    Eanes Heating And Air Conditioning
    We recently purchased our home and wanted to have the HVAC PMd before the warm season. The previous owners weren't the most proactive when it came to maintaining a home so the overall health of the system worried me. I searched Angie's List and found Eanes Heating and Air with their positive reviews and phoned them to schedule an appointment. When I called and explained to the young lady my reason for contacting them, she immediately pulled up the calendar and said she could have someone out later the same day. The service tech (David) arrived and went right to work inspecting my system. It was obvious he was very knowledgeable and I felt confident in his assessment. Once he finished he went over each step of his work and gave me a detailed report of his findings.
    With our previous home we used another provider just because they were the ones that installed the HVAC system. Eanes is head and shoulders above the other company as far as service provided during the PM. I decided to purchase the yearly maintenance program from Eanes based on this very positive experience and I feel confident I won't be disappointed in my decision.

    Old Republic Home Protection
    Our air conditioning units both went out in June.  I called the 800 number and they said a contractor would get in touch with me within 48 hrs.  A week later I received an email saying that they transferred to a different contractor who would get in touch with me within 48 hrs.  I then give them a call to let them know that the temperature inside the house was 88 degrees and that my son has asthma and the heat was not good for him.  They then told me they didn't have a contractor in the area and they were working on getting a contractor to my home.  After 4 weeks they give me the go ahead to get a local contractor to repair it.  I called a local contractor and was able to have one come out the next day.  He did repairs to both units to get them back up and going temporarily and told me that both evaporator coils were leaking and needed to be replaced.  He called the Old Republic and give them an estimate of replacing both coils.  He handed me the phone and they told me that his price was more than their average for that repair and I had to cover the $900.00 difference or use a contractor in their network.  I reminded them that there was not a contractor in their network.  So I had to cover the cost for the contractor to do those repairs and fill coils back up where they were leaking.  After I called for the next two weeks trying to come to a solution with them they tell me they have a contractor in their network to send out.  The contractor comes out and looks at the coils and agrees that they need replacing.  He tells me it will take about 2 to 3 weeks for them to come in.  I continue to wait for 2 months with no response from them.  I start calling them back in October and they tell me that the contractor has not filled out his report with them.  Over the next 2 months I call every other day and responses range from "We have called and left a message for the contractor to contact us" to "the contractor will be out to fix it at the end of the week."  After waiting until January 1 they tell me they would like to "cash out" the claim which means pay me for the repairs needed.  They offer me the $900 less offer and tell me to negotiate with the contractor that I had out to see if they would drop their price to do the repairs.  I tell them that they should up their price because I paid for the warranty and they were the ones that could not provide the services that they offered.  This is the point that we are at now.  I will update again.

    As of the last update they have sent a service tech out to check the coils and his equipment was not working correctly to detect leaks.  Then they decide to order one out of the two coils and fix it.  When it finally arrives the tech makes an appointment and come to the house and after taking my coil out discovers that Old Republic has ordered the wrong coil.  So then I get a phone call a week later offering another cash out for less than the one before and also because the coils that they order is not the same brand of unit that I have that I have to either take the cash out or change the condenser unit outside to match the brand of coil that they get for an additional $3200.00.  They tell me that they are not required to order a brand specific coil and because of a mandate in NC that I will have to either accept their lower cash out value and add to it and get another company to fix the coil or invest 3200.00 in a cheaper condenser to match the cheap coils that they order.  Also the new tech that has come out notices that some work that the original company that Old Republic sent out one time has performed work not up to standard on the condenser units outside which can cause it to short out and ruin the units.  Old Republic has not even acknowledged this every time that I bring it up to them over the phone or the fact that the other evaporator coil needs replacing also.

    From the very beginning to the very end, Rutherford Heating and Air was superb. When the HVAC system of an elderly Korean War Veteran stopped functioning during August I knew I needed fast, reliable assistance. I called three places: a local independent repairman, Lowe's of Statesville, and The Home Depot of Statesville (The Home Depot is an authorized Rheem dealer for Rowan, Davie, and Iredell counties). The local repairman never returned my call. Lowe's called the next day to get more information. The Home Depot put me in touch immediately with Rutherford Heating and Air, their Rheem contractor.
    Rutherford Heating and Air made an appointment for the next day to perform an initial assessment. A technician came out the same week to do the final measurements for the installation. The installation team returned one week later to complete the installation. The installation was done in one day. I met personally with four employees from the company and spoke with two others only on the phone and each one was knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. They did the work quickly and pleasantly, even when they had to go into the crawlspace with spiderwebs! The technicians who did the final installation did a thorough testing of the system to make sure everything worked as expected, programmed the thermostat, then took the time to show the resident and me how to use the new digital thermostat.
    All appointments were kept and technicians arrived on time.
    Even though Rutherford Heating and Air is located in Spindale, NC, they provide service to all of NC as well as areas in bordering states.

    Purchased a HVAC service to tune up our system and perform preventive maintenance. About a week later we received a phone call from the provider and provided an address. They then informed me that I was too far away and they would not honor the coupon! About 2 weeks later, I observed a Custom Air truck in our neighborhood! Wow!

    Had a furnace leaking water and called Shores. Guy came out and quickly diagnosed the problem. He even did some changes to the pipes to optimize the flow. Just charged me the service fee of $85.
    I have used Shores before on AC repair and repair to a dishwasher. Been very satisfied with them. Would recommend.

    They did a good job, I like the man that did it, and they have very fair prices. They young man interacted with me, was very kind, and did a good job. He was very clean, my furnace is filthy and he was very respectful toward my house. The price was what I expected and he even had to replace some parts. He even told me what to look for if certain things went wrong with my furnace, he was very helpful.
