    Gibson's Grading And Construction
It has been 2+ years since Gibson Grading and Construction removed an old wood sagging retaining wall and added a curved three-tier retaining wall. This wall is located right next to a state road and gets a lot of rushing water by it. The wall has not moved at all and I have not even noticed any Settling. It looks as beautiful as when first built. I have had a small amount of sediment go through wall during heavy rains, but believe that to be because of a mole problem in the area and some sediment is to be expected in this type of build. Love it, well worth the investment and am thankful for their hard work and Davids great design eye.

Their work was not worth paying for. They talk a good song and are oh so polite. However, they did not think through the proper solution and what they did was sloppy. They did not try to determining the best way to keep water out and just dug a ditch where they could get it done fastest? How about stuffing a rag into a drainage pipe connection instead of going to the store for a proper connector? How about not wiping a crawl space they said they had wiped, and leaving debris all over. Find some other company!!

    Gibson's Grading And Construction
I was very pleased with the professionalism, knowledge and price. We were set to go a head and have the work done but then had an unexpected expense come up and had to use the funds elsewhere. I still hope to have it done sometime. I would definitely recommend Gibson's. Their price was very fair.

Although the water intrusion has stopped, which I give them full credit for, I was very disappointed in the finishing of the job. The pipe that takes the water from the house, was about 150 feet in length and went across the front yard, under the sidewalk and down towards the street. When they had finished the installation, friends remarked to me that the pipe was sitting above grade and looked like a long lump in the yard. When I contacted and spoke to John about it, he assured me that it would settle down and become level in a few weeks. So I waited, and waited and some of it went down, but there are still long sections that are not level with the yard, and looks like an obvious repair. I have called him and emailed several times and told him that if it were not fixed by end of last year that I would let others know via this review. I had thought of holding money back, but really liked and trusted him, so I did not. Now I wish I had. It's too bad. If he had just been professional enough to finish and do what he said, I would have given him a very good review.

    Gibson's Grading And Construction
If we could give David Gibson and his father 10 stars, we would!  Never in our experience with having any kind of work done have we had such an incredibly positive experience.   Due to heavy rains and other factors, the gravel road that runs behind our house collapsed.  We knew of David Gibson through neighbors so another neighbor and I called him to look at this very dangerous situation.  After looking at the road, David, a civil engineer, declared it unsafe.  We are just grateful that nobody was hurt or killed when the road collapsed and totally agreed with David's assessment.
David notified his other customers of the situation and they graciously understood that this was a job that needed to be done as soon as possible (thank you all!)  When we purchased our home, we understood that we had to provide an access road through our property in case of a situation like this, so we already had a rough area cleared and wide gates on our fence.  David and his father came to work immediately and put in a wonderful new road for our neighbors to get out.  (At the time of writing this review, David is working with other neighbors who have lost total access to this new road because of their proximity to the collapsed road.)
But the story goes far beyond excellent work and professionalism.  I have never met anyone who has cared so deeply for the safety of everyone and has done everything in his power to work with the seven of us involved in this unfortunate situation.  At one point, David was ready to begin a fundraiser to help with neighbors who couldn't afford the work to be done!  He stayed in touch with us daily prior to the job through emails and phone calls to all involved.  He and his father were punctual, professional, friendly - in short - outstanding!
The job that David and his father did on putting in the new permanent road was excellent.  Several large trucks have already been up the road with no problems.  We needed our driveway graded and he and his father did that for us too.  We will continue working with Gibson Grading on having the road maintained over the years, but hopefully will continue the professional relationship in friendship.

