Cannot say enough what an awesome job they did. We built a three room addition for my mother. They listened to our plan, made suggestions along the way to improve, made a reasonable schedule and stuck to it (many times done earlier than projected). They built two rooms, one with a kitchenette along with a full bath with walk-in shower. They are honest, skilled professionals. They went over and above our expectations even installing railings and shelving at the end of the project

Mostly, my complaint is with the contractor's rude attitude. Mistakes were made, such as hole in the ceiling because of his guy stepped on a pipe upstair, new floor scratched because of transporting a tub, carpet accidentally ripped so I had to replace the flooring for a whole bedroom eventhough I had no intention (extra expenses for me for the floor), guest toilet tank cracked, etc. Sure, the contractor made the necessary repairs, but he did not say sorry at all. I brushed it off. Another attitude problem: If you say something that he disagrees, expect a full page of lecture, sometimes with all caption, like: YOU... and NOT! First impression with him was I was asking would it be possible for him to come take a look and give a quote on a weekend since that was the only time I could without having to take some time off from work? His reply was one full page long, i kid you not, lecturing me how he is a deacon at a church, a husband, a father, and has to help with his daughter's homework etc etc. A simple "no" would suffice. I brushed this off, too, thinking that maybe this contractor was a senior, but apparently he wasn't. Also, if he texted you something and you forgot what it was, and you're texting with him, so you figure why don't I ask him now, his reply will be: "Look at my text several days ago" instead of just answer it in one word, like at 5 pm or whatnot. If you're too involved, like telling: after this, can you do this? His answer will be like: Yes, we know! We do this for a living! So, I took that in mind. And, one time the corner wall was obviously patched up very wavy, and I didn't tell him mid day because I thought they'd get to it later before they wrapped up for the day. Then, the day ended and his guys went home. I checked and it was not done. I texted him and he said: why didn't you tell them?? Well, I thought you said your guys are a pro and a pro would definitely notice that! My last straw with him was after a couple of months, the kitchen ceiling downstair was leaking. His guy came and found out that the leak was from an old corroded pipe that they didn't handle. True, but the leaking corroded pipe is right next to (hand in hand with) the new pipe that they replaced for the full gut bathroom renovation. The bathroom was full gutted: floor, wall, and ceiling. He didn't care to mention about the corroded pipe to me? His answers are: - the plumber didn't see it (Well, to change the new pipe, you would have to handle the corroded pipe), - it's not corroded, it's just a discoloration - nobody would care to mention it because you don't fix what's not broken. You wait until it breaks THEN you fix it. So, when the upstair bathroom floor was fully opened, I should not replace the corroded pipe. Wait until it leaks, then just put a hole on the kitchen ceiling downstair?? This made no sense to me. I found a new plumber (a nice guy, heaven sent) said all it needed was a little cleaning on the pipe (I believe it was called 'Flux'), and the leak would not happen. And he also said that he should just clean the pipe, and he definitely saw that corroded pipe. The bathroom renovation journey was very frustrating with Hawk. Had i found 2 bad reviews from other people who called him rude and obnoxious, I would think twice before I hired him. Most of his guys or subcontractors that he used, like the one who accidentaly ripped out my carpet are in fact really nice. I like them eventhough they made mistakes. It's just that the contractor is the one you deal with... on a daily basis.. for 2 months......@@

They had it done and complete within a weeks time. I was blown away by the quality and speed of their service. Highly recommend. They even handled my insurance directly for me. It was perfect ending to a bad suprise.

The job was done perfectly. They were prompt and did a great job cleaning up. Although the extra insulation (to R-44, well above code, per my request) did not resolve the entirety of my cooling issues, the owner came by to inspect everything and gave me some recommendations for how to improve the situation, including giving me references -- this was not an upsell of his services. Highly recommended.

    Standard Insulating Company
He was refreshingly honest and told me my insulation was okay and didn't need to be replaced despite another company trying to sell me on an insulation job.  He was also very helpful as we discussed possible issues and solutions.

Great, I bought the big deal and things flowed from there. In and out and professionally done. The attack tent I got in the deal cost more than the deal itself and I got 200 sq ft of insulation to boot!

    Eager Beaver Handyman Service
It went very well.  The only unanticipated problem was the soffit vent I had purchased was too large.  Shane was unable to find a smaller version at Lowe's so he made modifications to the one I'd bought.  It worked very well.  Shane goes the extra mile to make sure the job is done correctly.  I'm very pleased with his work.  The owner (the other Shane) agreed to provide the service at an hourly rate comparable to the Angie's List pre-purchase price.

    Green Frog Waterproofing
We were contacted by Andrew, who came and did a free inspection of the crawlspace and confirmed that there was evidence of moisture infiltration.  He took humidity readings of the air and different points in the wood beams and also showed us areas of "efflorescence" where water had seeped through the cinder-block walls and left behind salt deposits.  He recommended installing an underground drain around the perimeter of the crawlspace to channel water out of the area before it could sit and cause humidity problems as well as a new vapor barrier since the old one was so torn up.  He also recommended installing underground drainage from all of the gutters to move that water away from the foundation, as well.  He actually provided us with 3 different options that we could choose from depending on how much money we wanted to spend, all the way from just the vapor barrier to a fully encapsulated and conditioned crawlspace.
The crew was actually able to come out a few days earlier than scheduled and finished the job in 2 days.  They even took care of repairing some irrigation pipe that was broken by their ditch-witch (because I didn't know where it was located being the new owner of the home), even though they weren't obligated to do so.  After all the digging was done, they regraded the area and seeded with quality seed which quickly grew back.  Andrew came by for the final inspection and even provided a free Hygrometer so that we could monitor the humidity.  Overall, we were very pleased with the work done and will definitely use Green Frog in the future for some other yard drainage that we need to do.

    Weather Pro Roofing & Insulation
The owner Kris, was very patient and give a wonderful demonstration of how the barrier works prior to my decision to proceed with the application. He was very professional and courteous and thorough in his demonstration. His team was there the same weekend they were extremely professional and very courteous and extremely fast. The entire process took less than two days. From the start to the finish it was a class act. I would highly recommend Kris his team for any homeowner. I feel like I made a valuable improvement to my home and one that will have a long-lasting implications for my energy consumption and the costs involved. I give my highest recommendation for this company to any homeowner who would like to make a lasting an important improvement to their home. I am estimating that the process increased the value of my home by $10,000 easily. In the last two months I have seen heating bills down by over 40%from the prior year. If you want to do something great for your home and for the environment call Chris at Weather Pro for a free in-home estimate.

The service went well. The staff was very professional and did a nice job. I had to pay additional for more insulation that they suggested. It was between $500-$700 in additional costs. I did not expect to have to pay that much more for the service. I had no difficulties with scheduling.
