    Cory Rose Painting
I have an old historic home in town that we purchased a few years ago. It has cedar siding and the previous paint was badly peeling. It definitely needed some TLC and we knew it would be a big job. Corey and his crew were very friendly and punctual. However, the overall job left us with additional work which we were trying to avoid. First, they spent less than a day scraping and power washing the paint off. They did more power washing and much less scraping which left less than desirable results. There was lots of loose paint that remained and they scarred the siding from using too high pressure of water. I contacted Bruce who assured me it would look good in the end and he said that they paint over the paint chips and then fix it when it pops (this didn't make sense to me and still doesn't). Next, they sprayed the house. Unfortunately, they did not cover any of the windows and there was major over-spray on all of our windows. When we had our windows cleaned the person had to hand scrape all of the windows and many had thick over-spray which we ended up paying extra for because of the additional labor. They also got paint on some of the screens, my brick porch, and my window bird feeder. Due to lack of scraping, one side looked so bad I was in tears - they told us the only way to fix it was to replace all of the siding on that side and they would repaint it without charge. My husband and I went back and hand scrapped and sanded the paint off and had them repaint it. It took us many many hours - we weren't looking for perfection - however this could have been avoided if they had hand scrapped as many spots just peeled off when we did it. They then did the trim work. The majority of it looks ok - however, I had to point out many many areas that they missed. I will say that they were very polite when I did but it did make me uncomfortable. Still on our back porch there are many many areas that are missing paint (such as around door knobs) or missed spots where there was just one coat or maybe a very quick second coat (the quote was for 2 coats) or lines that were so crooked that I have taped and touched up myself. I didn't get several quotes for the job, but I think the price was fair for the job... I just wasn't satisfied for the quality and would have spent a little more for a better quality had I known. Overall our house does look better than before as long as you don't look to close to details - taping, covering windows, and additional scraping were areas I think could have been an improvement.

    Yoder Painting
Provider was to paint on feb. ll.  Then he called and said he had other commitments and would call the following week end (Feb. 15/16) to reschedule. No call received.  Therefore we contracted another contractor not on Angie's List.

    WAYNE'S DRYWALL
Chimney was clad in cedar planking which had rotted, permitting water to flow down the sides of the chimney into the house.
Wayne removed the old wood and wired the chimney in preparation for stucco application.
The stucco was applied over 2 days [structure was 'tarped' overnight to protect from any rain showers] in a very attractive 2 tone effect. The endresult looked very good indeed. Presently the stucco is curing and will be 'tarped' if any rain threatens. After a week or so I will apply a protective coating to the stucco.
Wayne also pointed out that the roof needed repair adjacent to the chimney, due to long-standing water damage.
