    Mr. Dingess, (owner of Mr. Appliance of Coastal Carolina in Ocean Isle Beach)) promptly returned my call and gave me a specific day and hour to expect the service call. I appreciated not having to wait around for a 4-5 hour window of time on the day of service. He arrived as scheduled with all of the necessary equipment to diagnose and repair the problem. Gave advance information about the total cost for service call, parts and labor. Accepts checks and credit cards. Conveniently, there is the option to schedule an appointment on line, provide model and serial number of the appliance as well as give details of the problem. Impressive customer service- professional, knowledgeable and responsive. Would highly recommend Mr. Appliance of Coastal Carolina both all types of appliance repair!!

    Waited all day for repairman. When I called next day to find out why he didn't come he claimed they called my number and no one answered. Must have called wrong number. I told him never mind and he hung up on me. Won't be calling them ever again.

    I contacted A-1 while visiting my 81 y/o father. This person working for this company, I think his name was Jimmy, was rude on the phone when I contacted A-1 for the service . I told him it would not drain and wouldn't drain the soap out. It continued to run. Said would come in the AM which was not a problem. They arrived between 8 & 9 . I was dressing so my Dad met them , took them to the kitchen. My dad wanted me to explain the problem so they waited maybe 10 minutes for me to come to the kitchen. I came in the kitchen and the A-1 person looked at me and said "so it won't drain and you had water all over the floor and what else?" I replied, "That is NOT what I said, what I said was it would not drain. I never said it was overflowing." He said there is nothing wrong with it ! I replied well good. He said you just used too much soap. He had opened the dishwasher door looked in and said yep too much soap. He never ran the dishwasher. He sat down in our living room, commented on something on TV, WROTE A TICKET FOR $80.00. I wrote a check and he and partner left. He never ran the washer or even turned it on. We attempted to run the washer, with no soap, and the same results. Would not stop, would not drain, some soap in the bottom. I was angry, that afternoon I called back, told him the washer was NOT working and I needed him to come back and earn that $80 I paid that morning. He asked if the minute cycle had a 1 on it and continued to run? I said yes. He said that is the drain pump controller. I just ordered one for another dishwasher just like yours. My anger elevated because he was snippy on the phone, rude to me. I am certain I was rude in return. But I would have thought if you encountered the same the day before with the same brand dishwasher you would have checked that. I called A-1 today may 9 and cancelled his returning on Tuesday with a &130.00 part , which I found on line for $85-90. I will never call this business again! He was such a jerk to my father as well as me.

    Excellent.  Phoned for appointment time, called the day of the appointment because he was running ahead of schedule and asked if it was possible to come earlier.  Not a problem.  Very professional, knew what he was doing, showed me what was wrong and explained why the problem occurred.  Would definitely recommend this person and if needed, I would definitely use his services again.

    Quick and efficient. This is the second time I have used A-1 Appliance Repair. Great work performed on time and efficiently. Service is very prompt.
    A service call of $80 seems to be included in every call. However, I was not charged labor for the second call where the repair only took about ten minutes. That was appreciated.

    He looked at the icemaker for about ten seconds and said it needed to be replaced (I don't dispute that). He then checked into the cost and said it would be somewhere between $200 and $250 (I don't remember exactly, though he gave me a specific amount). Then he told me I owed him $70 just for looking at it, and that the $70 would NOT be applied to the cost if I went ahead with the repair, bringing the total over $300. Then, as though doing me a favor, he said he would not charge another $70 in addition to repair cost if I went ahead and had it done. 1) It was my mistake to not ask what they charged for a service call, but they are supposed to tell you regardless. 2) I think $70 is an outrageous service call charge, especially in this area. 3) Service call charges are usually applied to repair costs.

    Dryer would would not start (after doing one load). After checking the Whirlpool site and some Youtube self instruction sites, I attempted to repair myself. Bought two parts (Thermal Fuse and door switch). Turned on dryer and still did not work. Needed a quick repair from a reputable company, since we do not live here permanetly. Checked and quot;Angies Listand quot; (as I always do) and read some of the local and quot;A Ratedand quot; listings. I saw several good listings and choose A-1 Appliance Repair which was nearby. Repairman showed up the and quot;same dayand quot; and within the stated time period. After checking the dryer and testing the voltage from the socket, he stated it was not the dryer and there must be a problem between the and quot;socket and the circuit breakerand quot;. Although this wasn't the news I wanted to hear, the repairman said I would have to check with a local electrician. He did provide a name on one that they use. The reason for this review was that the repairman and quot;DID NOT CHARGE FOR THE SERVICE CALLand quot;. To me, the and quot;GOOD WILLand quot; established by this jesture will guarantee my business for and quot;anyand quot; furture appliance need. Hopefully those that read this will agree.
    After the repairman left, a neighbor and I turned off the circut breaker and pulled out the socket. We noticed the and quot;redand quot; wire was loose and tightened it, returned the socket and turned on circuit breaker (circuit breaker was tested a couple of times by me and the repair man prior). Turned on dryer and it worked..... The repairman was correct, it was in the socket. I now have two spare inexpensive parts, but most importantly, I feel I now have a local appliance repair service I can feel confident with.

    He ripped me off for $137.00.  He said the noise was for bearings lose.  I called and he said he would come.  I called three times.  It was 3 weeks after he was here that another part blew.  I don’t think he was honest.  He should have said I can fix this, but this other part will go soon and I should get it fixed now.

    The repairman was running a little early, and he called me to say he was on his way. I was able to meet him at home, and he quickly diagnosed the problem as stripped gears on the icemaker. He quickly installed a new icemaker. I'm pleased with the promptness, the call ahead and the service. Will call them again.
