    PLAZA APPLIANCE MART
Washer was delivered but installer wanted me to sign a waver stating I wanted new washer on existing pedestal.I called the salesperson at Plaza Appliance Mart and explained situation.I wasn't going to sign any waiver because he told me it would fit. My salesperson was baffled because LG told him it would fit. Installer explained that detaching existing pedestal could compromise the stability of existing pedestal. That the new pedestals are not exactly configured the same way.Installer showed me the difference! Shouldnt sales people know their merchandise? My salesperson said he would take 50% off a new pedestal and have it delivered at no charge. He said he would take it out of his own profit. Having 2.5 weeks of laundry I was happy to have a washer and wait for the pedestal.I never received a call back from the sales person.I called 3 working days later. He was off. Spoke to another sales person who got in contact with the original one. He said a pedestal has been found. I was going to pay on the phone the price quoted by original sales person. That salesperson needed to contact original sales person to confirm price. The original salesperson went back on his offer and stated since there were no promotions he could not give me that price! I asked to speak to manager. Manager called me ( his name no joke is "M") He told me that original salesperson is home with an sick relative. That I should come in and discuss this commitment the original salesman gave me in store because he as the manager will not honor it. So now I'm expected to go into the store and argue with the original salesperson with an ailing relative plus my gas and time! To save $125.00. Not worth the aggravation. The manager was rude and told me he would come and pick up my washer immediately. I said no you won't it belongs to me.I paid for it! I ordered the pedestal and it's being delivered in 3 days. I paid full price for it. My gut feeling told me not to do business with this company but how amazing 20lbs of laundry can motivate you. By the way they had decent reviews but I'm telling you for your sanity! STAY AWAY!

I actually installed it myself. I paid them $15 to remove the old dryer. They came and removed the old dryer and they brought in new dryer. The only problem I had that I thought was a little strange, the new dryer didn't come with a 3-prong plug. So they wanted to sell me a 3-prong plug in the store for an amount that I thought was too much and so I ended up taking the plug off the old dryer. They did not suggest that. I was shocked that it wasn't already equipped with that plug. They brought the dryer in and out, pretty hard to screw that up. They offer great discounts for veterans, they offer 10% off.

    PLAZA APPLIANCE MART
We purchased a Thermador refrigerator and installation from Plaza Appliance Mart at Carolina Place and it was delivered to the job site of our new home but not installed though we waited all day for him to arrive.  I called our salesman Curtis and he rescheduled installation for another day because his installer had not reported in.  We waited at the job site all that day and the installer again never showed up.  I again called Curtis and he rescheduled for the following day claiming he would send a different installer since the original installer had twice not reported in.  We again waited all day the following day and the installer did not show up.  I called Curtis again and he refunded our installation fee leaving us to attempt to find our own installer.  Curtis' installer did finally show up around 6:30pm after we had left and no one was at the job site except our cabinet maker who just happened to be working late.  This turned out to be the same installer, Fernando, that never showed up the previous 2 days.  Fernando performed the installation, but later when our cabinet maker attempted to install our refrigerator panel he discovered it was installed incorrectly and he could not install our panel.  I called Curtis who looked up our record and immediately began repeating over and over that he refunded our money so it's not his problem.  I asked him if he even remembered us or the circumstances by which he refunded the money and he stated NO he did not.  He would not listen to me and kept repeating he refunded our money so Plaza is not responsible. I asked him if I could speak and he said NO.  I asked if he was just going to continue talking and making me talk over him and he said YES and continued repeating the same thing that Plaza is not responsible and he wanted us to pay for the installation he had refunded.  At this point, I had to yell to be heard over him and asked to speak with the manager and was told he was not in.  This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced.  We spent nearly $9000 at their store and weren't even given the courtesy of being heard out not to mention being left waiting nearly 24 hours over the course of 3 days at a job site for an installer who didn't show up and then incorrectly performed the installation when he did.  Curtis was incredibly unprofessional and it was like trying to reason with a child. He made us feel that he had already earned his sizable commission off of our purchase so we were left without recourse.  We still have several appliances to purchase including 2 dishwashers and ovens and range top.  Had Curtis simply dealt with us cordially and reasonably, he could have realized commission on the sale of those items as well, but as it is, we will never purchase another item from that store.

Queen City Audio Video & Appliances

Purchasing in-store was pleasurable. The sales person was courteous and knowledgeable. Anything he didn't know immediately, he looked up and gave us a printed sheet. He was able to quickly point out the differences between different models and brands. We returned to Queen City because of an earlier good experience with them.

