  • I show up now the next day on request of the Service Manager (he is not at work this day due to bad weather). The Service department representative contacts the Ford warranty department (wherever that is) who replied to photographs of the outside of the damaged glass and reclined to cover it under warranty. They cited a clause in the warranty contract that essentially states that glass by it's self is not covered. The Sanders Ford service representative that I was dealing with was willing to set me up for an appointment to look further into the damaged glass. I explained that the Service Manager asked us to bring the car in today to have the body shop take the door panel off in order to figure out the cause of the broken glass. After looking under the skin, it seems the glass was cracked from the plastic and silicone glued front mounting bracket up to the underside of the window scraper along the window scrapper (unnoticeable as it was covered by the window scraper) to the trailing edge of the glass and then the crack turned upward just before the edge of the glass so that you could see it just over the window scraper in the rear corner of the door frame. The mechanic was good enough to show me what he found as they took photos of it to reply back to the Ford warranty department with more details of the issue. Neither they or I saw any obvious chips or cause for the crack in the glass but it was there, and maybe since the car was manufactured, but who knows. A recent cold snap could have aggravated an existing crack that finally made it's way to the point that it could be noticed. I will post an update on the installation of the glass and for each service visit that we have here after this posting. Like I said this is the only local place that we can take our car for our prepaid service contract, so we are stuck and that is why I checked that we would not come back for service to otherwise deal with the aggravation but we must. The Ford warranty department approved the repair and I am waiting on a call back when the part comes in. I will post the results of that service in a separate posting.

  • If you have done everything you need to clean up your credit and have high DTI go to navy fed because they will allow you to pursue your
goals.  I was denied by 5 different banks for financing from the dealership when my wife and I tried to purchase a vehicle because our
DTI was too high.  I have been banking with navy fed for 5 years now and they gave me a loan at a lower interest rate than quoted from the dealership. They refinanced a vehicle from another lender for a lower rate issued me a motorcycle loan lowered my interest on my credit card and increased the credit limit on my card all in the span of 2 days.  I will never go any where else for a auto loan.

  • It started on a Monday the 12th, when we went to get a truck. They didnt have the color I wanted and the salesman said they had one at their other lot. We Drove 35 mins away to look at the other truck, only to find out that they had sent it to another dealer so we had to drive the 35 mins back without seeing a truck. We felt if you had to drive that far away, that he should have called to make sure it was still there. The next day, the 13th I went in and he had found a truck that I wanted. He said it was in South Carolina and that we could have it on Thursday the 15th. Later that day, he called back and said that it had some paint damage and was going to be repaired before being sent up here and so it wouldnt be here until Tuesday the 20th. I told him that I had to turn my rental car in by thursday the 15th and he said to come in on the next day, Wed the 14th and he would get me a loner car to use until my truck came in. The next day on the 14th I took the rental car back and got a ride to the dealership. Once I walked in, he said the plan had changed and that i would keep the rental and they would pick up the cost after the insurance stopped paying for it. I told him I had already turned in the car because he told me i would get a loner. He said he had just found out that morning that they would pay for the rental. I felt he should have gave me a courtesy call to let me know to make sure I wasnt going to turn the rental car back in.At this time, I signed the contract and gave my down payment and did all the paperwork for my new truck. He gave me a loner car for 3 hours and told me to come back at 4 pm and that the rental car place would pick me up and take me to get a rental. at about 4:20 the rental car place finally showed up and took me to the store to sign for my rental car. Upon Checking in, they told me there wasnt a reservation for me. So they had to call Sanders Ford to have them put in the reservation. They had known since 11 that i was going to get a rental but they didnt bother to make the reservation with the rental car company. So, after another half hour of waiting. I finally got a car. The next morning Thursday the 15th I had to get a visitors pass for Camp Lejeune and once I got it, I realized that the reservation was good through the 19th. I wasnt picking my truck up from Sanders until the 20th. At this point, i was very frustrated with the Salesman and so i went in after work and talked to the sales manager. I voiced my frustration with the whole process and explained from start to finish the process. I told him about the rental car and how it was good through the 19th but i wasnt picking up the truck until the 20th. He said all i would have to do is go to the rental place and they would just stamp it for a few more days. My point was that now I had to take more time to go to the rental place, and them some more time to get a new visitor pass just because the salesman didnt think to make the rental reservation good through the time i was picking up my new truck. The sales manager said he understood my frustration and would give me a free oil change. He also said he would do what he could to have the truck by saturday. He felt it was a good possibility that it would be here by Saturday the 17th and that I could pick it up no later than Monday the 19th. Monday came and by around 5 pm I hadnt heard anything from them. So I called them and was told that there was a problem getting the truck and that they actually found another truck from a different dealer in Maryland. I was upset that I didnt get a phone call all day, and that i had to contact them to get an update on them getting my truck. They said that i would have to come in on Tuesday the 20th to redo the paperwork and that the truck would be there on Thursday the 22nd. Tuesday the 20th, I received a call around 3 pm and they said that the manager in Maryland who agreed to give them the truck wasnt there that day to give approval so sanders wasnt going to send drivers to get it without knowing for sure they were going to get it. After being very upset and letting the salesman know I thought it was BS that I was having to deal with this, he told me I could wait until Wednesday to see if they could talk to the manager in Maryland and see if they could get the truck, or I could come in and get my downpayment back and walk away. I told him i would think about it, and that i would come in that afternoon to let him know what I decided. After thinking about it, I decided to give them a final chance to get win my business. If they could get it to me by Friday, i would deal with it. I felt it was going to be better and faster than trying to find a new dealer who could find the truck I wanted and wait for it to get there. Once I got to the dealship I walked in and the salesman immedialtly said that he was sorry that we couldnt get the deal done, and he had a check waiting for me. Didnt even make an attempt to try to get me to stay with his dealership. I was pretty upset and just walked out of the dealership. When I had signed the contract, the salesman made a big deal about the Ford Customer satisfaction survey and how it was tied to incentives and was like a salesman's and dealerships report card. He had stated that if there was anything that would make me not give a perfect score that i should tell him and he would do what he could to get me to give him perfect scores. I had mentioned this to the Sales Manager and he agreed that the survey was very important. I feel that they had gotten to a point where they knew my survey wasnt going to be anywhere near perfect that the felt they would rather lose the customer than have a negitive survey sent in on them. The next day, I went to another dealership in Havelock and after two hours, walked out with a new truck. I wish I had went to them to begin with. My girlfriend is going to be replacing her vehicle this year and we had planned on going to Sanders ford to get it. Now, after the two week struggle with them, I wouldnt trust them to put air in my tires. I would never recommend them to anyone, and I would recommend they go anywhere else OTHER than Sanders Ford.

