  • They are good but, their billing use to be bad. It has improved over the years. They are very good at what they do and they specialize in cancer. They are fantastic with maternity and they have the premier child health care. I will continue to use them.

  • BCBS is the insurance company that contracts with the State of NC for insurance coverage. Unfortunately, the various websites for the State Health Plan and Orbits (for retirees) do not communicate well with each other. It took nearly three hours to weave through the maze in order to have web access for the renewal period in October. For systems coordination, BCBS and the State Health plan get low marks. However, as an insurance company for health care, I have been pleased with the service and communication provided by BCBS. I have found that healthcare providers never have reservations about accepting BCBS cards.

  • The people at check-in were very courteous, and Dr. McPherson was very helpful in terms of explaining treatment for back pain. He did not rush, and was patient and helpful with my questions. There were very few people in the waiting room at the time I was there, so that may be why he was able to take the time to explain things to me. Regardless, I was very pleased with WSHC's staff: at check-in, the nurse who got the initial information, and the doctor who saw me and evaluated my condition.

  • We have a choice of Aetna or another provider.  We continue to choose Aetna each year.  Their Doc Find option (both on their website or by phone) has helped us to choose providers in our insurance network in order to keep our costs down.  We can use other providers if we desire, but the cost is a bit higher.
    My only complaint is that there is difficulty communicating with my Aetna Flexible Spending Account.  There's a pattern of paperwork that's extremely illogical, requiring me to submit Explanation of Benefits forms back to Aetna, even though they've been sent to me by Aetna.  It's frustrating having to put in so much time to a process that could be streamlined easily.  But it's definitely not a deal breaker for the good care we receive.

  • We cannot comment on the percentage or amount that Aetna pays on each claim as that is something negotiated between the employer and Aetna.  However, we have found that claims processing is very timely and accurate.  
    We had a situation recently where Medicare did not pay on a claim for my husband saying that the treatment was not Medicare eligible, but Aetna covered the expense.  
    Their website has recently been consolidated so that you can request prescriptions on the same website that you go to to find providers and to review Explanation of Benefits (which we have chosen to only receive electronically -- i.e. paperless).  It also provides a wealth of information related to health management.  They also have mobile apps.
    The only thing that I would say is average is when you have to call on the phone (thus the B rating for responsiveness -- claim processing is an A, telephone response time is probably a C).  Sometimes the wait time for a Customer Service person can be several minutes.  Usually, though, when you get someone, they are able to answer your question.

  • I'm 62 years old and have lived in California, Arizona, Oregon, and now North Carolina (18 years in NC); and, like everyone else, I've been to my share of Pharmacies. I've been using Kernersville Pharmacy for about 3 years, and can say that Stan, Karen, and their staff provide the best professional and personal support I've ever experienced. They are knowledgeable, friendly, concerned, and go out of their way to make sure you get the best price possible.

  • The experience was wonderful. It's a fairly new hospital, it's been open for just under a year. There wasn't anything I didn't like, they responded fast, the service was fast like you would want it to be in that situation. Everyone was nice, courteous, thorough and I was well taken care of. I was just impressed, for it to be a new place, I was happy. It felt like I was in and out in no time. From the time I was in the door and talking to the first person I was back being treated within 15 minutes. They were very, very good.

  • I've been extremely happy with this pharmacy and the pharmacists. They know me by name and greet me every time. It makes it so much more personal. I'll never forget when I had a recent surgery and had a complication. I couldn't walk, so I drove to the pharmacy drive-thru so I could drop off my new prescription. They let me wait there in the car until it was filled - which only took a few minutes. I was so thankful for that!

  • Was taken to exam room about 10 minutes after scheduled appointment. Was prepped by nurse and waited another 10-15 minutes for doctor. Exam and followup proceeded routinely.
