    Chapel Hill Dental Group
I've been a dental patient here for over a decade. The dentist and dental hygienists are top-notch! I always feel that special care is taken to make sure that my teeth are thoroughly examined. The dental cleaning is superb and not painful. My teeth always feel great and look nice after a visit! I appreciate that the dentist does not insist on doing unnecessary things such as replacing my old fillings with new stuff. He lets me know that the old childhood fillings are still doing a great job and that there is no reason to change them up at this time.

Dr. Sadri is very friendly and knowledgeable. She makes the dentist experience a positive one, and really works with you on scheduling and payment. Her office staff and dental assistants are all professional and friendly as well. I have had a crown and several fillings done here, as well as a custom-fitted night guard. She has exacting standards for fitting and work quality. I highly recommend her!

    Clifton, Dr. Thomas S.
Fantastic. I avoided going to the dentist. I was afraid and didnt know any. I did my internet homework and found Dr Clifton. He is patient, and knowledgeable. I didnt want a big corporation. I wanted a local dentist. I wouldnt go any where else. I found the right one.

    Leech, Dr. Thomas A.
Went fine. A bit more expensive than I expected. I had been visiting a dentist every 6 months in IL for 5 years prior to moving to NC 1 year ago and had no issues. I did not expect to hear I needed any additional services beyond cleaning every 6 months. I was told I had periodontal disease.

    Pyle, Dr. James L.
The actual dental work I had completed was of good quality, but I have very serious concerns about the ethics of the staff. Their main focus seemed to be on "upselling" me on expensive dental work, to the point that this was a sizable amount of every visit that occurred. Continued pressure to buy a night mouthguard out-of-pocket because I "might" grind my teeth based on minor existing damage. Only when pressed did they ever admit there is no real way to tell if it is still occurring or happened decades ago. I've had one cavity in my entire life and no major dental problems beyond needing braces as a kid, but grew suspicious when Dr. Pyle started finding new ones every time I went in and wanting to drill immediately each time. The front desk staff are deliberately underhanded about it and actually called to schedule a "visit" that I thought was for my routine cleaning (which I was booked, but took for granted that it was not) and only halfway through scheduling found out it was for a service I had declined last time. At one point, they actually started by working backwards from what my max insurance benefit was to instruct me what I could have done. General dentistry has some major problems in general right now (diagnosing cavities is pretty unreliable - read the research), so this practice seems to err on the side of what benefits them financially. In conclusion - reasonably competent dentist, but one with (in my opinion/experience) extremely questionable ethics. Plenty of other options available. I will not be returning.

    Tapper, Dr. Michael A.
Dr. Tapper is very thorough and is conscienceless about making sure there is no pain. Prices may be higher than some dentists but it is worth paying a bit more for my peace of mind. There is no payment plan and they are not in network for my dental insurance so expect to pay up front.

    Ter Avest, Dr. Jerry H.
In terms of his professionalism and the service he provides, I think he is at least an A, but he is expensive and he does not mess with insurance. So, that makes it kind of tough if you have dental insurance and he does not really take it. We may even look for another provider because of that even though we are very satisfied with his service. He does not do the insurance thing. They got me in on-time for my appointment. His bedside manner is exceptional. They took care of business. I would probably not use him again because of the insurance situation.

    Clifton, Dr. Thomas S.
All the staff was exceptionally friendly and the appointment was right on time twice in a row. They did a very complete exam and explained everything that was going on. This has been my consistent experience twice in a row and I will certainly be returning in the future.

    Tapper, Dr. Michael A.
I had a great experience with Dr. Tapper's practice--something I don't say readily since I'm a dental-phobic.  His receptionist was very welcoming and efficient, and the dental hygienist friendly, gentle, and thorough.  Dr. Tapper had a very nice manner and was extremely informative--and didn't rush me into new work! Then...two days later, I broke a crown.  They were able to work me in on short notice.  The process went extremely well (again that's saying something since I get high anxiety about dental procedures).  Again, Dr. Tapper was comprehensive in his explanations, talking me thru each step in the process.  The temporary crown I have is the best I've ever had installed (and I've had many).  I am not nearly as nervous about getting the permanent crown as I thought I would be.  I've found a new dental 'home' and recommend their practice without reservation.  I give them top marks!

    Clifton, Dr. Thomas S.
Dr. Clifton and his fantastic staff saw me quickly when I lost a
filling, exposing the tooth to the potential for more damage (read wait
to long and now you need a crown). As always, Dr. Clifton was warm and
caring. He took the time to make sure nothing else significant was going
on with my teeth. I always look forward to my visits as I really enjoy
everyone in the office. You can't go wrong with Dr Clifton.
