Couldn't have gone better. Excellent in all respects. I got a total of five estimates for this major project on a high-end home, one was much higher, one was much lower, their's was in the middle with two others. What I got for my money was a really high quality group of finish carpenters who not only installed quality windows as promised, but did the trim-finish work to make this into a truly beautiful three season outdoor room. The owner of the company Todd personally visited my home twice in the initial estimating process and gave me clear information and good suggestions. They started when promised, the crew showed up every day on time, Rob & Dan were a pleasure to work with. They understood exactly what I was trying to accomplish and exceeded my expectations. There was no hidden 'extras', no games, no gimmicks. I couldn't recommend them more highly, would gladly hire them again for any window - door project.

    Jam Carolina Exteriors
We had initially gotten several quotes for updating our screen porch and extensive wood repair on our bay window. I remembered one of our neighbors had gotten similar work and recommended Jam Carolina. Turns out, Chris and Jam Carolina had the best pricing. They were also extremely responsive. But the quality of their work and respect for my property is what gave my wife piece of mind. We are already planning to have them paint our exterior and replace carpet with hard wood floors.

Whole experience was beyond awful. Workmanship was exceptionally poor and not up to code. Work was started 4 months late and was not finished/contract not fulfilled, even though I paid in full. Was non-responsive and evasive, would never hire again. Had to hire someone else to redo the work. Am going to sue in small claims court to get my $ back. Very dissatisfied customer - avoid this business!!

I contracted with this company (CPR) to build a screened porch on an existing deck in December 2015 with a completion date of early January 2016. In March 2016, after many excuses, lies, and delays, I tried to get my deposit back and cancel the contract, but CPR was unwilling. Work finally began a few weeks later. It only got worse from there. CPR abandoned the work before it was completed and I spent several months trying to get them to return and finish without any luck. The work that was done was poor and unprofessional. The owner became elusive (surprise), and when I did get him, I got more of the same - lies and lame excuses. So after 8 months of calls, texts, and emails, I still didn't have an acceptable porch, and CPR was unresponsive and unconcerned. I hired a Structural Engineer who told me the porch was unsafe and not up to code. He called the work "shoddy" and said it showed a lack of skill and knowledge. In addition, there are several other issues in the CPR contract that were not fulfilled. I will have to hire someone else to bring the porch up to code and fix the numerous cosmetic problems. I will never allow anyone associated with CPR back on my property. Needless to say, I do not recommend this company, and if I could give a score lower than F, I certainly would. The owner recently showed up at my house unannounced after I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and went into my fenced back yard without my permission. He was loud and angry, used profanity, and called me obscene names. I called Durham police and reported him. I'm sure he will respond to this review with more insults and excuses. This is an unlicensed business with a dishonest and unethical owner. Buyer Beware! Mr. Rizzieri's response to my previous review is complete fiction. We're all entitled to our own opinions but not our own facts. First, the previous paint job was adequate but not great. I have noticed several window sills and trim poorly painted, his painters painted over rotten wood instead of replacing it, they cut down a tree (and maimed another one) without my knowledge or permission, and tore several window screens that he never replaced. Plus, he didn't honor an advertised Angie's List discount on his website. As for the porch, if his carpenter supposedly corrected all the problems, why did a Structural Engineer report that the "shoddy" work wasn't up to code? I was told later by the county that a permit was required, although Mr. Rizzieri assured me it wasn't. He had no idea what my budget was, I didn't run out of money, nor did I ask for anything free. I was actually very pleasant and showed incredible restraint and patience FOR 8 MONTHS with all of them, as I wanted the contract fulfilled and the project finished (neither of which happened). The person living in my house at the time was not my 'partner' - Mr. Rizzieri is very homophobic. There was never any snow or ice that caused delays (work didn't even begin until spring) - he loves to use the weather as an excuse not to honor his commitments. The first carpenter walked off the job and quit after a dispute with Mr. Rizzieri over $. I did hire his supervisor/replacement to fix the problems Mr. Rizzieri refused to, but he took my deposit and disappeared without doing the work just like his boss. This man and his employees are just shady and dishonest. I contacted the BBB and the Attorney General about him, but he has now gone on the down low and is avoiding their inquiries. If Angie's List or anyone else knows his 'new' address and phone#, please post it. I guess the next step is small claims court. I encourage anyone who has been cheated by Mr. Rizzieri to contact the Attorney General's office as well - they are very attentive to consumer complaints. If you hire this lying thief and it ends badly, don't say I didn't warn you...

    Dream Spaces LLC
Workers were very nice but nice does not build a good room.  Only one member of the crew had any real experience.

