    Contacted via Angie's List "contact" link. Never got a response. Did get a call from Ray Helms a few days later who promised to come out the inspect the property to provide an estimate. After I didn't hear back from him, I called twice over several days (May 2nd and 3rd) and left a message. No one ever called back. Gave my business to a competitor who wanted my business.

    I called and left a message. As a veteran myself, I was interested in their advertised pro-vet advertising. Barry (I think) called right back. I was concerned he had just a few reviews on Angie's List and he said that he's tried to get customers to provide reviews with little success. I decided to ask a few basic questions about his company. When I discovered that there was (apparently) only one or two employees and this guy (Barry?) was out of town on a weekday and that he also held another job (as a law enforcement officer?), I told him I was looking for a "larger" company and (although I didn't say it) a company that was around during the week. He then tried to "sell" me on his company and that I shouldn't "judge a book by it's cover". As I had already made up my mind, I told him no thank you and that I would provide a review on Angie's List - here it is!

    It was ok. I will not use again. They were a little cheaper on the Angie's List offer than my one man shop is; however, my one man shop does a better job. I will pay the extra and get someone who is not rushed and does a through job.

    They just never showed up. They'd tell me, they were coming by but you wouldn't see them for a couple weeks. They'd say "we did this...we did this...and we did this..." but I don't know if I'd believe him. ?He trimmed 1 line of bushes and charged me $60.

    I originally hired the firm in 2015 and was pleased with their service. Renewed for 2016 and was very disappointed. First they kept changing the schedule, so the lawn was getting mowed basically every three weeks instead of every two. Then once they settled on a schedule, they neglected to come. I emailed the owner and was told it had been decided my lawn didn't need mowed that week (even though my backyard was turning into a jungle). The attention to detail the original crew in 2015 used was also gone. I'm looking for a new service this year.

    Lawn Love Lawn Care
    First experience with them in the fall was great. It was so easy to request a quote online and someone called me back within an hour. They company came out the next day and did a great job. I went ahead and signed up for regular service - weed killer, lawn mowing, edging, hedge trimming. My only 'extra' request was that I asked that they knock on the door before beginning work. The first week went ok, but the next time they came out they did not knock on the door as requested. I looked out my window to find 2 strange men in my backyard. It scared me and my pets. When I completed the online survey I gave them 4 stars out of 5 because of this. I guess what happened next was retribution. The next service date rolled around and it had been raining so I went online and moved the service out by one day. I got a message that the change was successful. The day of service came and they didn't show up. I didn't get any email, call, or text. I sent multiple emails and called several times over several days. No one would return my calls or reply to emails. Finally, someone called me and told me that (1) the company had a large demand for service and didn't have enough staff to handle it and (2) they did not have enough service providers. I was told my service had been postponed an entire week, although I received no notice at all. On the day of service, again the provider didn't show up and I didn't receive any notice. I called and was told they didn't have to get to me that day, so they were going to come out 2 days later. By this point service was 9 days late. The grass was at least 8" tall and the lawn was FULL of weeds. So much for the weed killer they allegedly applied. They did finally show up and did a terrible job, probably because I dared to complain that they were 9 days late. I definitely do not recommend Lawn Love because this company already has more business than they can handle. They don't need mine or yours. **In fairness to the service provider, they did a really good job the first 2 times they were here. I was shocked that when I gave them 4 out of 5 stars, Lawn Love told them that I had "complained." I blame Lawn Love for misrepresenting my comments to them for causing hard feelings toward me.

