The project took less time than originally estimated, and so he charged me less than the price he had quoted over the phone. He was friendly, professional, and clearly a man of integrity.     River Bend Studio
    I had a few minor repairs done at River Bend and was quite satisfied, so I was confident that if Mr. Flowers felt he could convert my antique bed from a full to a queen, it could be done. And it was, beautifully. He added ���wings��� onto the feet of the headboard and footboard to make the bed wider, and it looks seamless, like it was always part of the bed. He also made new, longer, side rails to make the bed longer. All the new wood was finished perfectly to match the original wood of the bed. I could not be more pleased with the end result.

    ANGEL UPHOLSTERY
    Poor. The ottoman had to go back immediately because the hem was too short and the pleats were poorly done. The workmanship on the chairs was pretty shabby as well. When they brought the ottoman back, they had to do some work on the chairs in home. Next door neighbors had wicker furniture cushions recovered and had to send them back too.

    HERITAGE PIANO TUNING & SERVICE
    We spent nearly $400. I think I am going to give them a ?C?, because of the pricing. I thought it was just too much money for the service provided. The next day the key was broken and after spending $400 he didn?t come to repair the broken key. 

    I just think he should have come back for that last key the next day. I really kind of just felt a little bit kind of ripped off. I didn?t like the way I felt. When something else went wrong the day after, he didn?t offer to come back unless we were going to pay him. A professional would have done it.

    Bryan Neve Piano Tuning and Repair
    Wonderful as usual. We had a house fire and the piano was moved. The piano was more out of tune than usual but when he left it was perfect. He also increased the frequency of service to 6 months to check and see if it holds tune after the heat and the move from the fire. It pleases us that he keeps the schedule so we do not have to.

    When Mr. Angel came to give me an estimate, he said he could have the sofa reupholstered by Thanksgiving but the fabric, which I'd ordered online, hadn't arrived. I was a little concerned that the job wouldn't be finished before Thanksgiving but as soon as the fabric came, the sofa was picked up. It's two weeks until Thanksgiving and the sofa is in my condo--looks fabulous !!!!

    Finish Pros representative came to the house and gave us an estimate, we arranged a mutually convenient time for them to pick up the tables and when they delivered the refinished tables a few weeks later, we were very happy with the results: beautiful finish, great color tone and friendly people. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

    Well-Loved Piano
    I got $99 for $230 piano tune. My piano is 100 years old and sounds haunted, but I wanted to get a professional opinion on it.  They had a good website for scheduling, and information about what to expect for pianos which might need extra work based on last tune date - also they provided good feedback on the summary I sent them in the notes when purchasing the deal.
    Technician was profesional and very competent - he gave us the bad news - but he did what he could in the time he was here then wrote up a detailed report in the online system they have for this - very nice system.  I don't know - their prices might be higher than what you can find by more free lance operators - but the quality of the work and interaction are worth it.

    DECORATOR'S SHOWCASE
    Roy & Linda were very professional from the start. They answered emails & phone calls quickly. They arrived for an estimate when they said they would. Their quote was on par with other jobs I 've had done in my home. They quoted me the fabric amount I should get during that visit. They returned to pick up the chair cushions. Their turnaround time was very reasonable (2-3 weeks). It turned out to be a bit longer b/c they had to special order an extra long foam piece for a very long window seat cushion. They even went out of their way to help me with the seat cushion b/c I didn't order quite enough fabric. They had to really use their sewing & measuring skills to make it work with what I gave them. They dropped off the finished products & were quick & efficient from start to end. Working with them was a true pleasure! They take pride in their work, have an honest work ethic & do an excellent job. I am thrilled with my new custom pieces! You will not be disappointed!

    Kitchen & Bath Galleries
    We thought this was a full service company, and used the KB Galleries in Chapel Hill.  However, it became clear that this is a group that primarily sell things, but they don't truly design spaces, or have expertise in putting a kitchen together.  A simple example - the designer we worked with incorrectly measured the size of our refrigerator 3 times.  He would also forget to order pieces that would delay installation.  His schematics did not reflect the final dimensions of the cabinetry (eg a space that was designed to house cookbooks ended up being only 8" tall).   When we asked for opinions or options for many things normally found in a kitchen (eg sinks), the designer told us to google them or go on amazon.com and find ones we liked and buy them directly.   We also had a horrendous experience with Absolute Stone.  We chose a countertop from this vendor, who was part of KB Galleries list of providers.  However, Absolute Stone's countertop templating did not take into account a wall that was not square. But at the same time, we were told by KB Galleries that unsquare walls are very common in houses - so it's unclear why an experienced vendor would not consider this. At any rate, this improper templating resulted in the counters being at an angle to the stove, leaving large dark wedges of space on either side of the stove.  It also resulted in the stove being placed at an angle to the wall.  Rather than being our advocate, and helping us get the counters templated correctly, our KB Galleries designer tried to solve the problem (to our horror) by suggesting jerry-rigging metal pieces to cover these wedge-shaped spaces.  Because Absolute Stone was going to charge us over $9000 to re-do the countertops, and they threatened that they would damage all the cabinetry and tile backsplash in the process, we resorted to having our contractors tear down the installed cabinetry, hood, and tile backsplash and re-plumb the wall in order to use the countertops as-is and fix the problem.  This was done at our additional expense - there was never an offer of compensation.  When we suggested that there should be, as the countertops were not templated correctly the first time, we were treated to a email tirade of how good they all are, how we don't understand how things work, and how our values are not aligning with theirs.  On the appliance side, we purchased a Uline refrigeration system from KB Galleries.  The first unit looked like it had been dropped and was not working properly (misaligned doors, glass coming away from the frame, feet that would not raise and lower, and large grinding and whining sounds from the motor).  We were told by KB galleries that the customer always gets a better response from the manufacturer than they do, and they put us in the middle of getting the unit fixed.  After three separate service visits, when it was determined that the unit was not able to be fixed, a second unit was installed that didn't cool on one side and overcooled on the other.  At this time, KB Galleries completely abandoned us and left us to contend with the manufacturer and a local contracted repair shop (which has been a nightmare - we have taken an additional 3 days off work to get the unit fixed, and it is still not working...this saga continues).   Finally, we provided KB Galleries with a budget up front, and assumed that they were keeping this in mind as we were selecting our options.  Only at the end of our selection process, when some of the ordering had already occurred, did we find out that the budget wasn't being considered at all, and that in fact we had gone overbudget.  SInce the selection process had been about 2 months in length, it was too late to try and re-select all of our options and needed to spend this money, along with the extra money to fix the wall.  Overall, this should have been a joyous experience, and it turned into a nightmare - 6 months and counting.  We would not recommend KB Galleries to anyone who is interested in a full-service kitchen remodel.  They were not accountable, were not our advocates, and rose to only a mediocre level of excellence and attention to detail.
