    Queen City Kitchens
I stopped in Queen City Kitchens one afternoon and met Noel Smith. Noel showed me display boards of kitchens they had completed in the $14,000 - $16,000 price range. Noel told me that they can work with budgets large or small and would be glad to help me with all or part of my renovation. I completed their questionnaire and sketched a layout of my kitchen with measurements and submitted them through the link on their website. A few days went by and I emailed Noel to make sure that he received it since I received no response. I called a few times and Noel was always out of the office or gone for the day. That should have been a clue but I continued to pursue him until I received an estimate which was DOUBLE what I had listed as my budget on the questionnaire. I was shocked, but I asked for ways that we could reduce the cost. Noel said I could get cheaper cabinets and cheaper countertops than what he quoted. (Note that I did not pick out cabinets in the first place for him to quote) The cabinets in his quote were his choice, not mine. When I suggested that I would like a price on less expensive cabinets or cabinet refacing instead, he sent me this email: "Even with using one of our less expensive cabinets and incorporating other cost savings I dont believe we can meet a budget that would allow us to give you a result we would be happy with. I do appreciate the opportunity to look at your project and wish you success with another company." Noel R. I guess he didn't really mean ANY budget. Only a budget worth his while.

    Asa Stanford Inc
Cannot say enough what an awesome job they did. We built a three room addition for my mother. They listened to our plan, made suggestions along the way to improve, made a reasonable schedule and stuck to it (many times done earlier than projected). They built two rooms, one with a kitchenette along with a full bath with walk-in shower. They are honest, skilled professionals. They went over and above our expectations even installing railings and shelving at the end of the project

    Restore Tile & Stone
Pete was amazing! He responded to every email, text, and call. He showed up on-time, was very friendly and neat. He did exactly what he was hired to do and did so in a timely manner. He was very knowledgeable in his profession and my countertops look great! He even charged me less than he quoted on the phone....who does that! I would definitely hire him again.

Excellent! Never sat at the kitchen bar or table because I didn't like the old kitchen. NOW I can't get enough of it! Jeremy did o we and above what we asked for. He also made a very special insert cabinet so I can. Ow display all of my pottery collection. So happy to come home from work now and cook a meal! LOVE too that the 90s shell sinks are gone from the bathrooms. Again, he out did himself and built a gorgeous tower cabinet for our master bathroom. No doubt we would hire him again and again!

    Restore Tile & Stone
Pete was great! He came and gave us an estimate and then came back and did the work. He gave us lots of tips on how to keep it clean going forward--he clearly knows his craft well. He also gave us some very, very helpful advice on some other work we were getting ready to do. His generous offer of opinion and expertise was greatly appreciated.

Dmitriy was great to work with. He was friendly, prompt and professional as were the installers that he had working with him. He provided the services promised and also was a huge help in getting a plumber for me quickly when mine 'disappeared.' I chose to upgrade to a higher level of product, so the final cost was more, but end product is beautiful and well worth it!

    Metro Stone & Granite
Installed counters 7 years ago. I noticed last week the grout in the seam was dissapearing.I called Metro (unfortunately the rep no longer worked there from initial installatiion) I was told I would need to talk to service guy who informed me that it would cost $250 to regrout. Metro is 10 minutes away. I then called another company to come in for the repair. $100 less. They informed me that Metro did not use any shims on the initial instillation and granite was unlevel. Absolute Marble and Granite, Inc. did the repair. They were very professional and did a good job and I would use them again.

