Insulation reviews in Pittsboro

    Crawlspace Doctor
Brad Dehring and his crew did an outstanding job. They were prompt, courteous, and professional. They completed the work in precisely the amount of time and for the amount of money estimated and left no debris behind despite this being a very messy job. They removed all the old fiber glass insulation, cleaned and protected the wood fixtures, installed a new lower barrier, sealed all vents, created and inflow and outflow conduits to our HVAC, and coordinated with an electrician to install an auto-monitoring sump pump. I highly recommend them.

    Regional Waterproofing Inc
Von Bullock came to the house, inspected our crawl space and provided an estimate for two jobs: first replacing old insulation batting between the floor supports with a moisture barrier and insulation that covered the ground under the house and extended up the foundation walls, and second to add foundation supports. He was very knowledgeable about the type of work to be done. Before our meeting he sent materials on the importance of the work to be done, then the meeting lasted three hours and he did his best to sell us what appeared to be more than we needed. For example, the moisture barrier he first mentioned was a certain thickness, but he was willing to give us a 'special' deal on a thinner barrier that was similar to what the competition was recommending. Another example, while we asked for estimates for the two jobs listed above, Regional Waterproofing was at the high end for both estimates, and some competitors that could do both jobs indicated that the foundation support may not be necessary. I thought Regional Waterproofing gave us a sales job rather than a professional estimate.

Crawl Space & Basement Technologies LLC
Jason provided a detailed estimate of the cost, with options for other work that might be done. Besides a moisture problem under the house and the resultant insect infestation, we had questions about the floors sagging. He said the sagging was not serious, and while CSBT could raise the floor if we wished it was not necessary at this time. That indicated to me that he was interested in doing a reasonable job rather than making a little extra money. Three different crews came out on different days to perform different steps in the process of removing the old insulation, cleaning insect waste from the wooden supports, providing a new moisture barrier and insulation, and cutting a drain through the crawl space wall. All of the crews were punctual and professional. The only hang-up was in the scheduling. The original plan was that the work would be done on three consecutive workdays, Thursday, Friday and Monday, but Jason postponed that the day's work by one day without telling us. This was a minor glitch. Overall, the work was well done, and the workers were courteous and professional.

    The Mold Solutions Group
I got a very quick response to my initial call. Subsequent actions -- inspection, provision of an estimate, the work itself, and follow-up -- were performed promptly and when promised. We received quick and courteous responses to all of our questions. The estimate was accurate, and the costs seemed reasonable. Overall, we had a really good experience with this company and would not hesitate to recommend them to any other homeowner.

    Lowe's of Pittsboro
This new insulation is three times more expressive than the fiber glass insulation. Once I submitted the order for insulation, it went to the local Lowe's for them to order. I gave them a couple of days before I called them. Once I called them, they told me that they lost the order! They were pretty quick in getting the actual order to the store once they realized they lost it. After they got all of the insulation in from the manufacture, they shipped it to my house for free. I hired a local business to instal the insulation. Now that they insulation is up, it looks beautiful and it works fabulous.

    Allied Spray Foams Inc
Sonny and team arrived on time and worked efficiently to complete the work in about 6 hours. Placement of the insulation looks perfect with no gaps for heat loss or gain to the outside. Outcome way exceeded my expectation.

He is very good. They are unbelievable. They do everything; they come in and test the house for home efficiency. They gave us a report and then we can slowly decide what we want to do. We first did the vapor barrier. Then we'll do the insulation and go from there. Their guys will come out and do the work. If we don't use their guys, our guess is that they will recommend someone to do the work. We were extremely impressed with the company.

Energy efficiency audit was conducted in less than a day (2 buildings).  Testing was thorough as was the resulting report which was very detailed. The report included a series of prioritized steps to increase the energy efficiency of our home which I have been following steadily ever since.  The resulting energy savings have been quite substantial (averaging about $75 per month).

The crawlspace encapsulation was accomplished quickly and methodically with characteristic thoroughness.   All vapor barriers were fully secured, holes sealed, and all seams properly taped.  The result is a crawl space that is dry, extremely clean, mold and rot free, making the house more energy efficient and a healthier place to be.

    Home Performance NC
I own a 1912 home that is a bed & breakfast. The utility bills were terrible and I decided it was time to weatherize. Mark showed professional expertise right from the start. He kept me informed of every step along the way, made sure he came only when it was convenient (as we have paying guests on many days), did everything that was promised quickly and efficiently. And speaking of efficiency - the gas company recomputed my "equal payments" bill in January, and reduced it by 27%. If the electrical company does the same thing this summer, these improvements will pay for themselves in a year and a half. Not only does weatherization save money, the house is more comfortable, with a more constant temperature and no drafts. I highly recommend Mark from Home Performance NC to do this type of work because he is thorough, reliable, and does a superior job.
