Cable Tv reviews in Kill Devil Hills

    Dish Network Retailer Satellite Country
I've been a cable TV and internet customer with Charter for approximately three years.  I'm satisfied with the services, but their price has gone up.  Dish Network sent a mailing out advertising their "America's Top 120 Plus" package of channels for $49.99 a month with a three year price guarantee.  The mailing also said to ask about their high speed internet plans.
I'm always looking to cut my budget, if possible, so I called Dish Network in response to the mailing.
After answering several questions regarding who I was, where I was calling from, my phone number and why I was calling I was transferred.  After a short time on hold, Toni, answered and I answered the same questions as before and also had to tell Toni who my current TV and internet provider is.  I clearly told Toni that I was only interested in the advertised $49.99 package with internet and wanted their prices for internet.
Toni kept asking questions like what kind of TV is watched at my residence, how may people live here, how many TVs will be connected.  I again explained that I didn't need any information on the TV packages, I was only interested in the advertised $49.99 package.  I was put on hold for several minutes while Toni got some answers on the internet.  When Toni resumed my call she said she could give me the prices once she asked a couple of more questions.  She then asked my date of birth, then my social security number.  I refused to give her my social security number, she said she had to qualify me before she could give me a price. I terminated the call.
I believe some of these questions are out of line for a price quote.  If I had answered the last two questions Toni asked, she would have had my name, address, date of birth, social security number, phone number and my TV and Internet provider.
That information is all that is needed to either assume or sell my ID.
I called back to Dish Network and asked for a supervisor.  I spoke with someone named Derick who said he was a customer service supervisor.  I explained what had happened and why I was not happy.  Derick said that Toni probably worked in sales and the prices would vary depending on my credit.  He assured me that my information was safe.
That was never explained to me, but seems unreasonable.  I worked in sales at a motorcycle dealership.  We did not run a credit check on a customer without the customer signing a waver and completing the credit application first.  I don't believe it's proper for Dish Network to check someone's credit without advising them first.
