    Rear head turned out within tolerances except for the deck surface which had high spots. Found out that it was performed with a belt sander. Front head exhause valve tolerances were within specifications but the intake valve guide clearance was way off AT .0050 clearance. Spec is .0015 to .0020. Deck surface was same as rear head with high spots from a belt sander. Ashley..the tech that performed the work was generally a kind person. I just feel he needs to do a better job of keeping tolerances where they need to be. This is a family owned business and seem to have plenty of work to do. May they need updated machinery and tools. I just know when I took it back to them he corrected the out of concentric valve seat but left the guide AT .005 clearance. I'm having to purchase a new guide and proper .311 reamer to correct this sloppy work. I do not recommend this facility for Harley Davidson or any MC machine work. They are more into automotive work.

    They've always done excellent work, but the cost is too high. We've been using them for years. They are responsive to customer needs and get you in quickly if you need to be. We usually just take our car in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon. They're friendly, helpful and cooperative.

    Modern Nissan of Lake Norman
    Discussed online with a sales rep the vehicle we wanted and what we wanted to do. All looked good and set a time to come to the dealer. Was told to ask for a specific sales manager when we arrived. We did so but the person greeting us took us to sit down and said he would help us. After sitting down that person had an appointment arrive and got up, went to the hall and said " I  have a buyer and this couple is just here to look.  Who can take them?"  That was insulting as we arrived with financing check in hand ready to buy. They gave us a new guy that was left with no one to guide him. He started the typical stuff you expect from a dealership about payment and so on... We said let us test drive it and you can appraise our trade while we drive. He began to tell us why they could not do that and how their process works and so on.  We said where we wanted to be and told them if they can do it great, if not we will not waste more of their time.  They did NOT like that we already had our financing. Kept pushing us to use Nissan financing. Kept telling us the SUV would cost more if we did not use NMAC.   Then the typical back and forth to the sales managers desk process started. We said where we wanted to be and what we expected for our trade. We did plenty of research before going in. We knew we had a fair deal in mind on both the trade and purchase.  The sales rep came back after 10 minutes of standing at the sales manager desk.   He said can you please write your offer down and sign it. Typical sales psychology junk they do at dealers, get you to commit and show you are serious. Mind you we already showed them the bank draft and they knew we were ready to buy.  We asked why he did not present it verbally and asked what he had been doing that whole time, no answer.  He took it back stating they would want it in writing. We asked him what the difference was between the S and SV models we were looking at. He answered " the SV has power seats."  He did not know the product at all and a power seat does not make a 3K difference in trim level. The sales person wanted to offer 4K less on the trade than it was worth at a trade price.. not the retail price but 4K below dealer trade in value.. Then the sales manager came to the office with a condescending tone and said he was doing a favor to come up 3K more on the trade. When my wife piped up to say that we expected more for the trade, the Sales Manager cut her off and talked over her very sternly. We walked out as they were still 2K over the price we told them we wanted out the door. This took 2.5 hours!  We came in ready to buy, really?. And while we and at least 6 other customers where in sales people's offices they started turning off not only the office lights that were vacant, but then the main showroom lights. They had people in there working on deals and they started turning out the lights 5 minutes to 8 at month end. Very rude and completely shows they see customers as a commodity and nothing more. Worst experience ever in buying of 25 cars.    We called their sister dealer in Concord after their internet person said they were different and to please give them a chance. The concord dealer had a price in 15 minutes over the phone! Went to the dealer and we got what we wanted on the trade and out the door price and no hassle and were done in an hour new car detailed and full tank of gas.  The Lake Norman location needs help and a leadership change as that flows from the top down. And also better training for the new sales staff. We knew more about the vehicle than the sales person they assigned us to.

    EXCELLENT from the first conversation. Got a price ASAP over the phone from the sales manager David Foy and upon arrival worked with Pierre Franklin in sales. Both were top notch and it was an amazing experience.  No hassle no problems and total respect and great customer service. Can't say enough about them both. Thank you for a great experience!

    They wouldn't trust my car unless I have my right windshield wiper replaced. It wasn't cheap because I remember saying, "For one wiper blade?" I know they are more expensive and I don't like that part, but they are like 3 minutes from my house that's why I go there. They are always more expensive than the smaller companies. I think they are a little greedy. A big dealership like that knows that people need them just as much as we need them. They don't need us because they have a lot of customers who would come to them. They do charge more. The quality is good.

    Wife bought car and I was out of town. Car was wrecked.Left front quarter damaged and left rear quarter was repainted. Intake had new sealant there. I asked about the intake because of a bad intake design but got no repair confirmation. Reciently last month had Flow motors rework head gaskets. This was a used but they didn't point out damages. The GM financing was good. Car runs good. 90,000 miles. Be careful inspecting used vehicles. The dates are off a bit but we bought it a little over 1 1/2 years ago. Overall fair priced but not fully truthful. They said1 owner banker lady and not wrecked.. Head gasket costed $800 to repair. I can live with the nent front quarter panel.

    I use Dewayne's Automotive. He is my main mechanic and he is awesome. They are awesome, absolutely awesome. He is down to earth. He doesn't charge an arm and a leg when you go in. He is personable. He calls you if there is any kind of an issue. He will let you know how much it is going to be before he does the work. He always goes above and beyond than what he needs to. He might tell you that this needs to be done but probably within the next 5000 miles or the next 3 months or something like that. It doesn't feel like he is ripping you off every time you turn around. I would grade him an 'A' plus, plus, plus if possible.

    Abra Auto Body and Glass
    It was a week before Christmas and I wanted to use the minivan for holiday travel.  I went on the Geico website and found that I could go to Abra the next day to start the repairs through an insurance claim.  They had a rental car company onsite and started the repairs immediately.  They were done in 3 days the week before Christmas.  I was very impressed with the professionalism and how quick they got everything done.  I was also kept up to date on the progress through text message but I think that was through Geico as well.  Overall, I was very happy with the results.  I cannot comment on price because I knew I would be paying my deductible no matter where I went but I was very happy with the quality of work and the time it was finished in.

    Voelske Automotive has done all of our mechanical work on all our vehicles(domestic and import) for the last 5 years. Always thorough in their analysis and suggested remedy(ies). And in today's economy, more and more people are maintaining their vehicles versus buying a new one. As knowledgeable as Dealer Techs and more so in some cases without the Dealer labor cost. Prior to finding Voelske, we had to travel to Clemmons, NC for our mechanical needs. Those guys in Clemmons are exceptional and so are the mechanics at Voelske. I am extremely diligent when it comes to spending my hard earned dollars... auto mechanic work is no exception. Having our cars/trucks worked on is like going to the dentist for me... I don't like it, but it's necessary. With 350,000+ on our car... 150,000+ on our truck, we consider ourselves fortunate and blessed to have John and company managing our mechanical needs.