  • I came to Lejeune Honda to look into a trade in on a used van. Coincidentally the exact van we were looking for had been a trade in that same day but had not yet undergone any of the standard maintenance and clean up procedures. We came back the next day to see it in day light once it had been cleaned up a bit. After being promised that it would still be thoroughly cleaned and scratches attended to by an auto body professional we agreed to purchase. They offered us an amazing trade in value and fair price on the van. It took some finagling but we were able to get an acceptable APR (we borrowed in house) which should not have been a difficult task considering our excellent credit rating. After the paperwork was signed I was under the assumption we'd be taking our sedan home and returning once the maintenance and appearance work had been completed but they handed us the van keys and said congratulations. I immediately asked what the plan was regarding the unfinished work on the vehicle and was assured we would be very well taken care very quickly. I was told my salesman would contact me in the morning to schedule all the work that needed to be done. I wasn't happy with this because I had three car seats I knew I'd be taking in and out, in and out, but went a long because we really needed that extra space ASAP. The maintenance inspection was scheduled next day and went smoothly although it did take an hour longer than promised; no big deal. The body work and interior detail was scheduled a few days later. My salesman brought a loaner vehicle to my home the evening before to accommodate my need for transportation the day of. The van needed to stay an extra day due to low temperatures and paint issues so I kept the loaner another day. When I returned to pick up the van I immediately noticed it had not been cleaned in any way and there was still a large scratch that had not been repaired as promised. At this point I had already removed the three car seats and children that go with them from the loaner to go back into the van. I asked for a manager and explained that the van should have gotten a detail and pointed out the scratch. The manager apologized and assured me they'd get it right next time. I had to take the van because it would be days before they could get it back in. That day finally arrived and my salesman again brought me the loaner. The next day he returned with my van which AGAIN had not been detailed. A few of the specific things I'd pointed out had been cleaned but only these specific things. No professional detail. I had him wait while I phoned the manager and arranged to bring it back in for a third time. I dropped it off that evening and returned the next to a much cleaner van but still in no way professionally cleaned. I was very open about my dissatisfaction but said that after three tries this was the best it'd looked and I would accept it. This was the worst auto purchase experience I've ever had.
