    I called to book the appointment about two months ago. Since that time, I did not receive a follow up or reminder phone call to check my insurance or information. I arrive early for my appointment today, assuming that I would need to fill out paperwork, but am told that I needed to get a referral. That information would've been nice to know when I booked the appointment. I will not be rescheduling.

    I've been using him for about 15 years. A neighbor recommended him. He's very smart and he manages a special eye condition that my husband has for the ophthalmologist, because the closet ophthalmologist is over an hour away.

    She has got a great bedside manner. She is great with children. I saw her as well as my daughter. She was able to convince my daughter to get glasses. She is just all around, a very good, thorough doctor. I'm  very happy with them.

    I go to Dr. Doty. He always uses new and innovative equipment, it's easy to get appointments, he's always available for questions and you can contact his office and they get back to you. They have a really friendly staff.

    A little back logged to check in, but once started, very quick and flexible. My wife and I checked in at the same time. To exam room as soon as finished and eye doctor came in almost immediately. Excellent visit.

    The one complaint I have about the Coastal Carolina Eye Clinic is their appointment scheduling, which is exasperating! Your name may be called 10-15 minutes after your scheduled appointment if it is in the morning. If your appointment is in the afternoon, you are not called for at least 30 minutes past your appointment. A tech will do some preliminary testing which takes about 5 minutes, then you are put in yet another waiting room until an examination room becomes available. You will wait in that room for another 20-30 minutes before going into an examination room. Another tech will do a vision check and put drops in your eyes. Then you will have to wait for another 20 minutes until the Dr. comes in. By the time you see the Dr., it is usually one and a half hours past your scheduled appointment. This is routine procedure. While sitting in the second waiting room, I've talked with other patients and have found on many occasions there are at least two patients scheduled for the same Dr. at the same time!!!
    My husband had an appointment today at 1:20. The Dr. finally came into the examining room at 3:00 pm. That is ridiculous!!!
    I'm used to waiting a few minutes to see a doctor, and I don't think my time is so valuable that I should be seen immediately. However, their appointment scheduling is so flawed as to be meaningless. I only continue to go because I have a lot of faith and confidence in Dr. Chance. But I am shopping around for another Dr. as it appears they have way more patients than they can reasonably accommodate.

    They just did a routine eye examination. The doctors are very confident there. My husband had a cataract surgery and they seem to be at the top of everything. His eyes are good now, and he had the surgery couple of years ago. They did the surgery on one of the eyes and they are waiting to see when the other eye needs a surgery, but it hasn't progressed enough. He is not in pain, his vision is worst, it is cloudy. It is really an easy fix.

    He is connected with Coastal Eye Clinic. I have known him for several years, but I have used him just once because I have just reached a stage where I need to see an ophthalmologist. I was very pleased with him. I worked with his wife, and that's how I knew him personally. He was very personable and very caring. He was also very comforting. I didn't have to get an appointment in advance, and it was not an emergency or anything. If I had an emergency I think he would take care of things. The office environment is fine. The staff is a very good. He is very friendly and easy going as well.

    He is very knowledgeable. He works with me in that I wear contacts and he has tried all kinds of different contacts; I go back and get checked and if I am having a problem, he will get me a different one. He doesn't charge me for every single appointment that I go in for, like followups. He is not satisfied until we are satisfied. He is really excellent. I have had people say that they felt like he was a little more expensive than others. I do have insurance, so that doesn't affect me as much, but it's worth it as it's my eyes. I did have a tear in my retina and he recognized it and sent me to a specialist right away. He was at one time, if not presently, the President of the North Carolina State Association of Optometrists. Obviously, he is well recognized among his peers. I would recommend him to a friend or family member, and I would definitely visit him again in the future.

    It was the first eye exam I had and eye glasses I received where when I put them on I could actually see and I had no problem. All the other times either one eye was pulling or the other eye couldn't see but in that clinic my glasses were perfect. I called a friend of mine to come down here and get her glasses. They are really great. They were excellent.
