    J.A. Futral Electric
Josh responded promptly after I put out a request for quotation on the Angie's List site. We scheduled a time which was just a matter of days - and he called several hours before the agreed upon time just to confirm and make sure nothing had changed. Quick review of project - he provided very reasonable quote. Actual work was scheduled within the week. Again very prompt. Josh was prepared, quite polite, efficient, and fast. Very nice guy. Would I call and hire Josh again - absolutely. Will I - yes - very soon on another project. I would recommend Josh for your electrical project.

Good work, efficiently done. Used Cutrell previously via the general contractor who did repairs and renovations in Oct-Dec 2015 on my newly-purchased, older house. Was happy with his work then and now.

Wes came out, gave me a quoted price and did way more work that he likely intended, for the quoted price. When I had called, the receptionist told me it would be flat fee, no matter how long it took and I was skeptical. The held true to their word. Wes uliamtely had to go and find some bad work another contractor had done and disconnect it. He did a great job.

    Lightning Fast Electric
Came out same day to check power from house to system. Very kind and courteous. When it was determined we had power, he helped to contact others who might help. Did not charge for visit, even on such short notice. Will be keeping them in mind for any future projects or needs that arise and recommending them to friends!

e.When we purchased our home in late 4/2015, it came with a home owners warranty through ORHP. Shortly after moving in, our garage door opener stopped responding to remotes as well as the wired control on the garage wall. We contacted ORHP about our problem.
First, ORHP set us up with a company - I don't remember the name - that didn't seem able to contact us to setup an appointment. Subsequent research revealed that others had had similar issues with the company.
Second, ORHP setup us up with a MUCH BETTER company - Crawford Doors(?). Because we were in a hurry to get our Garage Door Opener (GDO) repaired/replaced, we decided to purchase on our own and just have Crawford install the GDO. I had asked ORHP if they would reimburse for the cost of an equivalent GDO. We wanted a better model than what came with the house.
Crawford sent out a very nice, friendly, competent technician - Bill I think - who did a fine job of replacing the old GDO with the one we'd purchased. Thus far, no problem.
When we tried to get reimbursed for the value of the replaced GDO through ORHP, they denied the claim because they said there was no proof the GDO was broken; however, Bill told me it was. I asked ORHP to contact Crawford Doors. I also spoke with a lady
in the office of Crawford to verify with ORHP that the original GDO was, indeed, broken - Bill told me it was.
After going back and forth several times with both Crawford as well as ORHP, the end result is that they never reimbursed us. I'm very disappointed with ORHP. I have some additional work that should be covered, but I'm hesitant to even bother contacting ORHP to get the repair done.
Oh, the $60 was paid to Crawford; standard practice is to pay a "contractor's fee" to which I'd agreed.
Update on 1/7/2015: I was contacted by someone with Old Republic Home Protection and I explained the situation. They sent me a check for $190.00 so I am updating my review with an overall grade of a B.

    Francis Electric
I contacted Mr. Francis through this site and received a return email the same night. We spoke the next day and scheduled for the work to be completed 4 days later. Mr. Francis was very accommodating when I had to at the last minute reschedule due to a hurricane and being called into work. we rescheduled for the following week. Mr. Francis was prompt and very professional upon his arrival. I was delighted to see he works with apprentices' ... who was also very professional.  The two quickly installed the fans, tested them and discussed the warranties with me. I am very happy with his service and will keep him on my list of go to contractors. I would recommend his services.

Carolina Creations Pools & Landscapes Inc
We had contacted many different companies to get quotes to complete our pool. Carolina Creations was by far the best decision we could have made. Carolina Creations installed our pool, ran the electrical, plumbing and so much more. They went above and beyond with every aspect of the job completed. The price was?extremely?reasonable for the quality of work they preformed. Carolina Creations was? professional in every aspect. My husband and myself could not have been more pleased with the results. You will not regret hiring Carolina Creations to complete you landscaping dreams.

I run 4 retail stores in NC.  As district manager, it's my responsibility to take care of any maintenance issues that arise.  Angie's List has been a valuable tool for finding the right person/company for the job.  However, no electrician on the sight was able to do the work, so I resorted to Yahoo.  Ottaway Electric Service was a local, Holly Ridge, company.
I called Ottaway Electric Service and they said they could do the job, which was to replace a circuit breaker in an electrical panel.  He quoted me $100.  He asked me what kind of breaker it was and I told him it was a Siemens 20 amp.  He came to do the job that day.  At that time I had to be at another location and had the manager of the store keep me posted.  When the electrician arrived, He instructed the manager that he didn't have the breaker.  The electrician saw that we had some old, used breakers on the panel and opted to use that one.  When the manager told me, I told the electrician that we wanted and needed a new breaker.  I was told that it was working fine, but he would order a new breaker and fix the problem.  So since I didn't want to pay for MY breaker, the electrician said he would drop the price to $90.  We paid him in cash, which was a huge mistake.  The breaker broke within an hour.  He's never come back and they do not return my phone calls.  I would never use them again.
