Home Warranty reviews in Wilmington

  • The repairman, who was reportedly dispatched to our home in Wilmington, NC from Charlotte, NC, never showed up. After numerous phone calls, CHW offered $300.00 towards our purchase of a new machine, which we accepted because the ONE service man was trying to cover all of eastern NC. We purchased a new machine for about $600.00.

  • The service calls are always $85.00. It took a long time for them to get all the parts together because I guess it's a refrigerator but it had a lot, so apparently, it must be an old refrigerator so it just took a lot of time to get everything together. I would continue to go to them.

They're fine.?They?came out the next day after?I?had called?them.?Communicating with the staff is great, I had no problem at all. They?are prompt because?they?have to order the parts and that was very prompt.?I just haven't had any problems with?them?at all. I will continue to use them for my services

  • Furnace went out due to the temperature safety occasionally tripping in the furnace.   After several visits by the technician the problem was made better but not totally resolved.  HVAC technician recommended some additional supply air.
2-10 declined to do the work because the said duct work was excluded.  Duct work is clearly covered on page 4 of the "details" page.  The only exclusion was collapsed duct work.  The other option was do replace the supply plenum to reduce static this considered duct work?
After I called back....and a very long hold I was told that is was excluded under limits of liability B-11.  They stated that it was due to inadequate capacity or improper design.
The problem only happens when the furnace cycles frequently in very cold weather.  I can solve the problem by putting in a thermostat with some additional high/low variation but the conclusion that I have reached is....
If you look at all the exclusions, this warranty is pretty much useless.  If you need to have one, I would go with American Home Shield.  Other than that....skip 2-10.

  • They are very efficient and when I had a problem with my house they got someone out here right away. There was no waiting around. I pay them for the year. I think that I am getting a good deal. I have never had a problem with them. Whenever I have had any issues with the house I can get in contact with them right away. They get in contact with me within 24 hours.

  • Took three weeks to fix/replace a water heater. Don't waste your time or your money on an AHS warranty. I have since cancelled the warranty contracts on two properties. My parents are cancelling the warranties on their two properties and my sister is cancelling the warranty on her property. That is five properties at $50 per month for a total of $250 per month or $3000 per year. Not to mention all of the bad reviews and a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. Next step is a claim in Small Claims Court. Sure would have been easier and financially more lucrative to just to fix the problem. Penny wise an pound foolish on their part.

  • My wife and I had received a free years worth of coverage from American Home Shield when we purchased our home in 2010. We were excited about this since the house was 15 years old at the time, and it was the original HVAC system in the home. With us being in the south, the unit is pretty much constantly on. The last time we had to use them they sent someone out to fix the unit, easily $300 worth of parts and labor to get the heat back up and running, and it only cost us $60. We have had pretty good luck with them.
