Marble & Granite reviews in Wilmington

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Amazing - simply Amazing. In this day of unreliable people - Phil Christmas and his team are the exact opposite. There was never one time that they did not show up as they promised. Not one time when they did not do the work they were there to do. Not one time was I disappointed in any way. Phil only works with reliable subs and does not tolerate anything less. His knowledge of construction and remodeling made this job a pleasure for me. He brought the job in on time and on budget! He will forever be my go to person for any construction/repair needs. Cannot say enough good about this company.

  • Chester made all the arrangements, though we did some shopping around ourselves beforehand. He told us which granite supplier/installer (of those we had already visited) he preferred , and why he felt that particular supplier/installer was his preference. He also pointed us toward his preferred tile shop ... having used Chester previously for another project, we trusted his judgment on this. He met us at both the tile shop and the storage yard of the counter top supplier to not only help us pick out what we wanted (granite design, and tile color/pattern), but also arranged for the consultant at the tile supply shop to meet with us at the same time. He also pointed us toward a plumbing supplier for our sink ... again, one of those suppliers whom we had already visited as part of our preliminary research during the earliest phase of our decision-making process to undertake this countertop re-do project. Once we selected all of our primary components (granite slab, tiles, sink + faucet), a start date was set, along with an expected finish-by date. Demolition took less than 1 day. Somewhere along the 2nd or 3rd expected day of work, a day (or part of a day) was lost (can't remember why) - but that did not impact the completion of the project. I had two concerns going into the project. One was whether the existing cabinet frame would support a new, much heavier counter top. The original counter top was a laminate ... probably not 1/10 the weight of a granite top. Chester said that he would have additional structural supports installed to help with that added weight. The other concern I had was about the sink we wanted to use ... the manufacturer's specs for the size of cabinet opening we would need for the sink to fit, indicated that we would not be able to use the sink we wanted, and would have to get a smaller one, which in this case would be significantly smaller if we wanted to stay with the same sink material (granite composite). Chester was quite certain that the sink (we wanted as our first choice) would fit, even if it meant a little shimming here or there. When it came time to install the sink, it dropped right into place without any adjustments needed, as Chester had felt it would ... another example of his judgment being correct. In the end, the final cost was a bit more than what we expected, but everything looked great, Chester was always available - just a phone call away, if needed; the job was done in a professional manner, and clean-up every day left the adjacent areas of the house completely livable.

  • They started job on schedule and arrived as promised. Kept us updated and informed of each step in the process. Only slight delays due to cabinet manufacturer not sending all materials at the same time. Iwona stopped in to check progress and workmanship on a weekly basis or called to see if we were satisfied with the work. We originally were going to reinstall our old dishwasher however Iwona was not comfortable doing this since all other appliances were new so she purchased a new dishwasher to match the other appliances and did not charge us for it.
We were extremely pleased with this gesture. We were not satisfied with ceiling paint job so they came back and repainted the entire ceiling.
We are extremely happy with the quality of the materials, workmanship, customer service, and overall job they did. We will definitely use Coastal Home Renovations again for other major remodeling jobs. We also highly recommend this company to anyone looking to do bathroom, or kitchen remodeling.

  • Went will at first. Signed contract review dimensions, personal visit to verify slab would accommodate size 118"x42" okay. Installed dimensions 110X43 3/4". Brought to the attention of office manager, Kevin who we deal with no longer there. Her comment it's only 8". Spoke with the owner Joe Braudway he said we got the square footage we paid for ( they increased the width to accommodate the shorter length). Joe the owner will take no responsibility for the error. pursuing legal action.

  • Well done did their best to start and finish as promised, kept us informed about the process. No complaints. Everyone respectful of our home and tried to leave the site neat and orderly everyday.  Ours was a rather sizable job but they maintained a personal touch!
    Beautiful finish, gotten many compliments.

  • Everything fits as it should and nothing was broken. They were kind enough to show me a partial slab where the measurements would work for my project and give me a discount. They were prompt and on time.

  • They came as scheduled and carefully measured countertops and cabinets.  They then manufactured their product to cover our countertops and backsplash areas.  Then they came and installed these on top of what we already had. (which was 4x4 tiles).
On a separate visit, the cabinet doors were removed and the remaining cabinet work was covered with a white surface, carefully measured to look original, and then they installed custom made doors and drawers. We had purchased door and drawer pulls and they installed those.  The doors and drawers work very smoothly and have special stop features that make slamming impossible.
When the backsplash was installed, a few of the tile pieces broke, but they have a person who is experienced in fixing these things, and he came and replaced the cracked tiles.
The price breakdown was: $2241 for the granite countertops
                                           $2394 for the backsplash
                                           $7543 for the cabinets
    The whole room is transformed.

  • We worked with Kevin and he is excellent. His team seemed competent, and all work was done on time. They were not the cheapest I could find, but I went with them anyway, as they seemed to be much more customer friendly .  I am sure they would stand behind their work for a long time.  Very pleased with my dealings with them.

  • We replaced a white Corian countertop with a granite top. In order to enable this small bath to show its true size, we also replaced the shower curtain on a rod with a gleaming chrome sliding shower door, maximizing the room's appearance and elegance. It appeared to be a new tub after the project was completed, though it was the same preformed acrylic one. This was a less expensive route than creating a new walk-in granite shower, though that certainly would have been the more expensive option. You can trust these people completely in your house. We even used a remnant for the countertop, saving money that way also. It still wasn't cheap, but I've never regretted my beautiful new surface. Great work!

  • This family business is very professional, friendly, helpful, reasonable, and flexible. I enjoyed working with them and am very happy with the result. The product is somewhat expensive, but I love the look and got exactly what I wanted. You can sanitize this product, and that was a primary concern for me in a bathroom or any surface in my house. It is very elegant and tasteful. I'm a happy camper!
