Monroe HVAC Contractors Reviews

"Love quoted me the best price around and provided the best service I could ask for. They were always easy to contact, very helpful when I had questions and showed up exactly when they said they would be here. I highly recommend these guys and I will be working with them again in the future.

"The technician showed up earlier than scheduled. He called ahead to make sure it was okay. Unfortunately my husband was the only one home and he works 3rd shift but I was still impressed with the quick response as we had made the appointment the day before.
Once the technician showed up he got right to work. He broke down the furnace and diagnosed it as far as he could. He said the heat exchange was bad and showed my husband exactly what was wrong. He also said there may be other issues with the unit but he would not be able to tell without the heat exchange in working order. He gave us the quote for repair and warned us it would be rather expensive. He also set up an appointment for the same day for a "Comfort Consultant" (love the title!) to come out and quote a new unit for us.
The consultant came out and was just great! Even my dogs liked him! I asked him also to quote a price to switch from gas to heat pump. He took the time to check the unit and look at the electrical box to ensure we could go to a heat pump if we should choose to without having to purchase a new one. We sat at my kitchen table and he provided a quote. It was much more than I expected but he did explain, in great detail and using terms even I could understand, everything that comes with the new unit installation. My father-in-law is in the industry down in Florida so of course we called him to get his opinion on the service and the price. We told him everything we were told by the consultant. My father-in-law assured us it is a great deal and the warranty is one of the best in the business. We are securing financing to have the system replaced and plan on having

"The technician showed up on time after calling to say he was on his way. We told him we were noticing a musty smell when the AC came on, and he said he would take a look at the system and let us know what he found. When I went into the crawlspace to see how the job was going, he showed me where rust had collected in the bend of the drain pipe and where mildew was growing on the inside of the air handler. He explained what he was going to do to clean the system and told me about a UV duct light and air scrubbers that would help control mold, mildew, and bacteria growth. When I mentioned a concern about higher-than-desired humidity levels in the house at certain times of the year, he told me about several dehumidifier options. When he was finished with the job, he came inside and explained everything again to my husband and answered a bunch of questions. He included written estimates for the UV light and the air scrubbers on his invoice for our information. He was helpful, courteous, and easy to work with.
"I had a different company out to inspect my HVAC system as I was selling my home. This other company recommended a duct cleaning, cleaning the indoor & outdoor coils, and replace the capaciter. When Mr.

looked at the items, he said the capaciter did not need replacing and the ducts were clean. He showed me where the other company could not have checked the evaporator (indoor) coil as the silicone seal had not been broken on my unit (so it was clean). He even said my outdoor coil was not that dirty, but I had him clean it anyway just to prove to the buyer that I did something. He was honest, showed up on time, and was very professional. I would recommend him to anyone."
"We got them from Angie's List. They were willing to work under extenuating circumstances and through a third party, because we were out of town. They were very accommodating and cooperative under the circumstances. The price was fair. It has continued to work very smoothly."
"We had hired a general contractor to help us with our remodel of our entire house.

& Heat was who he used for the HVAC work. This contractor did a great job. He ran the calculations and determined that our existing upstairs units were large enough to heat and cool the newly finished sun room (now office and master bath room). This eliminated the new to replace and upsize either of these units. This alone saved us a lot of money. He was able to run the new duct work in the basement as such to minimize the need to lower the ceiling in basement as much as possible.

I had made the decision to change out our old thermostats myself upstairs. When I ran into problems with this since the contractor had to come out and do a start up of the new system he looked at this and fixed the problem quickly. Even after this the old units would not come on. He was able to diagnose the problem (electrical breakers were bad) and let us know what was needed to fix. This allowed us to quickly get an electrician out to fix as we were moving in in just a few days.

I would use this contractor again and would recommend someone else use them as well.
"Very positive experience.

gave me an estimated time of their arrival and were there when they said. Considering this was an after hours service call, they did an amazing job of getting there, completing the work and being very professional and polite. I plan to use this company again for other heating and air conditioning needs."
"Our 20 year old heat pump was making lots of noise, not cooling properly and our electric bill was higher than it should be. I had called two other heating/AC companies who never showed up for the appointments. I hesitated to call

because I had heard they were expensive, but I thought I'd at least see what they had to say. The repairman came out and cleaned the coils and told me the unit was on its last legs. He charged it with freon, and said that the cost would be applied to a new unit if I decided to get one. I scheduled a salesman for the next day. He went over the basics of heat pumps, prices, guarantees, etc. Luckily I have a brother in law (out of state) in the same business who had told me the basics so I wouldn't get ripped off. The price MJ quoted was somewhat higher than I expected, but with hot weather coming we needed the new unit installed. They have a good guarantee with their units, in case I need any service. The installation team came out the next day and finished it all within 10 hours. They installed the heat pump outside, a heat exchanger in our attic, and enlarged the intake vent in the upstairs ceiling, and showed me how to program the thermostat. Reading some of the other reviews I'm not sure we needed the larger vent, but we are happy with the way the unit is cooling. Every one of the men who came out - from repairman, to salesman, to installation team and electrician - were polite, friendly, cleaned up any mess, explained everything fully, and did it all on time. The price of the unit was quite a bit more than I had expected to pay, but we are happy with the overall experience and will use them again when our other heat pump needs service or replacing.

Edited January 2012: The new heat pump is working really well, and our electric bills dropped $30 a month once we had it installed. I'm editing this review to let you know that our other heat pump died in early

2012. I called
Monroe HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
again, even though there are certainly places with lower prices out there. The reason I called is because with them, you don't have to wonder if your repairman or installation team will actually show up. They once again did a great job installing the second heat pump, and we've been very happy (and warm) since they came out. I love knowing that they have a great warranty with their products, and a 24/7 team of repairmen in case we need one. This time they were offering a free ipad with purchase of a new heat pump, so I also got a "free" Christmas gift out of the deal. Thank you

"The installation went well. The crew showed up on time, was neat and careful. The office filed for our rebate from

Energy and supplied the info we'll need for a tax credit. We used this company for replacement of the main house unit a few years ago, it has continued to work well."
"After two weeks of waiting, my schedule was not considered at all. I also have found much better deals on both non-contract repair work and service contracts. I would not use this company in the future."