    Woodlands Outdoor Living
    We decided to go with Woodlands and signed a contract. We gave 1/3 upfront, 1/3 at the start of the project, and the final 1/3 at completion. He pushed hard to get the second 1/3 as soon after signing the contract. Once we gave the second payment they came and did a very small part of the project and we didn���t see them again for a week. When they came back the second week they did stay until it was completed. But, his guys broke one of our outside lights and didn���t tell Scott or us ��� we just found the broken globe. When we told Scott about it he tried to say that his guys just took it down and we could put it back, but we said the globe is broken and all the hardware is gone. He also said they would be done with our project by lunch on a Friday. We had plans that evening and they didn���t finish until 5:30 and we had to change our plans in order to meet Scott and give the final payment. When we tried to wait on the final payment he said he really needed the money to make payroll that week. Well, it���s not my problem if you can���t make your payroll and how is getting the payment at 5:30 on a Friday when the banks are closed going to help your payroll? At the end of the project he said that if we needed anything or noticed anything else that needed to be touched up to let him know and they would come back out. He also said they would have the new light fixture for us the next week. One of the aspects of this project was a gravel pad for a new shed. When the shed was delivered we discovered that the pad was not level and it also wasn���t the right size we specified. Two weeks after our project was done my husband called to find out about the light fixture and also to let Scott know we needed some grass seed added to some thin spots in our yard. We have never heard back from him. My husband has left him multiple messages that have not been returned. While the project was going on he was quick to return calls or answer the phone. Now that he has all the money we���ll never see them again. We paid over $17,000 for this project and the very least he could do is replace our $35 light fixture and bring some more grass seed over. I think Scott is a good salesman, and is good at talking a good game. I don���t think he ever intended to come back after he got the final payment from us. While the work wasn���t bad, it definitely wasn���t really great either. There are quite a few things that we done sloppy or half way. We definitely won���t be using them again and we won���t be recommending them to any friends or family either. Overall, pretty unhappy with their lack of customer service.

    PERFECT CUT LANDSCAPING
    We have an annual contract with them so that they have a schedule to come out when needed throughout the year. Very reliable. The owner is very helpful and very responsive to any phone calls, and also to see if there is an area that he can help out in with any question you have. He is very competent and very knowledgeable and continuing also with his training and education to continue to better service customers. He is someone very easy to get along with from a customer perspective, a really good customer rapport. When you look at different services in the area especially for an annual contract, it is a competitive price. Unless there is something specific, they have a set schedule of coming out for lawn cutting, so generally they are right on time and understanding about any special needs you might have. If someone in my neighborhood was in need of service, I would definitely recommend them.

    We signed a contract with Jim Corcoran for weed spray, core areation and over seeding for our yard. He was nice to deal with before signing the contract however, disappeared as soon as the payment was made. His team delayed the work on our lawn significantly until it was probably too cold for over-seeding. When I pointed this out to Jim, he said how he knows it all and that it is not delayed at all when the temperatures were below 60 degrees. When they supposedly did the job, it was very shoddy. I contacted Jim right away and also sent him pictures of how bad a job his team had done. In the attached pictures, you can see several areas where no aeration was done at all. At least 60-70% of the lawn was untouched and there were no plugs pulled from the lawn at all during aeration. All he did was make excuses and asked me to keep the lawn moist which I did for several weeks. He also mentioned that if we still don't see results, his team will come back out and fix the lawn. Off course, the result were nothing but poor because the job was never done right and no amount of water was going to make grass grow when his team didn't even do the core aeration and seeding properly. I have raised a claim and disputed the transaction with Jim's company because of his lack of responsiveness and his unwillingness to fix the problem and will make sure I show this review to everyone in my neighborhood so that no one else gets taken advantage of.

    PINE VALLEY TURF MANAGEMENT & DESIGN
    Mulch package was completed an done to my satisfaction. Took a little while but it got done. As for yard fertilization a big fat F. Wish I had before and after pictures. My biggest complaint is with the bermuda kill down program I agreed to do with them and weed control. Just know you will have more weeds with them than you would if you controlled on your own. As for the bermuda kill down it is suppose to be 3 treatments with 14-21 days in between treatments. I had my first treatment in July and have yet to have my 2nd. I called once an was told "oh the work order has been pulled." Called 2 weeks later after nothing had been done. The area initially sprayed are brown with bermuda growing back into them. Fortunately I only paid the $80 for first treatment but that has been a waste. Pine Valley needs to be spending their own time, resources, and money to fix my yard because they have taken a B grade yard to an F!!
