    Leaves Out
The estimate was good and did not change after the job was done. There were no hidden fees, no "rebates" needed as the cost was good considering the quality. I love the guards and they are working perfectly. He cleaned the gutters inside and out as well as he blew off the roof, deck and porch. He left no trace that he had even been here except for a lovely system and clean gutters! The warranty is exceptional. I know they will come and fix any issue that comes up. I would hire them again and have told several friends about the great work done on my home.

very well, easy to work with. Work performed on vacation cottage in our absence. He worked quickly and we were not required to make the 7 hour trip to supervise his progress. He sent many pictures as the work progress.ed

    JOE CHAPMAN ROOFING
A dumpster was brought in, the old shingles removed, new 30 year shingles installed, ground was swept with magnets to pick up dropped nails, all waste was removed. This was all done in one day, and this is a very large roof.

It went GREAT!  We are looking forward to seeing them again soon for a new roof estimate and cool design for

the front of our home.  Kirby was full of suggestions to make our home "pop" and have some "bling"......we are

excited to see what he comes up with next week.

    LEES SCREEN SERVICE
Having used Lee's service before to clean structure, repair torn screens and being delighted with his responsiveness, I called to find out if his men could remove the accumulated leaves and pine straw that was in the joined areas of enclosure and roof gutters.  I normally would do this challenging task but was unable to due to recent injury.  His men arrived in a timely fashion, review ALL areas to make sure they cleaned all affected areas and performed the task in a complete and timely fashion.
With the roof pitch and height of the structure, it was important that safety was paramount and also having them covered by their own insurance I did not concern myself about repercussions as I would if I had another non-licensed group do it.
They cleaned up the debris that was blown and swept off the structure and completed the job to my satisfaction.

    JOE CHAPMAN ROOFING
The roof is a large, complex one with many hips and valleys, 3 skylights and a light tube. Joe's team of proficient roofers completed the work in minimal time in between rain storms during one of the wettest seasons on record in Transylvania county. Craftsmanship and materials appear to be top quality. The job site cleanup was meticulous with repeated combing of the lawns etc. with magnetic rakes.
There have been no leaks or other issues so far.
Joe is easy to communicate with and I have confidence he will stand behind his work.

    Higher Ground Rainwater Systems
This group comes EXACTLY when they say will come.  For gutter work you don't even need to be home.  This is a messy job and bu the time they finished all was clean as can be.  I will use them again and again!  Thank you Higher Ground!

    Asheville Area Construction Inc
Jeff came out and quoted the job. New Construction - zip roof 1/2 thick. Integrity Metal Roofing.
Jeff sent out 3 Mexican workers to do the work. This was not a problem since they normally do a good job.
The workers installed the roofing, but many problems existed. I contacted Jeff Woods, who addressed them with the lead person.
They then ran out of roofing material. I am an Engineer and had ordered several panels of excess for 'assurance'. There was many panels cut improperly - so excessive scrap existed, therefore casuing a material shortage. They made a list of materials and I purchased them.
They installed these panels - and had two left over Many problems existed still. Jeff sent them back. After several days (an hour or so here and there), they stopped coming out.
After awhile, Jeff sent me a text, asking for a check.
I called him and again expressed my dissatisfaction. I asked that he come and look at the roof. with me He sent his guys out again and then called me and left a message a few days later stating that he needed me to send a check or he would have to put a lein against my house.
I called him and again asked that he come out to look at the house with me. I put it in writing to him that I was not satisfied and that the job had the following problems:
    - Missing screws
    - Missing seal tape
    - dented panels
    - missing grommets on panels
    - screws too far apart (3 foot)
He sent out a new crew (two guys), whom agreed that the job was unacceptable.
The made several notes - and a long list of materials that they needed to replace. They ordered the materials. Jeff texted me and said that there were some problems and that the new guys were going to address it, but some of the problems was my poor substrate -(I used Zip roof) that was causing the waviness of the panels. (NOTE: zip roof is some of the best material - substrate not the problem)
Two weeks later, they starting removing the damaged panels and installing new panels. The new guys said that the install they were removing was not a typical job (That the Mexican guys did) and was totally unacceptable. They said they would get it fixed right.
After several days, the guys had most of the new panels on.
Jeff asked me to inspect the roof. I called him and asked him to come out and look at it with me. He agreed.
We are now 3 months into this.
Jeff went out and then sent me a text and quot;Roof looks good can you please send a check nowand quot;. I called him back irate. Jeff is supposed to be a home inspector? I did not even have to get up on the roof to see numerous deficiencies. He never called me and came out to look at it with me.
Specifically the following problems were documented:
-- missing screws (screw was there - but no longer)
    -- Screws not seated completely
-- screws installed in wrong locations (no seal)
-- trim panels with no screws in first two foot of panel
-- dented panel still exists (still left from months ago - pictures sent to Jeff in Aug)
This is not even mentioning the trash that was picked up from them after each visit. I picked up over 500 screws from the ground as well.
Jeff apologized and backpeddled and said that he did not go up on the roof - that he looked at it from the ground. Really? After numerous complaints, he 1) did not get with me to go out there?, and 2) did not even go up a ladder to look? Professional?
I would not hire these guys to put a roof on my doghouse. Sorry Jeff - hope your other skills can make you a living - cause metal roofing is not good. Oh - you do not do the work- just quote, send guys out, and collect checks.
Jeff did not agree to go out and meet me to inspect / look at the issues I told him about. He did not dispute them either. He asked if I would meet one of the two guys that was out there last and show him every problem while he fixed it. I refused, asking him to meet me.
We are now over six months into this.
Jeff sends his guys out, or goes out himself without any notification. After repeatedly asking him to meet me he has not done so.
Latest - Wed 11/21/12 Jeff sends a text (Really? No phone call ) stating that he and one other guy went out and 'finished the roof' and for me to look it over.
High hopes, little expectations... They put in a few screws - and spray painted large swath of the roof. Many problems still exist. I will post pictures!

Jan 6, 2013 update / response to the Provider Response: I agree that the problems were addressed, but in no way were completed satisfactory to any standards - the roof can and will leak with holes - the roof looks like it is 40 years old - not just installed. Jeff states and quot;some damaged panelsand quot; - 1/3 of the roof was replaced.
Regarding not a place for debate - - I agree - FACTS are stubborn things. ALL the pictures you see are of the roof as it exists today. The missing screws are still missing. The rust is still evident. The damaged panels still exist, etc etc...

One note for Angies List members: Angies List has offered me a 'arbitration' service - if I accept and the complaint is rectified, they will and quot;remove my negative rating automaticallyand quot;. This, to me, is not acceptable - People sign-up to Angies List to get the TRUTH on the services they are spending there hard earned money for.

    - Update - Jeff and a couple of his guys came out - Much touch-up paint was applied to my new roof to cover the scratches. None of the damaged panels were replaced. The screws were tightened and replaced.
