  • We had numerous leaks in our old roof, mostly due to improperly installed flashing. We chose to replace the entire roof rather than repairing the individual areas. Joe came promptly to give a price, and came to do the work on the agreed-upon day. He and the crew worked continuously and finished promptly. Cleanup afterward was thorough. His price was essentially identical to the other quote we received.
He spent a lot of time fitting several layers of flashing around our rock chimney, which had been a major source of leaks before.
We did have one small leak during extremely heavy rain, and Joe came the next day and determined that the cause of the leak was a failure in a skywindow gasket at the edge of the glass, rather than a leak in the new roof. He resealed the gaskets on this and the other sky windows. We are very happy with the results and would strongly recommend his work.

  • Joe came out at the stated time to inspect the area needing repair at the agreed upon time and indicated that all that was required would be to reseal the flashing around the chimney as there were large gaps between the flashing and the chimney stone.  I accepted his assessment and estimate and he did the required sealing on the spot with a one year warranty.
Here is the back story:  I had the chimney reflashed in September 2013 due to leaks.  The original repair cost $1800 since the summer rains had let up, I never noticed that it was still leaking.  When the summer rains hit in 2014, the leaks were worse than ever so I reached out to the initial contractor and he failed to show on multiple occasions at time set up by him.  Given his previous work did not hold up and he failed to show up for his appointments, I decided to find another contractor to prevent further damage to the roof and house.
After receiving several estimates of $900 (no warranty), $1400 (no warranty), $7200 (one year warranty) and then Joe's estimate that all that was required was resealing the flashing for $175 with a one year warranty.  I was concerned with Joe's assessment o only requiring resealing and that the flashing was in fact, high quality.  I questioned him on whether additional work should be done like replacing the flashing or water membrane.  He was very knowledgeable and indicated the flashing was high quality and in his opinion, the previous contractor that installed the flashing did not remove the stone dust from the channels they carved into the chimney before they attempted to seal these areas which caused the caulking not to bond with the masonry which resulted in the leaks.
Joe took the time to ensure I fully understood what the issue was and what probably caused it.  No other contractor that came to provide and estimate did that, they took pictures and showed me the gaps between the stone and the flashing but nothing else.
Given Joe's knowledge and assurance, I employed him to perform the work which he did on the spot.  I know it is not normal to have the work done immediately but given the immediacy of the need and the low complexity of the repairs, Joe performed the necessary repairs on the spot.
We have had two downpours since the repairs and there are currently no leaks.  I am confident in Joe's repairs and if there is a problem I am confident Joe will make good on his one year warranty.  Time will tell if the repairs last but if I have any additional roofing needs, I will call Joe.  I highly recommend him for his honesty, work ethic and knowledge.

  • On 01/18/14 we saw a dump truck of beautiful firewood in a convenience store parking lot. I called the listed  phone number to inquire about the wood. Chris said that the truck load was 1 2/3 to 2 full cords of wood and it cost $250 delivered. A full cord of wood is a stack 4 feet by 4 feet by 8 feet for a total of 128 cubic feet.

We did not need wood at that time so I said that I would call when we did. Later that day Chris called to ask if I would take that load that day at a slight discount. I agreed. He came late that afternoon and dumped the load in our drive.

Upon stacking the wood on 01/20/14 I realized that the load of wood was way short of what Chris had promised. It measured 120 cubic feet, not even a full cord. As he had promised at least 1 2/3 cord I called Chris. He said he would come to look at the situation on 01/21/14 and would make the shortage good. He did not show and did not even call that week. I called again on 01/24/14. Chris said that his truck was broken and that when the truck was fixed he would come and make good on the shortage. Chris did not come and did not call that week. I called and left messages on 02/04/14 and 02/05/14. Chris did not respond in any way. .

  • Was not on time, BUT he was nice enough to call and let me know he was running late.  Seemed like a very trustworthy outfit. Definitely appeared to know what he was talking and projected confidence.  Was pricier than others; however, they are licensed and I'm not really one to go with the cheapest, prefer experience.  Unfortunately, found a lot of problems with the chimney that we can't afford to fix.  He was responsive with a price quote on needed work.

  • This installation was done over the winter last year.  The crew arrived on time and installed the stove and liner per our agreement.  They were professional and very courteous.  The installation went well and they cleaned up before departing.  The stove worked great but there was a smoke leak and I had to call them back.  They responded immediately and fixed the leak with Silicone.  Everything was fine over the winter, however the smoke leak returned after they performed the annual cleaning.  Tom, the owner, came out and found that the problem was inside the stove where the exhaust pipe had not been adequately sealed (this was a mfg defect).  He ordered the parts and corrected the problem at no cost to me.  He noted that the piping from the stove to the chimney was also leaking and they replaced it, also at no cost to me.  I am very pleased with the stove and the installation job.  Even though we had some hitches in the process, Tom made sure I was taken care of.  I would highly recommend Wright's if you are in need of stove or chimney service.

  • Len was prompt. His crew of 3 men unloaded the wood, which was neatly stacked in his truck. The wood was good quality and Len even provided two different sizes upon request.
He did not charge a delivery fee since it was early in the year, outside of the busy season. We bought the wood
in the Spring to be sure it would be seasoned well by winter. Would definitely purchase wood from Len again.

  • I was glad that the service was quick but I was very disappointed with the quality of the product, which I expressed when he delivered the wood. It was all hardwood, but for the price should have been all oak in my opinion. He tried to make amends by delivering extra wood. Further inspection during stacking (I had to do), I found the wood was poor quality cut and split in sizes ranging from 4 inches long to 36 inches long and most was split as if it was going to be used in the huge fireplaces of Biltmore or the Grove Park Inn. I had to split half the load. To top it off, almost all of the wood has white rot. Not only does white rot decrease the BTUs and increase the moisture content of the firewood but you cannot have any left over and burn it the next year.

  • The actual work went well. At the last minute, Semper Fi had to change the date and time. No problem. Semper Fi's crew did a good job. I write this report approximately eight months later because of my irritation with this contractor. I called them three times about another matter: a strange noise that I am hearing from the kitchen sink. I wanted to get some advice or set up a service call. After one of my messages, the owner's wife returned my call and said her husband will call me. He never did return the call. It feels like the only time I would get a return call only when I had more business for Semper Fi.
