  Buyer beaware! Don't use Carpet Smart to install your flooring! Jonathan Blackburn owns Carpet Smart here in Wilmington. He installed our solid wood floors throughout our home. Before we even moved back in the new floors were buckling. Jon came out to meet with us. He said that it was our "houses" fault. I was confused about that - we had wood floors before. In-fact we loved them. But why couldn't we have them now? Turns out they ripped out our old subfloor and instead of replacing it they installed the new wood directly over the plank subfloors. He said that our contractor Nathan Elliot with Tru Blue told him to do it that way. This was the first we had heard that big corners were being cut and we can only assume it was because they wanted more profit. Jon said he knew all along that was going to be an issue. Because, without a proper subfloor - moisture was getting to the new wood. But he said not to worry he knows what hes doing. He assured us that he could fix this without removing the wood and installing a plywood sub floor like we had. He personally guaranteed me that along with repairing the sections of damaged wood and putting plastic down in our crawl space - that our floors wood last a life time. SAVE YOUR MONEY! - we found out the hard way that Jonathan Blackburn most certainly doesn't know what he's doing. Our floors are buckling and separating.   RM Sea Corp is the way to go! I am a Realtor and also do property management here in Wilmington. We had many homes in need of roofs and various repairs due to the hurricane. I had roofers lined up right after the storm, but they all let me down. My homeowners would have had to wait for months - all the while their homes sustaining more damage. Robb came to the rescue; guaranteeing once an estimate was approved, he would have the roof on within 72 hours. His bids were fair and the shingles that he installed were of superior quality. He has installed 6 roofs for me (including my personal home) and many more for the company I work for.   It went very well!!! Dana ran this as a turnkey operation. I left many of the design details to her. This is a family business with Dana���s husband Rex leading the installation. Within minutes of returning to the MLS, I had a contract on the townhouse for full price. The agent had been checking in on the progress of the remodel and was impressed with the work being done. My real estate agent also checked in and was pleased. I could not be happier with what they accomplished in a short amount of time. Dana was a ���godsend��� to me.

  Remodeling by Eric did a fantastic job for us during our time of need. Our home was severely damaged from hurricane Florence and frankly Eric, Michael and team did a great job in restoring not only our home but our lives as well. They were readily available when we needed or had questions during the rebuild and always answered or returned our call promptly.   Bell's company has been doing repairs for my clients for a few years. After Hurricane Florence we had major repairs needed to our properties and to our clients. They worked long hours to get all of our houses covered with tarps and replaced everyone's roofs faster than any of us expected. Matthew's crew worked fast and for a very fair price. We have hired his crew to do a full remodel job for us next month. We will continue to recommend his crew to all our clients too.

  Perfectly! Matt and his team arrived on time and in two days had our entire (large) home boarded-up and sand-bagged just ahead of the hurricane! Then afterwards, they came and removed them just as they had promised. Now we���ve hired them to repair some storm damage and to handle other repairs/updates to our home. A+++ Thank you, Matt!

  Christmas Construction Company

  Amazing - simply Amazing. In this day of unreliable people - Phil Christmas and his team are the exact opposite. There was never one time that they did not show up as they promised. Not one time when they did not do the work they were there to do. Not one time was I disappointed in any way. Phil only works with reliable subs and does not tolerate anything less. His knowledge of construction and remodeling made this job a pleasure for me. He brought the job in on time and on budget! He will forever be my go to person for any construction/repair needs. Cannot say enough good about this company.

  Constructive Solutions

  Not happy with some of the workmanship or several short cuts, double charged/charged for work that wasn't done/overcharged. Work was originally needed because of a plumber mistake. Insurance and Construction Solutions estimates were similar but several items were not completed or believed to be necessary and some items removed from the list by choice. Constructive Solutions removed all the backsplash before attempting to remove the cabinets and countertop and destroyed a wall, then would not replace my glass backsplash with glass (no damage from water leak to the backsplash), no spackle or tape was used on doubled thin drywall, used original shoe molding around new flooring with some damage, some areas not completed, no caulk. Some cabinet damage in 3 places. Storage pod was rented late and was too small. Owner said he lost revenue helping me when I have maybe 30 man hours logged at my house over a three week time period. He also bragged about the other jobs he was doing when he wasn't working on my house. Seemingly courteous/pleasant owner (aside of minor arguments) until he asked for 2500 (already had 6800 of an original estimate around 10,000) before presenting the final bill. Stormed out of my house and came back asking for anything I could give him. I gave him a thousand so he would leave calmly. I requested the final amount due be removed because I had already paid 7800 of the original estimate amount when maybe 3/4 of the work was completed. He called his invoice "confusing" so line by line I helped with corrections, credits and removed line items that were not done at all - and no agreement came to pass. Just a threat of "further action" for final amount of around 1550. I found another bad review under this business too late and it was all too familiar. Sent a complaint to better business bureau to follow up with the Constructive Solutions to resolve this with help and haven't heard, at this time, either way. I was, however, happy with the flooring sub-contractor. Feeling stressed and bullied. :(:(

  This was the third time I've hired Thomas Trades for home improvements, and they come through like champs every time. The work is done to a professional finish, with detail as suits the homeowner. They do not work until it's "good enough" - they work until it is finished properly. We need more people in this industry like Josh Thomas. He is on my go-to list whenever I need renovations and repairs to my home.

We picked out wood and tile, met with Darrell Garvey and he took care of everything while we were out of the area -- these folks take great pride in their work!
