Septic Tank Cleaning reviews in Matthews

    1st Choice Service Inc
Great service. Used 1st Choice for pumping and inspection service. Nothing urgent. Team arrived when scheduled with a 60 minute warning. Were done in about 30 minutes, leaving everything operating and clean. Had no problem answering all of our questions and addressing any concerns we had. Cost included pumping, filter cleaning and inspection of the tank and drain field. Highly recommended.

T W Ammons Septic Service Inc
Ammons came quickly but sold us a bill of goods. Had to get this new TeraLift service. The answer to all our problems. We paid for it all to be done. Soon after the work was completed my septic alarm went off. We called and made the adjustments he suggested. However the yard was still getting soaked. Alarm went off again and wouldn't reset. The pump had burned out. He came out and changed the pump for $1000!!! Then when he was there we found 2 more leaks in the lines. These were the lines that the county asked to be checked and any repairs made. He said he would be back the next week to fix them. Now he "texts" and says that it will cost $550 + $150 after the FIRST HOUR minimum for him to come out and fix my leaks, What does that tell you???? Beware. He will come out and sell you a lot - but no service on the back end. Very disappointing.

I could not have had a better experience. After 2 so called "professionals" could not find my septic tank, it only took these guys a few minutes ! I did have additional issues which these fellows were kind enough to take a look at and give me their best opinion. They were quick, professional, prompt and informative... but most importantly affordable.

We purchased our home in Matthews, NC in August 2012. After a year or so of living here, we became aware that our septic system was failing.  We sought assistance from the Union County Environmental Health Department which issued a repair/installation permit for the job.  Our existing system, which is located to the immediate south of our home, was to be completely excavated, all lines and stone to be removed, and a new chambered septic field system was to be installed in its place.

After several meetings determining the best way to approach a system given the layout of our property, we hired Robert Laney Landscaping and Septic to remove the old system and install a brand new septic system. On February 25, 2014, the date of our work project to begin,  Robert Laney, Sr., of Robert  Laney Landscaping and Septic arrived at our house on time but chose to not remove the old system. Instead he chose to install the new system immediately southwest of the existing system on what was thought to be virgin ground. Laney was paid $6,000 on that date for a proper septic field installation.

Since that time, we have had continuous problems with our new septic field as chronicled below. We have reached out to Robert Laney no less than 35 times and he has visited our property on several occasions to attempt to correct these issues. These interactions include (but are not limited to):

March 24, 2014 One month after install, field began to leak from line 4 and Laney visited our home and shut off last line (4) of system to attempt to regulate water flow and stop leak.

May 2, 2014 Laney came to turn down pump pressure in attempt to stop distribution box from overflowing, also adjusted water flow to attempt to diagnose leaking line 4 issue.

July 15, 2014 Laney came to dig up 4th line after it was determined that line 3 was leaking into line 4 due to a previously installed gravel septic line that was not removed by Laney on original installation (known as crossover).  Laney also dug up a second leaking location closer to the tree line and uncovered a trash pile that also was not previously removed on original installation.  Laney left yards of effluent-contaminated soil and trash in our yard -- which sat for more than 2 months until its eventual removal by Laney.  Leak locations were filled with soil and compacted, as Laney prescribed that would be a proper fix.

Oct 8, 2014 Laney returned to remove yards of contaminated soil and trash from our yard, based on repeated and numerous attempts to compel him to do so.  At same time, Laney dug up another location between line 3 and 4 that continued to leak above ground near a large oak tree in yard. Also, additional soil was also added to area behind chicken coop lines 2 & 3 in an attempt to mitigate a squishy soil problem that would never dry out.

May 12, 2015 Laney came to inspect new above ground leak problems coming from line 2 and 3 in tree line behind chicken coop.

June 8, 2015 Laney came out with crew - dug up line 2 approx. 10 feet back of chicken coop and said he found the end of the line and didnt need to dig further. That same evening, I  dug 15 feet further back and found even more line despite Laneys declaration.

June 11, 2015 Laney came with a crew to repair line 2 & 3 leaks behind chicken coop.  Additional dirt was added in an attempt to stop leak.

Dec 4, 2015  Called Laney to request repairs to new leaks found below line 4 (near area previously repaired in July 2014) as well as a returned leak behind the chicken coop, from an area previously repaired in June 2015.

As of todays date, Laney has since refused to address these existing leaks and has even refused to simply inspect the problems despite numerous email, web and 2 certified mail attempts to gain his attention and action.

    McCoy Plumbing
Plumber and Helper arrived with only an hour into the specified time range they gave for arrival.  To me this is considered punctual. It was obvious from the beginning this crew was very experience, professional and knowledgeable. The work was performed very quickly and the faucet was installed properly and works as designed. During their time here we discussed other projects that I may have in the future including a tank less water heater and consideration for a water filter system to remove the lime in our well water. Based on their response I have confidence in this company to do the work. Eddie and Lee were courteous, with a great attitude and performed the work without any debris or trash left behind. Mary Jane followed-up after the work by phone and was very courteous and offered a new appointment to discuss my future projects. Will call again for future work. BP

Adolfo was great!  He showed up on time and did a great job getting the septic line cleared.  We had already dug it up and just needed it snaked.  Luckily I had bought the Angie's list coupon for $79 which gave me $250 worth of labor; that really cut the cost down.  Adolfo was so nice, worked hard to get the line cleared (there were roots) and I was very impressed with his professionalism.

We discovered that our leaching system for our septic tank had cracked and was leaking grey water. They were here the next day and replaced it. The best part was that this was the same provider who serviced our house before we owned it so they were able to give us a history of services performed...saving us money and time. They could have easily suggested additional services, that we likely would have agreed to, but instead they told us it wasn't necessary since they had just pumped and flushed the system 18 months ago. Appreciated their honesty. Will definitely use them in the future.

The service was excellent. The owner and a helper came out do the job, it didn't take no more than an hour. They are prompt, knowledgeable and very professional. I would tell friends they have fair prices and honest feedback about their situation. I have used them in the past.

I expected them to advise all kinds of replacements and they could
have and I would not have known the difference. I have gotten used to
people that are not always honest, and this company will restore your
faith. So far, I have met the two young men, both named Josh, and Erin.
All very professional. Happy, nice people. It makes such a difference!

Our septic overflow alarm rang in the middle of the night. We found Septic Plumbing Service listed on Angie's. Called and spoke with owner, Ronnie early that morning. He asked me to check the pump-system circuit breaker. I did and found it had tripped. He said he was finishing another job and would see us at 1:45pm. He called 30 minutes in advance and arrived exactly on-time. The breaker tripped due to a intermittent GFI breaker. It had rained for several days and then temps dropped below freezing. GFI breakers will act oddly at times. Ronnie lifted the lid to be certain floats and pumps were activating and found nothing wrong. He plans on pumping both tanks this summer but felt nothing was actually wrong aside from a tripped breaker. He is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We would recommend him and we shall use him for all our septic plumbing needs. Old fashioned service; hard to find these days!
