    Ed Mehling Construction
Ed is wonderful. The whole process from estimate to completion was smooth and transparent. He answered all questions promptly and was always available to contact. I will definitely be hiring him again.

    Mr. Remodel
We first contacted the provider via his website in early August, 2013, describing our need (to build a portico on an existing house) and that we'd like a quote. He responded timely and came out to talk to us and see the house. By late August he provided us a quote and very nice drawings of what could be done. We were pleased with the drawings and the quote. We had some further communication about options. Brock was candid in letting me know it was a very busy time for him, that once summer was over and kids back in school, that's when many folks want projects done. Brock made a good impression in the interactions we *did* have, and we wouldn't rule out still having him do work for us. Status as of now, though is we called his business and left a couple messages, and emailed him in late November, asking for an estimated timeframe our project could be done. We've not heard back from him since Oct. 10th. We really didn't want to start over looking for another provider, but will give Angies List another gander.

    BK Roofing And Seamless Gutters
Professional installation. Very thorough and meticulous. Performed a walk through after the installation and picked up and carted off everything including scraps of metal and all debris from the gutter. Replace a downspout that was clogged and tested the installation before they left. I strongly advise them for roof and gutters as well emergency tarp service.

    Affordable-Expert Home Improvements LLC
David impressed me by his initial email apologizing for not returning my communication in 24 hours. It was just over that but his sincerity was what caused me to hire his company.  William met me at my home at a time that was convenient for me to do a walk through and made a list of improvements needed.  I was given an estimate of cost within 48 hours and was thrilled with the amount of work I could get done with what I had to spend.  I was only in town for a week and the guys started as soon as they could and were fast and efficient.  I admittedly came  up with little things I wanted to add such as new lights and the guys put them up for me at no extra charge.  They were professional and at the same time they were so nice to have around that by the end of the week they felt like family and even though I had to leave town I felt totally comfortable giving them the keys to my house and having them finish without my being there. This was a totally great experience and I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends.  I would suggest being very clear about exactly what you want done because they are so good at saving money that they might not give you all the options to consider. There were times I might have chosen to spend a little more money and go a little higher end with materials. This was my fault for not asking for all options and for indicating that I wanted to get as much as I could on a tight budget.  In spite of this, I am very pleased with my results.

    NS Painting & Construction
I live in North Carolina, so it is hard to get a reputable contractor who will not rip you off.  Neb and NS painting and construction is an honest contractor, and will tell you up front what it is going to cost you.  There are no hidden fees that aren't revealed to you, you will know EXACTLY what it is going to cost.  Being 800 miles from my northern home, it is refreshing to know NS has my "back" when it comes to taking care of my home/renters while I am down here.  Great outfit, I highly recommend them

    Mr. Remodel

After a 90 foot pine tree fell through the roof of our house during Hurricane Irene, I called Mr. Remodel, Brock Whaley, at the recommendation of our tree service.  We had used handymen, but had never needed the services of a contractor before.   Although he was flooded with calls from regular customers, he made time to see our damage and discuss what needed to be done.  He agreed that we could live in the house during the reconstruction and his workers helped move furniture for us. He even reached into the rubble to rescue my wedding dress.  We had frequent meetings to discuss what steps would come next and to make decisions about products, colors, etc.  He helped remove our stress during this very trying period.

    Phase III Framing
Went on a trip out of town to visit family. Came home pipe had busted. Called a friend and she gave me this companys number. Called them on a Sunday and they came right out to look at  my mess! Fixed the water leak so I still had water, and he was even nice enough to help me get all of the water cleaned up. Called insurance company and when they came out he was there to speak with the agent and tell them about all of the damage. So the insurance company cut me a check on the spot and he got right to work. He was able to tear out and replace my floors all in one day, which was great because I was able to let my toddler run around and not have to worry about him falling under the house.

    5 Star Improvers
I'm glad I came across Charles.  I've had some bad experiences with other companies in the past, so I'm glad I finally found a good contractor.  He does a wide variety of work ranging from repairs to new structures.  He is also very knowledgable about materials and can usually save you money if he purchases them for you.  He is an excellent craftsman, and I will continue to use him in the future.

    Panoramic Landscapes LLC
I talked with Blake a few times on the phone to set up an appointment for an estimate. Prior to meeting for the estimate, he gave me some advice regarding best-case timing for having my work done (fall). When he came over, I walked him through all of the work I intended to have done (everything from sodding to having a retaining wall built), and he took measurements (total of about 20 minutes). He said he would send me an estimate, although I dont believe he ever gave me date when he would provide it. It is 4 weeks later and I have not heard from him. I left him a polite message on his phone, asking him whether he would still like to do business with me, reminding him that i was still looking for the estimate. I never heard from him. It would have been more professional of him to tell me that he was not interested. I am disappointed by this experience. Based on his AL reputation, I would have liked to do business with him because I am sure that it would have been good work. Also, Blake was a likeable, polite guy and I'm sure he would have been easy to work with. The only thing i can figure out is that my medium sized dog jumped up on him a couple of times, which may have bothered him. I promptly stopped the dog and removed her from his presence.

The new cabinets are not leveled properly and the screws used to hold the cabinets in place are exposed, damage to the new cabinets resulted, the new custom countertops are ridged and do not align properly (seams are clearly visible) and are not level. The new doors were installed without any weather stripping and there are gaps. The screened porch was not painted as agreed upon. The new doors on the laundry closet and pantry were not painted or stained, as agreed upon. Left all used debris in the carport (was told that was our responsibility to remove). Drove away with old sliding door (we were going to sell it to a salvage dealer) Charged us for three extra hours of labor that he had to spend in the Home Depot. Overall a miserable experience.
