  • Actually signed up for Angie's list to review local OB/GYNs because I moved mid-pregnancy to Goldsboro and didn't trust Google reviews. Very happy with the decision to go to this doctor. Have seen all doctors in the practice so far with the exception of one but I am scheduled with him for my next appointment. The office is never overly crowded and most of the time I am in and out before my scheduled appointment time. I am due in three weeks- will follow up with labor/delivery review.

  • The appointment was made pretty easily. When I got to the office, I was a little surprised by how dated it looked on the inside. All of the magazines were outdated by a year or two. But that normally does not determine the level of care, so I was open to see how it would go. It was a little taxing with the paperwork as I was still under my mother's insurance plan and she lives in another state. I had to wait a little amount of time to see the doctor, but nothing unbearable. The doctor was fine, but not someone I would prefer to go back to again. She seemed like she just wanted to get the appointment over with, and did not even ask about general health issues like diet and exercise. Not the best bedside manner. I guess I like my doctors to be a little more thorough. They were not able to do blood work that same day, so I had to come back another day to get it done. I didn't understand why this was the case, but went along with it anyways. When my blood work did come back, they said I was missing the immunity to mumps, even though I had records of getting all the mumps shots. They made it seem like I needed to go to a clinic ASAP to get the vaccine. However, I talked to a friend that is a doctor, and they said a lot of times blood work tests can be faulty. Overall, the experience was okay, but I would rather go elsewhere in the future.

  • I liked the dr but getting her report, lab results, and my diagnosis to my primary dr has been h***. I am currently without any meds and she diagnosed me with fibromyalgia last week. My dr wont give me anything until she receives my report.

  • I really enjoyed my pregnancy with this practice. All 4 doctors take their time with their patients and tend to their needs concerns!! I ended up going over 40 weeks with this pregnancy and they didn't pressure me with induction, they let my pregnancy progress and made sure the baby was still doing well by having me come in for stress tests and ultrasounds. After I had my son, the dr came the next morning to make sure I was doing well. A few days after I was home I received a handwritten card from the dr congratulating me on the birth of my son. Look forward to seeing them with my next pregnancy.

  • Not a very personal experience. you have to see all the doctors in the practice, you don't know who you will see week to week or who exactly will deliver your baby. As my 3rd pregnancy this was a very strange experience for me.

  • I have been to this doctor multiple times and there are some good and bad. the good they were very nice and it was very comfortable. the bad is that i had moved and forgot to change my address (my fault) but they sent me to collections with out a single phone call. i have always paid them previously they could have atleast tried to call me and i would have paid it right away. beyond that its not to bad except sometimes it seems they just want a quick visit and dont do all the proper checking. i have had cervical issues and know i have to go a lot but they seem to skip test other dr's did.

  • I called the doctor’s office on the 25th of June 2012 around 12:00pm and spoke to the ladies up front, I told them that I thought that I had a urinary tract infection because it hurt a lot when I pass urine, they asked if I had a fever and I told them no, they asked who my doctor was and I told them Dr. Mark LaFave. They put me on hold, then came back and told me to go ahead and bring a sample in. I told them I was at work and I would have to come there and do it. They said fine but when I was done to bring the sample to them at the front. I came to the office and provided the sample. While I waited to give the ladies at the front the sample a female employee came up and said that I needed to put the sample in the transfer box and I explained that I was told to give it to the ladies up front, I was thinking that they were going to hand carry it to the lab, I have never done this procedure when I did not have an appointment. She asked who my Dr. was and I told her Dr. LaFave, she left calling for Dana Dr. LaFave’s nurse. The next thing I know a short blonde female came flying around the corner with her face red with anger and she snaps at me that I was to put the sample in the metal transfer box so she could get a hold of it. Once again I tried to explain what I was directed to do when I called in but before I could start she cut me off rudely and in a very loud and rude voice she tells me that I was supposed to come in, give the sample and then tell the ladies up front and that THEY did not handle urine samples, all this time there are customers out in the waiting room hearing her berate and belittle me, basically telling me that I was stupid and that I did not matter to her one bit. So I got angry in return, threw my sample into the toilet and left the building telling her that she could kiss my a**, yes I know that was not proper on my part but she had upset me so much and I was so angry I spewed out the words. After leaving the office I called to leave a message with Dr. LaFave’s nurse Dana but this time she answered the phone and I told her that I was not going to allow an employee at that clinic to talk to me or treat me in that fashion and her response was ,”Okay, that’s fine. They don’t even care how they treat their patients and I think they should be reprimanded or something that will make them change how they do business and treat their patients and customers.

  • After my initial appointment with Dr Whitley, I was scheduled for an overnight appointment at the sleep clinic. The clinic staff was very professional and did their best to make patients feel at ease. My next appointment, with PA Runyan, was great. She took a lot of time to discuss the options open to me. Because I chose to try a mouthguard (mandibular repositioning device) rather than the Darth Vader mask thing, my subsequent appointments were with Dr Cunningham. He is one of my all-time favorite medical professionals. he's easy to talk to, professional, patient and has a good sense of humor. Most importantly, he NEVER talks down to me, and really listens to what I have to say. I haven't needed an appointment since getting the device adjusted properly, but there's no doubt I'll return to Eastern ENT and Dr Cunningham for any future ENT needs.

  • Dr. Lies was great! The office leaves a lot to be desired though. It took almost my entire pregnancy for them to get all my information correct (name, insurance, etc.). Far too many nurses and other miscellaneous staff, and not enough doctors. Wait times to be seen are pretty long.

  • I entered the office about 15 minutes prior to my appointment time so I could fill out forms if needed. Once forms were complete and copay had been paid I waited maybe 3-4 minutes for the nurse to come get me. I gave a urine sample, as is always necessary. Once I was through she escorted me to the doctors office where we had a conversation on my plans and recent health. I explained the idea of a second pregnancy and the need for removal of my Mirena contraceptive. He was very knowledgeable, factual, and realistic in his expectations of me if I were to become pregnant again and gave me tips on how to keep my blood pressure down. Once the verbal exam was done I was taken back tot he physical exam room and given a gown to change into. It may seem simple but having a gown over just some miniature paper drapes is important to me! Anyways, once I was changed the doctor entered with his nurse and began the assessment. Once he noted everything appeared normal he performed a pap smear and then removed the Mirena device. He even asked if I wanted to see the device, which was kinda cool. The doctor was not roll-on-the-floor funny during the exam but he did seem to make the visit a little less uncomfortable than it could've been. Afterwards I was given time to clean up and change and exited the office. The reception staff, nurses, and doctor were all very inviting and helpful throughout this visit.
