    Adroit Building Solutions, LLC
I would recommend Adroit Building Solutions for any building project, remodel, renovations or repairs no matter how great or small. Let me first say that in retrospect Adroit came armed with the knowledge that not a single project comes without times where stress and complications arise with the potential to take their toll on both the family and the contractor, subcontractors etc. Chris and his dedicated staff turned my cramped and mundane bathrooms, nonexistent laundry space, poorly planned kitchen and dining rooms as well as the various hallways leading to and from into open, more accessible and even dare I say luxurious spaces now enjoyed by the entire family. The crew even took the time and patience to earn the trust and friendship of our pet! During the project our privacy, quality of life and daily routines sustained the minimum of disturbance when considering the very personal types of spaces he and his awesome crewman worked in. I especially want to mention how much I appreciated the amount of respect and thought that was conveyed in consideration to my children including but not limited to my eldest who is special needs. I couldn’t ask for a more understanding and seemingly family-oriented group of professionals to be in and out of my home while dealing directly with my dearest family members during what was such a hectic time for us. We will always remember the precision, care to detail and ESPECIALLY the personal interactions that without fail were always observed during the unfolding of various unexpected events and other conditions that could never have been planned for. EVERY staff member treated us with the intent to make us comfortable from the beginning of the process all the way through completion. There always seemed to be a way that our (very necessary daily routines) were allowed for. A big thank you from our family to yours!

    VPC Builders LLC
Amazing. The project manager and carpenters worked with the engineer and did a great job. They came out to go over the project the day I called, and started the work a couple of days later. During the job the carpenters made some suggestions that would help me out later on and I really appreciate their professionalism.

The process definately took longer than expected. With that being said, there were ALOT of add ons that were done that weren't originally on the to-do list. I live in a very old house where nothing is square and the walls and floors are slightly slanted, gotta love the character right?! As the project started and challenges came up, Ethan would point them out and always give me options of what could be done and he would always ask how I wanted to handle them. That alone shows how awesome this team is! Ive had other people help with house projects and they come, do the job that's asked, don't even do it to my liking, take their money and go. That wasn't the case here. I felt like I was included every step of the way. I couldn't be happier with the finished outcome. I consider myself lucky that I came across this company and had them do this project. My upstairs is now so beautiful and I love being up there.

It went well, but took a while. They needed to get a structural engineer to make calculations on the support structure due to the heavier weights of both the fireplace (which is in the screened-in-porch) as well as a future spa (hot tub) location on the deck outside of the porch. Started the process around July 2016 and totally finished in Feb 2017 (time off for 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years) and a 2-week sprint where the subs had to finish some other work they were also on. The main subcontractor Tim used was a perfectionist and did the job right. Yes, there were a few glitches as in any other project, and if there was a problem, Tim got it fixed. What a relief these days! We picked the right contract firm!! Being an engineer, I had made sure that I had detailed specs of what we were looking for, so there was no confusion of what was expected for the job. At the end, I produced a "punch-list" that Tim's crew worked on to finish up the job. Having to deal with an engineer like me for a contractor is a 2-edged sword. On one hand, he knew exactly what we wanted. On the other, having to deal with a Quality Assurance Engineer must have been no picnic for him. Tim was a gentleman throughout and is very honest!

    KEMP SIGMON CONSTRUCTION
Work done on time and in professional manner. Job site cleaned before leaving Other roofing contractors working in subdivision. It was apparent the quality of work done by Kemp as done by others. Additional work, outside original contract, agreed to and provided by Kemp at later date. Work was done in profession manner.

Johnny and Brent are very sensitive to the stress to homeowners when building and are calm and supportive.  They listened, encouraged and gave suggestions that helped us work through the building process.  They were always available when we called and available to answer any questions or concerns we had.  Very impressive qualities are that they are honest, truthful and upfront about any work or costs that is going on.  They make sure that the site is always picked up and require their subcontractors to clean up after themselves.  That was a big deal to us and our neighbors.  We were able to visit the site at any time and if we felt we needed to discuss something going on Johnny would be at our property to meet us. Johnny was on-top of things and kept close tabs on subcontractors and the work they did.  He took great pride in the work being done and made sure it was up to his high standards.  We were able to express to Johnny when we questioned something a subcontractor was doing or we didn't like something.  He worked with the subcontractors to get the issues resolved to our satisfaction.  When I would want to do something different than the "norm" he would question but would go ahead and do it. He realized it was important to keep the home owner happy.  Not always an easy thing to do but he handled it nicely and with a smile.

There were no significant issues over the 6 months of the actual building, other than weather-related delays and minor quality problems that were typically corrected in short order. A crack developed in the basement floor and required some remediation by the responsible subcontractor. The design of the drip cap under the roofing shingles was problematic from am appearance perspective, but we opted to leave it , even though AHP offered to replace it at no cost.  The project superintendent (C. Holloway) was the key to success once the construction began; without his dedication and expertise, it might have been a less successful outcome. He worked easily with us for work we wanted to do (in lieu of the AHP subcontractors) and made accommodations as needed to allow us time to complete our tasks. Many of the subcontractors were Hispanic, but generally the quality of their work was good, although on-the-job communication was at times difficult. It was important to be on the job site frequently and do our own inspections. One subcontractor damaged a security gate with his truck and did not report it, but was held accountable by AHP after we did. Because of the experience with subcontractors, I rated professionalism a "B". The quality of interior finish was generally good, but the painters made judicious use of putty. The interior moldings were all formed pressed fiber instead of wood; after painting, there was no way to tell, although the lack of durability against dings and dents showed up later. The paint on the front porch railings peeled after only a few months and the subcontractor came back to scrape and repaint.. It has since peeled again, but the house is out of warranty. The HVAC balancing was off for two rooms, but the subcontractor came back on two separate occasions and fixed it to our satisfaction. We are entering our third year in the house and love it. There have been no issues related to construction quality at this time.