They did a good job on sealing up the basement. The french drain was a bit of a challenge. My car port was still flooding after a good steady rain. When they came back to fix, they removed some nice gravel that they installed originally and dug a little deeper and put in some stuff that was butt ugly. I didn't make a big deal of it because ultimately what I wanted was the flooding fixed. Getting them back to fix the problem took weeks. They often didn't return phone calls. The main guy said he had come out to look, but he didn't bother to tell me. The second time didn't fix it either. They finally came out a third time to work on the french drain after many phone calls and most of them not returned. I was told their answering service wasn't working a few times. Internet problems or something. But that went on for weeks. They finally sent someone out and they brought the drain further out from the edge of the car port. (The original problem they said was they couldn't dig any deeper because the edge of the carport had cement that was beyond the edge. My thought, they should have moved it back the first time when they realized this. The description of the ditch on estimate was it would be 12 to 18 inches deep. It was nothing close to this. I tried to point this out, they sort of ignored me. This whole miscalculation really wasn't my problem.)  They pulled ditch out on the other side of flower bed and made deeper, they put the crappy looking rock back and told me if it didn't work this time they couldn't do anything else. They pointed out how the hill on the side, (They put the drain in the front.) was so sloped that rain water was likely coming from there. Luckily this drain mostly fixed the problem. I felt they completely misjudged the drain situation. They bid low and that was tied up with some other work. So I can understand how their profit was trickling away. However; the way they handled the whole thing was unprofessional and careless. Due to this I decided I would probably not use them again. If you hire them to do their specialty, crawl space sealing, treatment and remedy, you may be happy with them. Just know you may have to deal with some issues around getting them to call back, etc.

    Gibson's Grading And Construction
David Gibson responded immediately to my request for graveling and provided a quote after I emailed a picture of the status of my drive. He honored that quote to the penny. We scheduled a mutually agreeable date. He and his father, Joe, began and completed the job the same day. David had me show him my desired " lines" for gravel and honored these. My drive was in horrible shape with bare ground showing through and a multitude of weeds. You can see from the picture what an excellent job these professionals did. David has a degree in engineering and knows his business! He proved to be adept at the use of technology and generated my bill on the spot with his tablet. David and Joe are very polite, personable and trustworthy. You will feel comfortable in their presence. I'm very happy I contacted them!

    Gibson's Grading And Construction
We have an old house that was constructed as a vacation home in the 1920's.  Over the years, parts of the foundation began to crumble causing the house to become somewhat unstable, with visible changes in the floor, walls and doorways.  We contracted with Gibson Grading and Construction to shore up the foundation and repair a cracked floor joist.
Mr. Gibson is very competent and thorough in his work.  He installed a number of new concrete block piers under the house to solidify the foundation, and repaired the cracked floor joist.  He also rebuilt the back outside corner brick pier and one other outside brick pier that were crumbling due to inferior mortar.  He worked hard to ensure that our house was stable and returned to as close to level as possible.  He also kept us informed of the progress of the work on a daily basis.
In addition to the foundation, he rebuilt and expanded the back porch/deck to more than twice the original size, bringing it up to code and giving it a great new look.  We did not know at the time that we asked him to include this project in his work that the old back porch, which is up about 9 feet in the air, was very unstable and close to collapse.  It is now solid and much more functional, and looks great.  A third project that we asked Mr. Gibson to undertake was to regrade the front yard to keep water from flowing off the paved road out front into the yard and under the house.  In addition to bringing in loads of dirt as part of this project, Mr. Gibson added a drain system to channel any problematic water away from house and down into a natural drainage area east of the house.  He also built up the parking area in front of the house to channel water away from the front lawn, and installed a retaining wall to maintain the integrity of the parking area.
We are extremely pleased with the outcome of all three of the projects included in this contract.  Mr. Gibson is a perfectionist about his work, and does all he can to make sure that every he does is done right and has the maximum amount of improvement.  I highly recommend him to others who may have similar projects.

The leaks in the system were repaired by putting a clear putty-like sealant over the leaks.  They responded to my initial request quickly.  While they were here there was a mildew/mold issue discovered.  The promise to help eliminate the mildew/mold area has yet to be fulfilled.  I will continue to use this company for warranty repairs but would hesitantly recommend them to a friend.

We had a leak in our basement. We called they were extremely courteous, and professional. They contacted us by mail with a packet of information about their service, provided a written confirmation of our appointment time, and the name, brief resume and picture of the person coming to our home. They followed up the week before to ensure we were still available. They were not only on time, but called us the morning of and said they were ahead of schedule and asked if they could come earlier! Saved me time that day! After thoroughly inspecting the problem areas, they informed us due to an inadequate gutter system and inadequate drainage in the area of the leak, if we fixed the gutter and drainage as they recommend, it might resolve the problem, if not to call them and they will come back, but to try that first. We will try what they recommend and hope that there are no reoccurrence of the problem. VERY honest!!! No charge for the inspection and estimate. Great company I would use or highly recommend.
