    Perfectly Frank Handyman Services
Frank Milo required $550 upfront, out of the approximate $900 total estimate, which I paid. Then he did not show up at the times initially agreed upon, indicating morning hours were not possible due to care for sick animals, even though he knew repair work had to be done in morning hours due to tenant work schedule. I agreed to allow $100 for time spent to go to home to review repair needs. Frank repaid only $200 of the $450 due me. i gave him at least 6 months to repay me for work he did not do at all. He has not repaid me.

    Perfect Choice Renovations
I am extremely meticulous and Paul matched my level of detail with a smile. We had to alter the design several times on paper; he was willing to nicely offer suggestions that made much more sense and ultimately came out great. Luckily, his experience helps him "think out of the box" and his integrity allows him to be very particular about his workmanship. I plan to have him back to do more jobs around the house, both inside and out.

We had a fantastic experience with -- and now highly recommend -- Paul Pelis, owner of Perfect Choice Renovations. He's already completed three projects for us (see below for details). He'll actually call you back (!) and meet you for quotes and work when he says he will -- or he'll communicate if something has changed. He's meticulous with details and with his work, which is exactly what we wanted. His is now our go-to company for home projects and repairs. We highly recommend Paul Pelis and are happy to tell you more!

It went very well; Paul is a man of integrity. He shows up when he says he will and went out of his way one morning, very, very early, to accommodate the electrician coming at 8 AM. I didn't ask him - he offered. He is pleasant to have on the property, and I look forward to having him do some projects in my own home.

Hands4Hire Handymen & Weatherization Experts Inc
While the owners of this company are good to deal with, the handyman they sent out was unable to finish the job. Part of the problem may have been the front entry-way door itself. I asked for the door to be repainted or re-stained. The handyman suggested restaining but that did not go well at all. It may have been the grain in the wood but, even after considerable sanding, the wood would not take the stain well. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on this. The reason for my lower grade has to do with the install of the interior closet door. I took measurements of the door, went to the local home improvement store and picked the closest match to the existing door. Proper installation would require some sanding, preferably with power tools plus install of new hardware. The handyman did not have the proper equipment to sand the door or to install the hardware. He manually sanded the door and used a chisel to rout out the area necessary to install the hardware. He was unable to complete this job and I ended going with a different company. In fairness, I paid for 8 hours of labor. I think overall it ended being around 14 hours. I was not billed for the extra time.

    Thomas Home Improvements & Remodeling
Mr. Thomas contacted me very quickly and professionally to let me know he would be able to help me with this work after the first of the year. Unfortunately, I could not wait because of my lenders demands for repair to complete the financing of the house purchase. Since I was in a terrible rush, I had to hire an overpriced handyman to "fit" me into his schedule to complete this "rush" job. This was no fault of Mr. Thomas, and I plan to use his services in the future with other projects I need done within a normal time period. I appreciate his frankness and honesty- that's the type of person / company I would love to do business with!

House Doctors Handyman of Lake Norman
My 16'x28' deck needed to have all of the under-deck support structure power washed and stained prior to having new composite deck board and railing installed above it. Carl from House Doctors of Lake Norman did the actual work. On day one he showed up on time and got right to the task of washing the under-deck structure of my fairly large deck. Previous to House Doctor coming, I had my deck contractor strip off all the old wood surface boards, railings and lattice that would be replaced  in the renovation. At the same time, my deck builder also added any new wood support, posts lattice framing, etc. that would be needed for the new composite materials. I did this in advance of House Doctors so that when Carl started his work everything that needed to be stained would be in place.Carl took his time and pressure washed the joists, posts stair stringers, gate and all wood surfaces from just about every possible angle and did a through job, so much so that the wood looked like new. He also did a complete inspection of the joists and other areas under the deck to fill and patch any carpenter bee holes in the structure using steel wool and wood putty.

After letting the wood thoroughly dry as planned, Carl returned, on time to stain the deck, I chose to purchase the stain myself and was able to save 40% off regular price on Sherwin-Williams Super Deck solid stain during one of their sales. Also, consider using a water-borne (latex) stain instead of a semi-transparent. Solid stain will wear more like paint and last much longer than semi-transparent before it has to be renewed. For my purpose, the solid stain was the obvious best choice. It took about six plus hours for Carl to stain everything completely. We planned for two gallons of stain, but I purchased three gallons and every last bit was need. I was a little anxious about this job because House Doctors was new to this area, but after seeing the complete job start to finish, I now am confident that I made an excellent choice in picking the company for the job I needed to have done. Gwynna? and Sherri in the office were great on follow through and follow-up regard my project and Carl did an excellent job for me. Very satisfied, would highly recommend giving the Handyman company a try.

Ken was amazing and I completely trusted him doing work in my home without me being there.  I was very happy with Ken and will absolutely call on him in the future when I have any hangman or electrical needs.