Hung a door improperly so there is a 1/4 gap at the bottom.  Fixed it 3 times but gap remains.  Drywalling was sloppy.  Fixed that 3 times but many flaws remain.  Biggest problem is the rain gutter.  It is installed with a slight pitch the wrong way so that it does not drain into the downspout and then overflows at the point where the seam is now sagging.

Dream Spaces has refused to reinstall the gutter properly and wants to put a second downspout at the other end but that is not doable according to 3 other gutter contractors and an engineer.  There is no place to secure support for a second downspout and it would also ruin the view for which we paid 47k.  In addition, the proposed "solution" does not conform with the plans submitted to the City for permitting and for our approval.  The City Chief Building Inspector has verified that the gutter is not pitched properly.

At the end of the day, and 47k later, we have a faulty door, crummy drywalling, and a rain gutter that overflows at the low sag point.  Yes, they used a seamed gutter... a major no no on a relatively short run.  They claim they have met their responsibility by offering a non workable remedy that flies in the face of accepted construction practices for the installation of rain gutters.

Dream Spaces has refused to reinstall the gutter properly sighting a design factor in the Four Seasons Room that won't allow for pitch yet it IS pitched, but, the wrong way.  Once he had our final payment, true to form with bad contractors, Dream Spaces showed their true colors as a typical shyster who is incompetent at their craft.  The only thing they seem to be good at is making weak and ridiculous excuses and offering "solutions" that do not conform to accepted best practices for construction.

They  failed their final  inspection due to obvious code violations that they tried to get away with and the City had to call them back even after the final to fix other code violations.

All in all, just anotther  incompetent contractor in the sunroom business.   It should be noted that the owner of Dream Spaces in not a licensed contractor although he likes to pose as one.  He has a qualifier hidden in the background.

Ironically, the fix for the gutter is pretty inexpensive so we will have it fixed and then seek comensation through the court system.  Do yourself and your wallet a huge favor and avoid this company like the plague.

The only bright spot was the electrical company hired as a subcontractor, Harte Electric, out of Angier.  They did a bang up job and were great people too.  We hired them to do some unrelated work and will be posting a glowinfg review for them.

The finished product is very nice.  Strong and solid while still being attractive.  Scott began the project in Nov 2014 and got the structure assembled in a week or so.  I wanted to stain the wood of the structure before Scott installed the screening, but the staining couldn't happen until the weather warmed back up in the spring.  Scott was very understanding and flexible and came back to finish out the project in April 2015.  He did a careful job that is well-engineered and assembled and was open to design suggestions from us.
We contacted roughly 8 contractors about building this screened enclosure on our deck.  All of them were in the "screened deck" or "general contracting" biz.  None of them had ever built anything like we were asking (and indicated that no one had ever even asked for anything like this before).  All but Scott said it either couldn't be done or that they didn't want to even try.  Scott got our vision right away and worked up elevation drawings quickly that matched what we had in mind.  For this alone I would recommend Scott if you have a project that everyone else says is crazy.

    Aluminum Company of North Carolina

The Aluminum Co of NC made our screened in porch into a beautiful sun room.  The slider windows are beautiful and energy efficient, the "knee wall" below the windows matches the ceiling and trip above the window, and they even did a wide window ledge so our cats (and our small dogs) can walk around higher up and see out just as they did before.  The workers cleaned up every day, leaving nothing behind.

We now have a room we can use most of the year that gives us the outdoor feel w/o actually being outside in the elements.  We enjoyed sitting in our sun room when we had the recent heavy rains.  We could enjoy the weather from a different perspective!

Bob did a great job on our porch and was present on site almost every day. He was willing and able to incorporate my design ideas, such as the horizontal railings and extended "shelf" around the perimeter of the porch. The project was delayed a bit due to weather, but Bob was always communicative about how things were progressing. We love our screened porch and would love to have Bob do some work on our front porch in the future.

    Harland Windows & Siding
Everything went as expected.  The roof was done in one day with minimal disruption.  Harland himself, came over afterwards to make sure everything was cleaned up appropriately.  He swept our yard with a large magnet to make sure there were no stray nails, etc.
The gutters were installed the next Sunday and all went well with that too.  The only issue is, for the gutters, we were told it would take about two and a half hours and it actually took six. Again, Harland came out to inspect the work and make sure everything was cleaned up.
For both the roof and the gutter installation the workers were professional and pleasant.

Exceptional job. From the first day we started drawing up the plans to the final coat of paint. Detailed throughout the way. Gary's crew was punctual and focused. They held to their time schedules and their rotation between each task went like clock work. Great quality and detail over and beyond our expectations.  No short cuts taken. Our new favorite part of the home. You cannot go wrong with Garuda.
