AA & W RoofingWe had a leak in our roof, just a couple days from a stormfront. We called A&W and spoke to Monica, who dispatched Tim Ames to help us. Tim got here promptly and fixed the problem (some loose nails and dried up caulking) quickly and professionally. NOW, here's the thing: - Monica persisted to ensure we got the help we needed, despite the fact that my phone was on the fritz and I kept missing her calls. She was polite, patient, and genuinely wanted to help me. Terrific customer service. - Tim got here on time(!)--I can't tell you how often that little promise gets missed by people these days--and he fixed our issue for free--yep, free. Of course I wouldn't expect that, and I hope no one reading this would ever expect that, but Tim saw the problem when he got on the roof and just made a snap decision, in 100 degree heat, to just help us out. He was modest about having done it, and made it clear that he was just extending a kindness to us, fixing a problem he knew he could easily fix. It was a kindness that was refreshing to see, and we were very grateful. I am bookmarking A&W Roofing as a favorite. The next time we need serious work done, there is no question; we're calling A&W. They have received excellent reviews, and they just gave us a big sample of why that is.- steve c.

AArtisan Building & Design LLCCan’t say enough good things about the work performed. We had 2 kitchen walls removed to open to the living room and had an “L” shaped bar installed with granite countertops. They also installed hardwood floors throughout our house. Milton Ray and Gerald are perfectionists. I truly felt like they would do anything to make sure we were satisfied. They listened to all of our ideas and were transparently honest with their feedback. AAlspaugh Building Co IncFrom start to finish, meeting Jake with Alspaugh roofing company was an excellent choice. I needed to replace an entire roof on a house for a relative in Yadkin County. When I talked to Jake the 1st question I asked him was, " Do you handnail or use a nail gun on the shingles?" His answer was "We handnail". I knew immediately that this is the only answer that is acceptable. I met him at the house a short time later and he was prompt and courteous. He immediately went on the roof to make his Observations about what was necessary. He was straightforward. Highly competent and impeccable.. He told me he would write me up an estimate and give me a call and that is exactly what he did later the same day. His prices were reasonable. His job exceptional. I knew from talking to him about roofs that he was going to do a good job because I had had an experience with excellent roofers in Asheville and his answers were the same. Due to inclement weather the job was put off a couple of days later but when they started they worked Solidly and professionally. Anytime I need anything done with any roof I will call this person and his company. They did an excellent job and there was no issue whatsoever with any work that they did or the honesty that Jake possessed I recommend him highly!!!!!!! Even though giving him a wonderful recommendation will only make him so busy that when I need him again for anything else he might be too busy !! Lol. ACrosswinds ConstructionFrom Planning and permits to putting the finishing touches on our bedroom, family and bathroom addition, we were totally satisfied. With pandemic and epic weather, we were completed as promised, a week early. Jeff the owner is always available, fair and responsive. He had things taken care of that never crossed my mind, covered and knew just what the local codes called for. The property was kept clean and all workers were respectful of us and our property. When I noticed I called Tracy and that problem was fixed within 2 hours. Our kitchen was old and dim, and our deck was about to fall down. Athe guy we had been using kept putting us off and putting us off and it kept getting worst. so i went on Angie's list and found Jordan's Construction. i called him and he came out in a couple of days and gave us a good price so he set a date and time. He text me the day before to remind me he was coming the next morning. He text me again that morning to let me know that he would 30 min. late he showed up in about 25 min. with his crew and they fixed 18 windows in under 3hrs. they cleaned up everything and did an excellent job. ANathan and his team were fantastic to work with. Their pricing was fair and they worked efficiently throughout the project, working until 7 pm and even later when necessary to get to good stopping points. Nathan is great to work with - he listens to your needs and concerns and addresses them, as well as coming back to address any outstanding items on the punchlist. He and his team were respectful and polite, and they met our goals. Nathan is also a good communicator and kept us updated with their daily progress. We would hire them again if/when needed.

AThe roof is the original to the house and only ~15 years old (Nick had not done the original installation). About five years ago Nick and his crew addressed an issue with the original installation methodology and their fix has been solid to date. I had a few leaks in different areas and again he and his crew did a great job addressing the issues. He gave a fair price, showed up on time and performed the work in a professional manner. I plan on replacing the roof in about five years and I will call no one else.

AI used Custom Renovations, as well as Custom Electric for a major updating of my 1930s house in the Lindley Park area of Greensboro. The electrical work began 12/04/18, with the demolition starting 7/09/19. The job completion (with final walk-through) was 1/28/20. There were multiple aspects to the total job: attic insulation, floor refinishing, redoing of an old back porch (which involved raising my back roof line to raise my master bathroom's ceiling), adding a back deck, and painting the house's interior walls. Both bathrooms were updated, as well as my kitchen. In the process, all my old iron piping was upgraded as well. Custom Electric not only replaced all my old "knob & tube" wiring, but also placed additional wall outlets & smoke detectors to bring the house into current code compliance. The Custom employees (foreman, electrical, plumbing & carpentry), as well as the various contractors (painters, dry wall installers, tilers, insulators, & floor refinishers) employed by Custom were all very professional and did a great job. Chris S******, Custom's owner, was very accessible to answer any of my concerns & provided expert options to the many decisions (structural & electrical) that arose during the process. Christin G*********, my Custom design consultant, was invaluable in walking me through the many design decisions that confronted me: kitchen cabinet, sink, fixtures, tile & countertop selections, bathroom configurations, shower design, fixtures & sink selections, floor stains, etc. She assisted me in navigating the various suppliers of these items, and was patient and informative. During the whole project, I ended up asking Custom for 12 change orders, Some changes were necessitated by issues arising during the construction. Some changes were additions I just requested as the project moved along. From the beginning through to the end, both Chris & Christin were transparent about the project's costs. In summary, Custom did a very professional job and I would recommend them. I'm very pleased with my house's upgrades.
