    FLD Handyman Services
We can never say enough good things about Tom Faulkner: His work ethic and craftsmanship sets him apart from all other contractors we have worked with. Tom works on each project as if it was his own. We live two hours away from our townhome and we gave him the key without reservations. A trustworthy man who gets the job done to your satisfaction. Our project took several weeks, Tom communicated with us each week. Professional and kind describe Tom. If you have work to be done, Tom is your man!

    Pinnacle Custom Decks & Remodeling
What started off as a trustful working relationship, slowly but surely ended with extreme disappointment and disrespect. We hired Julian to remodel our master bathroom. We agreed to pay half upfront and the balance upon him completing the bathroom. The project was slated to start 2/19/18, and we were told it would take 1-2 weeks to complete. Boy were we in for a ride. After countless mistakes being caught by myself and my wife, and the fact that there was not a single day he or his workers worked for more than 4-5 hours (and Im being generous), this project went on for 9 more weeks. During this project Julian had many excuses as to why it was taking so long, which we were okay with, as he ensured us it would be done. Because the project took so long, Julian asked us to pay the remaining $5,600 so that he could pay his employees, which we did because at this point we still foolishly had some trust in him to complete the job. Just a couple days later, we were told Julian was out for 2-4 weeks as he was having knee problems. We have been trying since the 3rd week in April to get Julian or his employees to come out and fix the remaining mistakes on the project. The quality and craftsmanship is not up to par with the money we paid him and we even had another contractor come out to inspect the work and he agreed it was a terrible job. He has left a cracked tile in the shower, an amateur grout job, the mirror is falling off the wall as he did not secure it properly, the towel rack and baseboards are not flush with with wall and are extremely scuffed up, the bathroom door no longer shuts and grinds the transition strip, and lastly the toilet is not set properly and wobbles. We received a quote of $5,000 to fix all the poor craftsmanship and mistakes on the bathroom. We have tried resolving this peacefully since May, and Julian and his secretary Anita have ceased all communication with us. We have emailed, called, and texted countless times Ive dyhe past two months and we are now simply being ignored. We are beginning the process of a lawsuit. I dont know what else to do at this point, and it is even more disappointing with the fact that Julian claims to be a Christian man and would often discuss things of spiritual nature with us throughout the project. Pictures of the work are included in this review.

    Jimmy's Coating Unlimited Inc
I choose Jimmy's Coatings Unlimited it was a little higher in price but he met my deadline. I liked his professionalism from the beginning. Sheetrock work was very poor on ceilings before & Jimmy's company repaired all ceilings. They were able to paint all walls in a timely & professional manner. Jimmy caulked base & crown due to cracks & caulk & nail pops. He stands out from the others because he saw things & fixed for no charge. Once job was completed Jimmy's company cleaned all floors.

    Jimmy's Coating Unlimited Inc
Work was very well done, and within the time framed promised. Price was exactly what was quoted, and there was no added work done without approval ahead of time. They cleaned up at the end of each day, were professional in our interactions, and did not ask for payment until they were done with the job. What I really liked was the time that they took to explain exactly what needed to be done to make things right on the house. I would recommend this company as a trust worthy service provider.

    Painting & Moore

Overall B: we are satisfied with the final look of the room and that the work is actually complete

Price A: they were dead center out of 3 quotes received

Quality C: because I think the fact that it took 3 tries to reach A/B quality is a bit excessive

Responsiveness, Punctuality & Professionalism: I will say that Wes always responded quickly and was available immediately to get his crew back out. I do believe that Painting & Moore stands behind their work and guarantees the quality as they came back out to redo their work twice (even after we'd paid them) and I honestly believe the owner(s) would have been disappointed in the initial quality of work received.  The B rating for professionalism is with regards to the initial quality of the work and the fact that the crew didn't bring a vacuum and just used mine without permission.

This entire issue could have been avoided had the crew worked at a slower, more methodical pace when they began the project, taking the time to ensure they were doing quality work. It seems like they simply worked too quickly the first time they came out and then attempted to partially correct/repair instead of actually redoing the room. The same crew returned each time and the third time they did do a good job and everything looks like it should.

I would consider using Painting & Moore again as I'm not sure our experience was typical, based upon other customer reviews. The guys did return several times to redo work until the job was completed to meet everyone's standards.

How it went: The contractors called to let us know they would not be there the morning of the first day they were scheduled to work at our house, which was fine; they started later and apparently did a lot of drywall patching and sanding because when I walked into the house that afternoon, the crew was using my vacuum cleaner to clean up the mess.  The last day I was at the house while the painting was being completed.  I noticed someone applying a very thick second coat of paint not 15 minutes after he finished applying the first coat and it wasn't looking good on the walls; at one point I stopped him and asked him to please let the first coat dry.

