Don Guldin General Contracting Residential (GCR)
Excellent! Don was very easy to work with, completely honest and straight up front at all times. I couldn't be more pleased with the final walk through. My home is even better than it was. Work was done with even the smallest details taken care of with excellence. Top quality work and attention to details.

Creativity appears to me to be Don Guldins greatest talent; and Im not referring to construction! More than 40 times he made purchases from Lowes and requested cash-back in the amount of $40; and he baptized, as materials, all of those purchases including the cash, and charged them to me. When it comes to tools, he likes lots of them...he purchased jig and skill saws, a drill and bits, a router, levels, grinder, trowel, staple and caulk guns, a ladder, flashlight, etc. When one shops, for tools, one must have snacks and drinks and one must look good while shopping so he stopped in at Simpson Brothers and purchased himself a pair of boots and a belt for $150. Yes, you got it...he charged it all to me as materials! This is a condensed version of my experience with Don Guldin. If you are interested in more of the story, contact me and I will be pleased to show you the quality of the work he accepted from his subcontractors and his own staff. You can also review documents he filed against me when I refused to pay him the final $25,000 he said I owed him that the court ruled (he selected a trial by jury) I did not have to pay. Would I recommend Don Guldin as a General Contractor? Not in this lifetime! I consider this activity to be theft prosecutable through the Criminal Court System, but our District Attorney does not. What do you think? Mac Edwards Remodeling General Contractor
Mac and Kathy were very responsive to all communication. They worked with the tenant to coordinate the repairs. I had work done by another contractor which was done poorly. First job was fixing leaks in the bathroom and replacing the floor covering. The previous contractor had installed tile flooring without an underlay and it was uneven and loose. The commode leaked at the base as well as the drain on the tub. Once the work was underway Mac notified me that the sub-floor needed repairs. This encompassed removing the tub and surround and replacing the sub-floor. He then installed the underlay and tile floor covering. This was all accomplished. Total Price $3800.00 Next project was a sliding glass door that needed finish trim and modification to keep the water out from the porch level vs door level. Complete $750 Last project was window and facade work on the front of the house. The specific area was a previously closed in garage. The previous contractor installed sub grade windows and never finished the trim work. Mac sent me some options. We chose to go with completely new windows, finish work inside and out and some vinyl siding to finish off the outside of the windows. Complete at $4000 Its hard to find quality work in Jacksonville, NC. I have used 2 or 3 contractors in the past and either the quality was horrid or they were slow to respond to questions, quotes or progress reports. if they even replied at all. Mac and Kathy were always in contact with me and worked around our time differences (I'm in Afghanistan). They were punctual and started and completed the work in a timely manner. I will keep them on speed dial for any future work!!!

Charles did an excellent job with the work. He is knowledgeable and provided guidance throughout the job. The house looks wonderful and a real estate appraisal soon after the work was completed showed a dramatic increase in the home's value.

Could not have went better! Moved my laundry room upstairs and built a new linen closet across from it. What an amazing job! Looks as if it's always been there. Even connected the crown molding seamlessly. Did all electrical, plumbing and construction himself. I did not have to have several workers running around. His quality by far is the best around! He also renovated my upstairs bath $2500 and removed all popcorn ceilings and put up crown molding. Can't wait for the next project!

The crew did a very sloppy job on the drywall and spackle. He did not clean up any of the spackle on the new floors, even though he said he would. Numerous times he would not show up and would ignore calls. He would show up mid-day and stay until 8pm or later. The last thing he was supposed to do was running the plumbing behind the cabinets, but he drilled holes in the cabinets and left extra feet of plumbing in the cabinets. He said that is just how he does remodel work. He has not returned calls to correct these problems.

    Hosco Kitchen & Bath

After reading the reviews here we decided to go with Mr. Early to build us a new kitchen.  I believe we met with him at his showroom three times and he came to our house twice during the decision process.  He was very thorough in his evaluation of what we wanted and extremely patient with all the questions we asked during the design phase.  After we settled on the design and materials, we received and approved the estimate and settled on a schedule. His crew of subcontractors always arrived on schedule,  were very courteous and entertaining, and always left the work area clean at the end of the day.  In the end we had a new kitchen with solid wood cabinets, quartz countertops, glass mosaic backsplash, and new vinyl floor, all new plumbing fixtures and electrical outlets with LED under cabinet lighting.  We are extremely pleased.   The work is top notch and our new kitchen revels anything you see on TV.  Due the materials we choose it was a bit pricy but we now have a kitchen with more storage space and a much more efficient layout.   Would recommend HOSCO Kitchen and Bath?  Absolutely!

The sales man was just horrible. They came out and the thing is, I love the product. But the time he got finished, in terms with the price was, he told us, “Oh no, that’s just for the shower and tabs around.” We would have to do all the rest. We’re on seventies. I couldn’t do dry wall and I don’t know even how to put in a commode. He wasn’t interested in what I wanted. He was very high pressure. We’ve been through high pressure before. It really turns you off. The product he showed us was probably worth the price. I love the product that they were going to put in there. He couldn’t give me a name or company right down in there who would do the dry wall, plumbing and electric. They didn’t have somebody that actually did that work.

I was interested in purchasing a property and needed some advice and an estimate. I ended up not purchasing the property because he told me about asbestos and other issues with the house. It needed more work than I thought it did and they steered me away from it.

Everything went very well, estimator was courteous and very professional, he came in, made the measurements and provided me with a quote and explained the process of removal and installation.  Everything went as planned, on the first day the installer, Scott, removed the bath tub and walls, replaced pipes and installed the tub and walls.  On day two, Scott came and completed the install, and removed all trash and left the bathroom clean.
