    Rapid Fitness
The gym wasn't the cleanest and most of the treadmills has TVs that didn't worki.  The personal trainer I had was pretty good.
The trouble started when I sustained injuries to my wrists and elbows from the weights.  Because of these injuries, I had to cancel my membership.  The injuries coincided with a move out of the area.
After I sent a cancelation notice, they billed my credit card.  I had it credited.  Well as fast as I credited the charge, they re-charged me.  This happened 3 times until I canceled that credit card.  When I called, the person I spoke with was both confrontational and rude.  She stated that they never received the cancelation notice.  Additionally, I asked for a refund of the unused training sessions.  She said that if I sent a doctor's note stating that I could no longer work out, she would credit the charges.
I re-sent both the doctor's note and the cancelation notice, this time by registered mail.  They signed for the letter and I never heard back.  A year later, a collection agency called and said I owed over $2,000!  I again contacted the company.  I spoke to the manager, I emailed the owner.  They all promised to take care of it.  I didn't hear from them so I filed reports with both the BBB and Consumer Affairs.
Now it is another year later I just saw that I have not one, but TWO open collections on my credit report, both from Rapid Fitness.
I would advise people to stay away from this place.  They ruined my credit on a whim and did absolutely nothing to fix it.
Beware!  Look at the complaints at the BBB  http://www.bbb.org/raleigh-durham/business-reviews/health-clubs/rapid-fitness-in-raleigh-nc-90164875/complaints

    ALLEN'S TAEKWONDO CTR
If you don't want to read the long review below - here is the short version:  If you have any interest in paying for martial arts training, especially if the training is for your children - choose someplace other than Allen's Taekwondo. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT with Allen's Taekwondo!!! - you will live to regret it.  I have seen so many families, including my own, leave this organization in disgust, with a vow never to return.
The owners of the facility, Michael Wegmann and his wife Julia, also control several local martial arts training centers that are affiliated with the American Taekwondo Association (ATA).  While the ATA is as reputable national organization, its high standards were not upheld by Mr. Wegmann at Allen's Taekwondo.  Wegmann's focus is not on teaching martial arts and life skills per the ATA standards, but rather on attracting new students to sign 36-month contracts and on selling merchandise to his existing students.  The students are required to purchase official ATA sparring gear in order to participate in sparring, and they are required to purchase a variety of training weapons.  While this is commonplace equipment in many martial arts facilities, the prices we were charged for our equipment were exorbitant compared to the prices of similar gear offered online and in catalogs.  The fees they charged for testing to higher belts were also effectively much higher than other facilities - and the path from white belt to black belt included numerous incremental belt levels, as opposed to the standard White-Yellow-Green-Blue-Red-Black belts that many organizations use.  This organization includes Orange belts, Camouflage Belts, Purple Belts and Brown belts. In addition to the added colors, there are  striped belts to indicate progress halfway between belt levels, and students are required to pay testing fees for the solid color belts as well as the striped belts.
My wife and I both earned black belts with the Wegmann's and also participated in Level 1 instructor training - for which Wegmann collects a couple of thousand dollars - and justifies by telling students that they can earn money as instructors.  The instruction, when given by Mrs. Wegmann, is not bad, but they often rely upon student volunteers or student-employees to teach the classes, and these are usually sub-par.  The training overall is poor to fair, and the skill levels of their black belt students are weak compared with other local organizations.  My wife and i both earned State Champ designations for sparring and forms with the ATA, but when we visited White Tiger Taekwondo in Cary about a year ago, we discovered that even their color belt students possessed more knowledge and skill than we did.  After a full year of training at White Tiger, we feel like real black belts now.  The training at Allen's Taekwondo is very weak compared to level of training at White Tiger.
The kicker (pun intended) for us was our knowledge of the inappropriate behavior of one of Wegmann's instructors, who happened to be his best friend, at his facility in Fuquay-Varina.  We informed Wegmann that we had witnessed the instructor acting inappropriately with a young female student after a local tournament, and he acknowledged that he had a problem with the instructor and that he would take care of it.  We later learned that the instructor had been arrested for raping one of his minor-aged students.  Wegmann was interviewed on the news and he cooperated with the investigation, so we assumed that he had done the honorable thing by informing the police of his instructor's actions. We later learned that the victim's guidance counselor had notified the police, not Wegmann.  After we informed him of our observations, Wegmann took no actions to inform the police or to dismiss his instructor.  He is, in my view, concerned more with the financial success of his business than he is martial arts training,  basic professionalism, and ethics.  He is like the "Joe Paterno" of martial arts in Raleigh.
We have three daughters, so we promptly sent notice to Wegmann that we were terminating our contract because we did not feel safe and we did not trust him to protect his minor students from predatory instructors..  He refused to terminate the contract and continued to demand payment from us.  In early 2011 my wife agreed to testify in a lawsuit against Wegmann that was brought by two of the victims of his instructor's' sexual assaults.  Wegmann was furious with my wife, and refused to talk to her without his lawyer present.  Yet he expected us to continue to pay a monthly fee for "training" that we would never receive.

    EXCELERATE PERSONAL TRAINING
Initially, when I started seeing Larry Kaminski, I only planned to go on a short term basis, its now been over three years. Larry individualizes each persons workouts for what they want to develop or correct. He is good at avoiding problems areas, like if a person has knee problems.