    PRO TOPS INC
The experience with Pro-Tops was very disappointing. We had never had granite installed before so were newbies and that was obvious. We also met with two other companies. prior to Pro-Tops. Our first appointment with the salesperson was very professional as well as when we went to their warehouse where they have the stone. They were having a warehouse sale at the time so we were able to get a level 4 granite ( a beautiful pattern) for less than the price of a level 1. Another plus was the fact they have the stone in stock and turn around is 7-10 days. We decided to use our own sink which had recently been purchased and was an undermount sink. We took the paperwork for the sink with us and it was ok'd. That wasn't a problem, yet. The fellow who came to measure the template was very nice and professional but he asked me if the area above our sink (you might call this a "riser", which then becomes a bar) asked if this was suppose to be continuation of granite or tile. I did not know the answer to this because the salesperson never discussed it and I didn't know there was an option. It turns out the salesperson had measured this area for tile but had not communicated this to me or the template fellow. When the installers came to put in the granite they also did not know if was tile or granite which surprises me since they had the granite with them at this time. Serious lack of communication. When they installers came initially it turns out the area for the sink was measured and cut incorrectly and our sink would not fit. They put in as much of the granite as they could and I asked them to then comp us one of their sinks but it turned out that would not fit either. In the long run, it turns out our sink would not work at all and they did comp us a sink but we had to wait another 2 days for the new section to be cut and installed. I told the salesperson I could be available the next 2 days ( I work!). We never heard from them and I had to call to find out when they were coming and he gave a date which was 3 days later. I did not agree and they did come on the 2nd day option. But, I was then without a kitchen sink for 3 days. They also never told us that the connections to the sink/disposal should not be hooked up until 24 hours later. Another day without a sink. We were also suppose to have a hole drilled in our desk area to allow for computer cords. This was not communicated/done and thankfully I caught the installers before the left. In addition, I had called the office two times to ask questions and was told the salesperson would get back to me - never happened. To their credit, when I did call the salesperson directly he did respond. Also, the installers, although we had a language barrier, were pleasant and hardworking. When they were leaving they told me that support brackets would need to be put in under the bar to support the weight. I assumed this would be done by them as the other two companies we interviewed had included it and a google search shows this is the norm. So, now I'm trying to find a handyman who can do this properly and professionally so we have now not been able to use our new bar for 5 days. In addition, the delay in the installation of the granite caused me to put a hold on our tile installation and my fellow wasn't available for another week. As we are preparing to put our house on the market by a certain date (now not going to happen) this has increased our stress level significantly. The most disappointing factor in all of this was that not one single time did anyone offer an apology for the inconvenience. We understand that mistakes are made but nada from them. When I called the sales rep today (I was expecting a follow up call that never came to make sure the final installation went well) and told him our experience was disappointing he said, "I don't know what went wrong". Seriously???? I also told him that it would have been nice if someone had acknowledged the mistakes and apologized. He still did not offer an apology. Oh, did I mention the softball size hole they left in my drywall ( I expected normal dings and tears while having the old counter tops pulled out but not that) which is now an added expense and time. Plus: cost and local fabrication, final product looks great and I have a laundry sink as a back up and lots of paper plates. Minus: poor, poor customer service, cost of tile installation was several $100 overpriced and they use a subcontractor so we are chose not to use them for tile.

    Sharon Builders, Inc
It went great. I met with 3 contractors and liked Steve Gunn the best. His estimate was right in line with what I expected and with other contractors. I needed someone to do everything including using their specialty contractors, (electrical, plumbing, tile, etc.) and sending me to great vendors (with show rooms for great ideas) for cabinets and sink, faucet and lighting, etc. I did it all with two places that had great selections and were great to work with. Everything was done and organized on a timely schedule by Sharon Builders. I love my finished kitchen and working with Sharon builders. Alan Gunn was on site everyday that a contractor was at my house. The contractors they use were all great and I had no problem leaving my house and knowing the work would be well done. Work was done and cleanup was great. When I came up with extra things I wanted they would get it done for me. I would definitely use Steve and Alan Gunn again and look forward to a bathroom remodel in the future.

    Classic Tile & Renovations Inc
Great. I was looking for genuine craftsmen and that is exactly what they are. They were respectful of my home, took great care in everything they did, were willing to provide guidance when I asked but also allowed me maximum flexibility in my choices, and their quality was outstanding. When a small problem cropped up a few months later, they came back and took care of it with no reservations. It was a big job with a lot of speciality items and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I would recommend them wholeheartedly.
