  • The office provides a pleasant atmosphere for families and kids. It was not difficult to make an appointment and the staff was friendly.
The therapist I saw was someone I had seen before at a different practice and followed over to CASVA. The family therapy sessions were constructive and goal oriented.

  • Dr. Steel and his staff were very pleasant. I had an appointment with Dr. Steel very promptly after I was referred by my primary care physician. Dr. Steel was very thorough throughout the appointment and listened to all symptoms related to the migraines. He had reviewed my medical history prior to the appointment and already had several options that he felt were feasable for treatment. Needless to say, after several tests and visits to Dr. Steel's office, my migraines have completely stopped and I am now able to function normally. I would definitely recommend Dr. Steel to anyone. He really took the time to listen and explain his treatment options.

  • I see him twice a year and I'm due to go back on March 14th.  I wouldn't go see anybody else.  As far as I'm concerned he is the best in this area.  His office is clean and good.  Sometimes they are really busy so I wait for an hour or an hour and a half.  The last visit that I had there, I didn't have to wait for more than thirty minutes.  The staff's good.

  • The staff is pretty friendly. They are pretty flexible on the scheduling. She definitely listens to me and she takes time with each patient. That can be good and bad; she will sit and listen to what her patients say but that can put her behind. If I have an appointment later in the day, I will have to sit and wait. She seems to be a great doctor.

  • After 30 days of worrying that I might have a brain tumor at the age of 41, I arrived at my follow up appointment very anxious and nervous. When Dr. Steel walked in and sat down with my husband and myself we exchanged pleasantries. Then he said "So is this your first time here?" I couldn't believe it! I don't expect a doctor to remember every patient, especially one that he's only seen one time. However, I do expect him to actually look at my chart AND my test results before he walks into the exam room. It wasn't like I was there with a scraped elbow. I was there to review 2 very serious tests that could literally determine life or death for me. That's what charts are for. He admitted that he had not looked over my chart. He then flipped through a couple of pages and said "Okay, you have epilepsy". Just like that. Then he stated that he would have to go to another computer to take a look at my MRI results. He left the room and I flipped out. My husband and I couldn't believe that he had not looked at my test results before this very moment. What if I had a brain tumor? Would not that have been a good thing to know before I arrived? When he came back into the room I was very upset and explained to him through tears that I was disappointed that he hadn't bothered to look at ANY of my test results before right now. He responded that it wouldn't have mattered he would have had to relook at them anyway. He explained to me that he saw a lot of patients and he couldn't be expected to remember anything about any of them. I told him that clearly I was only a chart to him but that I was an actual person with feelings and even though this was routine to him it was very serious indeed to me and my family and I would appreciate a little more compassion from him. He told me he didn't understand why I was so angry. I told him I was so angry because I was scared to death. For the last 30 days I had been planning my possible funeral based on what he told me in my first visit with him and not one hour had gone by that I had not thought of the possibility of a brain tumor/brain cancer and it was a bit disheartening to find out that not one time had he even thought about me or the tests he had ordered for me. I know he has many other patients but any self respecting doctor does not step into an exam room uninformed. Unless they just don't care about the patients which I absolutely believe is the case here. Our session ended (the whole time in his exam room was only about 15 minutes) with him telling me that perhaps I would like to get a second opinion from a physician who offered more "hand holding", his words not mine. So apparently to Dr. Steel, me wanting to know my test results in a compassionate, caring manner required too much "hand holding" for him. I think he's probably good with the science of neurology but he has no people skills whatsoever. I've never been made to feel this way by any physician. There was more pathetic comments by him but I simply don't have enough space for them all. My dog receives more caring treatment from the vet than I received from Dr. Steel.