The entire job was completed in the expected timeframe (4 days), but upon inspection we noticed they'd missed very large areas where the drywall clearly needed to be repaired, there were spots where the painters had gobbed paint up and it had run down the walls and also areas where they'd simply not painted (by accident) and left only primer. I called our Project Manager Wes, and he and another employee came over the next morning to check out the work.  They suggested completing repairs, resanding the walls and repainting and I agreed.  The guys came back out and did resand in some places and repaint. Every five inches or so the walls had been sanded very smooth and every other five inches or so were left thick and gobbed up with running paint.  I asked Wes to return and sent him some photos. He came back out and agreed that the quality of the work was still not acceptable.

Wes brought his crew back in (for the third time) and redid that entire room. We all agree that at this time the walls have been fully repaired, sanded smooth, and were repainted well.  The room looks good.

    Quality Prep & Paint DBA
We purchased a Big Deal from Angies list for so many man hours of work. He called us and asked us what we would like done. We explained that we had investment property that needed sheetrock and various repairs. We made an appointment for him to come look at it. He was late arriving to our investment property. We were just about to leave when he called my husband's cell and told us he was at our place of residence. We gave him the address of the investment property, yet again, and he arrived there in about 20 minutes after his phone call. He got out of his van and proceeded to tell us that he never makes any money on "The Big Deal"! Then he tried to sell us some kind of vitamin juice, gave us pamphlets on the stuff and proceeded to tell us that his wife was bitten by a recluse spider and that she never had to go to the doctors for they treated it with this vitamin stuff he was promoting and she healed up nicely, and he had the pictures to prove it, so he said. He came in and gave us an estimate of $3,000 to tear out the OUTSIDE walls and put in the insulation and re sheetrock, all of the materials were supplied by my husband and I. The walls that he wouldn't tear out he would fill in the holes and repair them to  as as good as new and he would re sheetrock the kitchen and living room ceillings. He also said he would trim out the doorways and windows and remove a window in the kitchen, all which was included in the price. He came with his team, two other men, who were his sons. He had one of his sons insulate the ceilings, which was also included in the price. When my husband came to inspect the insulation of the ceilings, he noticed that the insulation was put in BACKWARDS. AT this point, Reggie showed up and seemed a bit agitated with his son. My husband voiced the mistake made by Reggie's son, that the insulation was put in backwards, and Reggie said, he would make sure tol fix it, and they did! We gave them the key to our investment property so they could come and go easier without waiting on one of us to open the door. Reggie spent 1 to 2 days sheetrocking the rooms after tearing out the outside walls, the trim around the doors and windows and insulating.they left for  the week and came back on a weekday the following week. We showed up to view the progress. Reggie was complaining of having no money to pay his sons. I offered to give him a check for $1500, half of the agreed quote and he accepted. He came back another day to do some more work.  When my husband asked him what about the window he was supposed to take out. Reggie said he didn't recall this in the quote. Then my husband asked him about the trim, and he said that wasn't in the quote either.  I explained to him that I had a vacation coming up in two weeks and that I would like the work done by then. He said okay, left and  never showed up again. My husband had a few things that he had to touch up before Reggie and his crew could finish the kitchen sheetrock, he explained this to Reggie and he voiced he was fine with that. Reggie never showed again. He did call my husband about 6 weeks later asking when would be a good time to finish up. My husband and I decided that their work was shoddy and we would not continue with them. We consider our loss and moved on.

    CAROLINA PAINTING & CARPENTRY INC
I have had this house and several others painted over the years and never have I had a final product that approached the quality work done by Carolina Painting and Carpentry.  I have pretty high expectations and am often diasappointed, but Carolina Painting and Carpentry exceeded my expectations.
I had several quotes and they were actually the highest, but I was so impressed with my discussions with the owner and information provided in the estimate that I decided to spend the extra money.  One of the best decisions I have made in a good while!
I highly recommend these folks for doing an absolutely first class job.

    HONEY DO FOR YOU LLC
Great job Joe!. Was having a problem with another contractor that I hired by "word of mouth". Joe was able to come in an do what the other contractor said could not be done. Joe was always punctual and called when he would be delayed, in my case weather delayed the job by one day. Joe leveled out a back porch that had settled due to age and installed an exterior door on the same porch. Also Joe was able to fix some boards that had been installed poorly by the previous contractor. Joe has an eye for detail and took care of some issues that could had been a problem in the future. Wish I had found Joe through Angies List before I hired the other guy. Will continue to use Joe's services in the future

    CARPENTRY SUBCONTRACTORS
Very well. They showed up on time, everyday, and got the job done. They paid close attention to detail, and made sure that everything was straight and square. Each piece of sheathing is perfectly lined up and square with the last. At plumbing rough-in, my plumber said that these guys "should give lessons in framing" - he'd never seen a full single-piece bath-and-shower slip so perfectly into place, with no need to shim-up anything.
