    Cutting Edge Stone Works
Cutting Edge Stone Works has a policy, as stated by their representative, that they deal only with a person's contractor. If you are a person who wants transparency, and likes to handle their own decisions, this is not the company for you. All other stores that carry countertops have been more than happy to give prices, discuss the details of the order and even samples, however, Cutting Edge Stone Works will only speak with your contractor regarding the details of your order. Not cool.

Tracy and Dale were wonderful to work with. We would recommend making an appointment so you can get the best use of their individual attention, as they are very busy in and out of the office. They helped us choose the right color and style for our kitchen and the project was completed about a week later.
We had visited many granite warehouses, but decided that quartz was the way we wanted to go, and their quote was very reasonable. We wanted to know how they fabricated, what the installation procedure was, the quality of their services, etc. They took us on a tour of the fabrication area, and explained everything in detail. The email and telephone response time was very prompt. This was our first experience at remodeling, as well as countertop installation, so we had lots of questions, and were pleased at their patience and guidance.
The person that came to do the template was engaging and listened to our needs, as well as gave great attention to detail in suggesting other ideas that we would not have thought of. We had a large section of quartz that would be left over, so we chose to do another countertop in the hobby room, to use up the material.
They asked us if  we wanted to look at the slab before fabrication, providing us with a photo by email;  and we stopped by with a camera to snap some shots of their shop at work on our counter, which was fascinating.
The  men who came to do the install were also detail oriented, taking great care not to damage walls, appliances, etc while taking the old countertops off. The process took about 5 hours, which included installing an under-mount sink, working around a downdraft oven, and leveling out one of the countertops that was in the hobby room on some pretty rough and uneven cabinets.
The next day Andre came to install the kitchen backsplash with the travertine tile and accents that we had selected. We had put up a suggested template, and he took it from there, improving on our ideas and doing a superb job.
We highly recommend this company if only because everyone works together so well. They are not as large as some of the bigger outfits, but we liked the fact that they were closer to our location, their bid was very reasonable, and that they used quality materials with extremely quality people to install. I'm sure that if we had chosen granite, they would have helped us pick out the perfect slab as well.

At the beginning of our search for remodeling our kitchen countertops, and in looking at the Angie's list of providers, we stopped by Imported Stone without an appointment to see what they had to offer and look over their showroom.
We were immediately greeted by Teri, who gave us lots of attention and information, especially considering we did not have an appointment. Not knowing what we wanted, they gave us a tour of their samples and then a list of granite warehouses we might want to visit to help narrow down the options.
We live almost 1.5 hours away, but they were willing to do business with us, gave us an initial quote, and then continued to email and answer any questions we might have.
If we had lived closer, we would definitely have chosen them as our fabricators, due to their attention to detail and willingness to listen to our needs. The decision not to make several 3 hour round trips is on us, and no reflection on their services.
If you are considering renovating, we would definitely suggest stopping by and talking with them.

Carolina's Stone Marble & Granite Inc
At the beginning of our search for remodeling our kitchen countertops, and in looking at the Angie's list of providers, we called Carolina's Stone Marble and Granite and explained an outline of what we thought we wanted in countertops and asked for a general quote. We live almost 1.5 hours away, but Andre was  willing to do business with us, and was extremely accommodating in useful suggestions.
We made the trip to Monroe and found him and associates very willing to work with us,  very responsive in emails, and very reasonable in his quote.
If we had lived closer, we would have given them more consideration in using them as our fabricators, due to their attention to detail and willingness to listen to our needs. The decision not to make several 3 hour round trips is on us, and no reflection on their services.
If you are considering renovating, we would definitely suggest stopping by and talking with them.

Working with Jeff at Imported Stone great. We came to Imported Stone after having two granite selections from the local big box store fall through because of back order of preferred granite. Called Imported Stone and Jeff walked us through where to selected the granite we wanted, scheduled template and install all within 1 1/2 weeks from the time I called them. Installers were very professional, clean and did a wonderful job on the installation of the granite. Could not have been happier with the whole process.

Athena's installer, Nick, came out to measure the space we had for a shower. He suggested removing a small wall that housed a cavity for the plumbing for my old shower so that we could fit a 60" shower in the space. We agreed that was the best thing to do, and we proceeded. Nick had us order a standard 60" shower base for the install. We also decided to purchase a corner seat and a recessed soap dish. A few days later, Nick arrived with two helpers and installed the shower. I was home, in another room watching TV. When Nick completed the install, he called me to the bathroom to see his work. I was amazed to see what looked like a 'double' wall on the left side (see the pictures).
Nick stated that he had to do this because the area that the shower was installed in was too wide. He is the one that came out and measured and told us what size shower we needed! He also could have taken a few steps around to the other room where I was watching TV when he realized there was an issue to let me know and discuss options. He did not. Nick wanted to make and add a 3/4" trim piece on the left side to cover the strange look of the wall. I told him before he left that I was willing to see what the trim piece looked like.
After Nick left, I took a closer look at what he did to that wall. There was a huge (~1/2') gap between the marble and the sheet rock on the top line of that wall. I could put my fingers in that gap and feel the pieces of sheet rock that he used to shim that wall out. I also then noticed that there was a large amount of caulking at the bottom of the front of that wall near the base. I decided that I would not accept a trim piece covering these issues, and that I wanted that wall removed and fixed correctly. I could not see paying the $2158 for this shower until these issues were fixed correctly.
I called the office at Athena the next morning. The woman there said that Nick would call me that day (Friday). He did not. I called again Monday morning and talked to Leigh Ann. I got her email address and sent her pictures of the issues with the wall, and clearly stated that I would not accept a trim piece to cover the problems up, and that I would only accept them removing that wall and repairing it correctly. I never heard back from Leigh Ann so I emailed again the next day. She got back to me a few hours later and said Nick was coming out to the house the next day (Wednesday).
Nick came out around 3:30 WITH THE TRIM PIECE! I immediately said that I would not be satisfied with that, and Nick said that they would just remove the shower then, that he was 'not going to argue about it'. I told him if they wouldn't fix it correctly, to take it out. They did. About an hour later he pulled out with the shower back in his truck. He never even let me know when he was done, he just pulled off. I have some minor drywall damage from the removal, I guess I'll have to eat that cost along with the amount of time I wasted with this company.
There are plenty of other businesses that sell marble and granite. I strongly suggest staying away from Athena Marble, Inc.

Our experience was excellent with them.  From the initial phone conversation through the actual installation, they were very friendly, helpful, and professional.  They were very patient with us as we selected the granite.  They did an excellent job measuring the countertops including the various corners and and bends around walls.  They provided each of the pieces of granite without seams which enhanced the attractiveness of the counters.  By not including seams, they had to work very hard to get the granite installed.  They cleaned up completely after the job was finished.  Overall a GREAT job!!
