    Frye Masonry Inc
Mr. Frye did a first class job rebuilding and topping off our chimneys including replacing the flashing around them. He came when he said he would and, finished them within the time he said it would take. His work was always kept neat and orderly and his cost was true to his estimate. In addition, we he was able to fix an issue with an iron gate attached to a brick wall. We've had a nice dry and toasty winter and spring thanks to him. He'll be the first and only one we'll call for future masonry work.

    Gibson's Grading And Construction
We have an old house that was constructed as a vacation home in the 1920's.  Over the years, parts of the foundation began to crumble causing the house to become somewhat unstable, with visible changes in the floor, walls and doorways.  We contracted with Gibson Grading and Construction to shore up the foundation and repair a cracked floor joist.
Mr. Gibson is very competent and thorough in his work.  He installed a number of new concrete block piers under the house to solidify the foundation, and repaired the cracked floor joist.  He also rebuilt the back outside corner brick pier and one other outside brick pier that were crumbling due to inferior mortar.  He worked hard to ensure that our house was stable and returned to as close to level as possible.  He also kept us informed of the progress of the work on a daily basis.
In addition to the foundation, he rebuilt and expanded the back porch/deck to more than twice the original size, bringing it up to code and giving it a great new look.  We did not know at the time that we asked him to include this project in his work that the old back porch, which is up about 9 feet in the air, was very unstable and close to collapse.  It is now solid and much more functional, and looks great.  A third project that we asked Mr. Gibson to undertake was to regrade the front yard to keep water from flowing off the paved road out front into the yard and under the house.  In addition to bringing in loads of dirt as part of this project, Mr. Gibson added a drain system to channel any problematic water away from house and down into a natural drainage area east of the house.  He also built up the parking area in front of the house to channel water away from the front lawn, and installed a retaining wall to maintain the integrity of the parking area.
We are extremely pleased with the outcome of all three of the projects included in this contract.  Mr. Gibson is a perfectionist about his work, and does all he can to make sure that every he does is done right and has the maximum amount of improvement.  I highly recommend him to others who may have similar projects.

We  contracted with Mr. Kitchen to build a 31'L X 3"H brick retaining wall. Now, the first step was to dig and pour the footings and install #5 Re-Bar so the concrete would be poured over the re-bar at least 24" deep. Then install the 8" Block wall and then install the brick over the concrete block. Bobby, his mason (and his son Josh) did a great job installing the block and brick. After that was completed, tar was applied to the backside of the wall so moisture would not get into the block and also install a drain around the wall that would drain any additional water away from the wall. Mr. Kitchen recommended that we use pre-fabricated steps which we also covered with Brick. They were 36" wide. After the wall was completed, an acid wash was done to the wall. Firefox sealing will be used to seal the brick.

Now, it is noted that there are very few good mason's left in the area. Many went out of business after the recession, so the good mason's are hard to fine. Additionally, I had to work around his time frame and schedule, so we had to be VERY patient with this contractor due to his work load with other clients that he was also working with. I was responsible is getting the product to the work site, but Mr. Kitchen told me how much and what to order from our local Cason's distributor.

    Independent Stoneworks LLC
We requested a quote and Jason responded within 2 days. He took us to the stone supplier to review the patterns available. As soon as our stone arrived, he set up an appointment for the work. He also gave me a source for a new mantle board. First, he sent over a carpenter to build framework for the upward extension, then he brought the stone and started. He introduced us to Mario, his helper. He said that Mario does better work than he. We were a little nervous, but said OK. Mario turned out to be exactly what Jason said he was. He fitted each stone perfectly and with lots of attention to detail. When he was finished, the result was amazing. Noone who's seen it can believe it's not real stone, and every stone fits it's neighbor perfectly. I can't tell you how pleased we are with the workmanship.

    SOLID ROCK MASONRY
Michael and his father came and provided an estimate to rebuild a 1950s brick porch, which was crumbling. I had initially hoped for a much larger porch but could not afford it so we went with half the original size, which was still much larger than what I already had in place. Michael was very patient as we reevaluated what I could afford and he adapted his estimate. I wanted a front porch that could accomodate several chairs and that would also add value to the home. Michael and team cleared the crumbling bricks, outlined a porch with softer curves than the original (just as I asked) and spent several days making sure it would be sturdy and beautiful. The stone they helped me choose complements my home's light red brick. The porch adds value to my home. They were very professional and kind. They cleaned up behind themselves and were very respectful while they were here. I can't tell you every detail of what they did but it was exhausting to watch them. They worked hard all day each day they were here and did not try to rush the job.
I would suggest telling Michael what you can afford if you have a limit. I think many of his customers do not have a limit, but he treated me as though my job were as important as any other. His wife helped out by answering my multiple emails concerning the details. I appreciate their time and help and we love our new porch!

    SOLID ROCK MASONRY
Michael Dillingham, his father, and Danny arrived the first day exactly on time and as promised.  They proceeded to construct a beautiful outdoor fireplace for us just as we had discussed.  During the process of building the outdoor fireplace, Michael and his father checked with us throughout the process and made design enhancements and improvements that made the fireplace even better.  Just as they were completing the project, it began to rain, and they carefully covered the fireplace so it would be protected until it was completely dry.  Michael, his father, and Danny were very professional and courteous throughout the entire project, and we were very pleased with their work and the final results.  I would highly recommend Solid Rock Masonry for any stone or masonry project that you have in mind.
