    Time Warner Cable
    Moving is always a stressful time, but leave it up to Time Warner Cable to make it more stressful.
    When I called to request a move, the representative cheerfully offered to review my services to ensure that I was getting the best deal. They are offering a $300 gift card to add Cable to your service. I let them know I was happy with Dish Network under contract and he explained: "that was what the gift card is for." So, it isn't a gift, it is to pay a fee that they know I would incur. Please note that I had Time Warner cable services previously, close to the Ballantyne area. It notoriously lost service intermittently and we had to replace our DVR boxes 3 times. We asked why the service would go out and the last excuse they gave us was that beavers were chewing the lines (we lived close to the Greenway). Seriously, beavers???
    Since we switched to Dish, we had less blackouts, including big storms. We also never had to change our DVR box once in 15 years.
    Since I wasn't looking to add to my services and I have been paying $79.99 a month for their 100 mbps service (before taxes), I asked the representative to review my pricing. I had noticed that they were offering new customers the same service for $29.99 monthly. He mentioned that I was given a lower price back in 2013 but didn't call back to renew the offer after it was over. Because I hadn't called back, they sent me a letter and I was charged the higher price. I understand that they notified me, however this experience is EXACTLY why I did not want to call. I then mentioned that this may be a good time to look at competitors such as Windstream and Google Fiber. He then explains to me the charges I would be paying for them. He missed the point. I am threatening to go to a competitor and he is lecturing me on the charges I would be paying for them. He then said "well I can reduce your services for a lower price." Exactly the opposite of what I was looking for. I thanked him for his help and hung up.
    10 minutes later I got an automated survey (NOT a person) in which I rated them accordingly. 
    You would think that with all the advertising they are doing about "changing", they would actually try when you call. Especially if  you mention you are thinking about changing to a competitor!!!

    Called Greenwave on Friday at noon to check on a price to install an outdoor TV antenna - Ulysses said he could be at my home at 5:00PM to check the work done.  He arrived on time and quickly recommended to put an antenna on the roof, come down with the coaxial cable behind a gutter to make it invisible and transition horizontally to my splitter box on that same wall.
    He recommended using an amplifier to maintain a good signal quality in each 4 rooms.  Price was $360 for all this.
    Work took about 2 hours and I now have all the channels in nearby Charlotte NC.
    He did a very good job and was very professional.

    I signed up in January.  I was assured satellite TV has improved specifically insofar as picture loss during inclimate weather.  I lost the picture 3 times due to rain, (not a storm, just rain).  When I called the 2nd time I was told to climb on my roof and spray the dish with PAM incase of snow or ice.  This company is still in the dark ages.  Their customer service is horrible.  I cancelled the service after 3 months.  They wanted me to pay termination fees of almost $400.  I discussed this with several different agents, trying to come to an amicable agreement.  I just found a $380 charge on my AMEX.  I did not authorize this and once again called Dish to discuss.  I was put on terminal hold twice.

    I thought Time Warner was bad.  Dish Network makes TWC look like the "Company of the Year"!!


    I strongly suggest you stay clear of Dish Network!

    I agreed to a trial period for a movie package for three months, and was told that I would not be billed. Well to my surprise I was billed. I contacted Direct TV and explained my issue and the notes that I had taken when I first agreed to this free trial movie package. The agent I spoke to was very understanding and apologetic and removed the fee I was charged for.

    The installation and ordering was OK, but trying to disconnect is a NIGHTMARE. When you call the toll-free number and say "cancel" or "close" the account, you get transferred around and around in circles, and then the line goes dead, usually without warning. The website does not allow accountholders to cancel. When you finally get through, they try to impose all kinds of cancellation fees. So if you're not sure about this service, think twice!

    REGGIE WAS SCHEDULED TO COME IN THE EARLY AFTERNOON BUT, DUE TO ANOTHER JOB, ARRIVED LATE AFTERNOON. HE KEPT NE INFORMED OF THE CHANGE. HE GOT RIGHT TO WORK AND WAS DONE IN ABOUT 30 MINUTES, HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND GAVE ME SOME DIFFERENT OPTIONS TO CONSIDER. I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH HIS WORK.