While we normally do not get extended warranties, a previous experience with a refrigerator from h**l (on which we had purchased one) taught us that they can be economical if a serious problem occurs. Thus, we requested information about this, and purchased an extended warranty.

Queen City delivered the new appliances. We knew in advance on what day they would come. (The appliances were shipped from their Florida warehouse.) On the delivery day, we received a call indicating the time of delivery. The delivery was on time. Entry to and exit from the house was gentle, causing no damage. Installation was professional, including water hoses and dryer vent hose for a gas dryer, hooked to existing external vent. A full explanation was given on operation, though the manual was reasonably well written. Thus, the installation crew was competent in installing and operating.

The old appliances were taken out. We found someone who had no appliances that could use the washer, so they delivered it! (It was near their route, but they were willing to make another stop and do the extra work.) Thus, disposal was minimized.

It is unlikely (hopefully?) that we will purchase more appliances in the foreseeable future. However, if we must, Queen City will be our preferred vendor.

    LOWE'S
We ordered a trim kit for our microwave and oven. Before cabinets went in we needed the trim kit and microwave installed. I ordered it 01/23. When I called 02/25 to check on it they told me they never received it. They said they could order another one, but it could take up to 21 days. I ended up having to find another source which delayed our cabinet install. I paid for a work order to install the wall oven and microwave, knowing the price could change if they had to build a shelf. Again, we needed it installed before cabinets. When they sent the tech out to install the oven, microwave, and trim kit...they only sent someone to install the oven even though it clearly mentioned all of them in the work order. Once again, I had to find someone else to install the microwave. They were aware of the error, but no one ever called me about it. I had a cooktop installed. They originally told me it would be a huge work effort because the venting from the inside to the outside of the house had to be re-installed. They quoted me the price of $800 (took $40 off with Lowes card). i questioned the price, but they assured me that I would have to replace all the venting, and it was a HUGE job. I trusted their estimate. When the tech came out, he said it was not a huge job and that he could make an adaptor piece to adapt to the existing vent system that ran to the outsiede of the house. It did not take him that long to complete the work. When I went back to lowes, they took 159.70 off the price, making the cost 600.30. This is STILL a lot higher than it should be considering I paid the price to run a vent from the inside to the outside of the house. I did not get what I paid for, and they would not give me a fair price for the work performed. I have been happy with other Lowes in the past, but I will never go to this one. I paid over $12,000 at this Lowes before moving the rest of my business other places.

    Geek Squad - Best Buy
They have been wonderful. Every instance they have ever had with us have been wonderful. They have installed so many things for us and they are always punctual. Their servicemen are very good and polite. I went and looked and called back that night and ordered over the phone and they have a delay in delivery for two weeks.

    PLAZA APPLIANCE MART
We bought the refrigerator on 11/24/2012. The delivery men came on 11/30/2012, as Mr. Smith had promised. The delivery men were the best we have encountered. They brought the refrigerator in, connected the refrigerator, and the ice maker. They went over several details about the refrigerator with us. This was a very good experience. We would use Plaza Appliance Mart agaim.

Washer was delivered promptly and installed without problem. Installers were professional and quick, cleaned up afterward. No complaints. Store salesman was knowledgeable about the various washing machines on display there; explained their advantages clearly. However, if I had not done my own research before looking, I would have had no clue from him as to which models or brands are less than desirable compared to others. All of them were just marvelous, according to him. This failure does not induce customer loyalty.

Delivery was prompt; installation professionally and quickly done. Cheerful, friendly installers who took out my old machine & cleaned up well. The store had a good variety of dishwashers on display & salesman was pleasant. But--and I consider this part of professionalism--he seemed more interested in selling me ANYTHING rather than in making sure I purchased something I'd be satisfied with. I first ordered a Frigidaire, then went home & looked it up on user-blogs online. Every single purchaser said, "Nothing but trouble. Do not buy one of these!" I canceled the purchase & eventually bought a Bosch from the same store--but would have appreciated a little guidance on the negative side; this would have wasted less of my time & the salesman's. And you can bet I would have become a loyal customer for that store! As it is, he blew the opportunity to make his place the first I'll go to when I need something else.

    HHGREGG
Excellent. Our refrigerator expired. We decided to replace it. We shopped two specialty appliance centers, one big box store and major home improvement store and two electronic retail stores. HHGregg was the only store that had people knowledgeable about the product(s) and they matched the best price we found including discounts and coupons.
