water damaged pilings was especially noteworthy; rather than use treated wood, he built 6 concrete pillars and replaced the original adjoining cedar siding with cement-fiber boards.

    JDW EXTERIORS
🛑BEWARE THIS COMPANY!!🛑 ************STAY AWAY!!!********** Our case against this company is currently under investigation by the NC Attorney General, the BBB, and the Federal Trade Commission. On 4/27/2020, HomeAdvisor connected us with JDW EXTERIORS in Wilmington NC, for a siding repair on our vacation rental home. David, the owner, gave an estimate and we sent him a check for $4,246.66. He put a dumpster in our front driveway, weeks before the project was to start, blocking parking. We notified him right away and asked that it be moved to the back yard. David said he didn't believe the dumpster blocked parking. We sent him pictures and explained how critical this was to our business if there was no parking. David said it would be moved in 2 days. It was never moved and blocked parking for weeks while no work was being done. We received a bad online review on international vacation websites stating the dumpster was a "HUGE EYESORE. We got no rentals for weeks after that in peak season. On 6/5, David did not show up to start the job as promised. He sent us a text and pic of rain stating they couldn't work. Our local rental manager reported to us there was no rain. We relayed this to David asking him where he was and where did he take that picture? We got no reply. After more messages from us he finally texted "I don't believe those people" in reference to our rental manager's report of clear weather. Unbeknownst to David, we drove 4 hours from our home in Charlotte to the site that morning and saw there was no rain, and no evidence of rain earlier. We informed David we were on site. He then changed his story and said he was working in another town where it rained and his tools got wet so he couldn't work for the rest of the day. David must think we're stupid as it was so sunny that any wet ladder or tool would have dried in a matter of minutes. An entire company is going to shut down their business for a whole day because a ladder got wet? Right. We messaged David asking him to please call-after several hours he did. He said they had big jobs that were more important and they didn t typically do jobs like ours. Huh? Why did they take on our job? It boiled down to they had a more lucrative job they were working on elsewhere. David sent us a message stating they would come get the siding and mail back our deposit check if we preferred to cancel, and we could find another contractor. We begged him to please do the right thing and just do the work they promised. We stopped hearing from David. He would not respond to messages. The next day we notified HomeAdvisor and we emailed JDW EXTERIORS of this relaying we would retract the complaint if they would just do the job. That day, Johnnie, from JDW EXTERIORS sent an email stating THEY were "opting out" of our job and charging us for their expenses! We immediately emailed a response telling them to remove the siding and dumpster if they were not going to do the work. JDW EXTERIORS sent a receipt stating we owed them a balance but they would waive it and just keep the $4,246.66. They did NO work! THEY chose to abandon the job. This is quite a racket! You could do this all day long and make a nice living, huh? The hold on rentals that week for this job they abandoned cost us $1,670.42. We will never know how much the bad review cost us in rentals. Reviews are one of the main driving forces behind vacation rental property revenue. There are other parts to the story and not enough room here. We would like to know how JDW EXTERIORS likes having a review like this that hurts their business the way they hurt our business and ripped us off. We are warning everyone against unethical JDW EXTERIORS. My husband is a senior citizen at 74 years old and I'm a nurse working 13 hour days through the covid-19 pandemic. We want to warn everyone of companies who prey on the elderly and take advantage of others during difficult times - Companies like JDW EXTERIORS

Dave Zora is an absolute professional. Fit me in schedule to provide estimate, then moved me up on schedule when able to. Arrived exactly on scheduled time, did the work and clean up done. If you want work done correctly, this is who you should call.

Mike was able to give me an estimate the day I called because he was already in our area. Very punctual, professional and easy to talk with. I believe if he was this punctual for an estimate, he will be also when the work begins.

    Thomas Trades LLC
Josh and his team are some of the most professional as well as personable contractors my wife and I have had the pleasure of working with. The job began with an in-home meeting where Josh not only heard all that we had to say, he built on the ideas and came up with other ones in a way that wasn't forceful or overtaking of what we wanted. He just had great input and improvements to inject based on his past experiences, which was extremely helpful for us. They were able to start within three or four weeks of first meeting, which in my opinion is a reasonable amount of wait time for a larger job, and a good sign that they have plenty of other jobs going on. The bulk of the work took about two months to complete, with a few odds and ends being taken care of over several weeks after that. One of the most amazing aspects of working with Josh and his team, even more than ease of working with them and getting the result you want, is how even after the work was done and they were paid and months had passed, Josh promptly sent someone out on multiple occasions when we called him about any loose ends pertaining to the work that was done. No questions asked and free of additional charge. Thomas Trades also came in at a noticeably lower price point than some of the other highly rated general contractors in and around Wilmington, with no degradation in quality. I definitely recommend hiring them for almost any work you need done in and around your home. Note: We (somewhat specifically) had most of our rooms painted, much of the kitchen redone, a full closet system in the master bedroom, the hardwood floors refinished, the master bath completely gutted and reworked, and a lot of other smaller items taken care of such as custom doors, hardware installs, fixture installs, electrical work, plumbing work, coffered ceilings, wall repair, etc.

It was the best experience we have had with a contractor. Mr. Harts crew of Anthony and John were always on time and very professional. They were working with a plan, never waisted anytime. The results exceeded our expectations. I would recommend Harts for any roofing windows, doors or siding. Great customer service and responsive. Anthony and John always left the job site clean and in order. Great job.

The roof was done first. It was done in one day. Great job! Cleaned up perfectly. The garage and tower (two story storage building) were done in 4 days by a father and son. Great job! They were very professional. Both building look terrific. Also cleaned up perfectly. The owner even brought his truck over and hauled away some stuff (tree limbs, old wooden fence posts, lattice, etc) that were not even part of the job just to help me out because I did not have a truck. I would most definitely hire this company again and will highly recommend it to my friends and anyone else who asks. You just don't find folks like this anymore!!! Proud to have their sign in my front yard.
