    ProAssist
ProAssist (Raymond) arrived promptly, worked quickly, and did high quality work. The project took less time than originally estimated, and so he charged me less than the price he had quoted over the phone. He was friendly, professional, and clearly a man of integrity. I would definitely hire him again.

    River Bend Studio
I had a few minor repairs done at River Bend and was quite satisfied, so I was confident that if Mr. Flowers felt he could convert my antique bed from a full to a queen, it could be done. And it was, beautifully. He added wings onto the feet of the headboard and footboard to make the bed wider, and it looks seamless, like it was always part of the bed. He also made new, longer, side rails to make the bed longer. All the new wood was finished perfectly to match the original wood of the bed. I could not be more pleased with the end result.

    Finish Pros
Finish Pros representative came to the house and gave us an estimate, we arranged a mutually convenient time for them to pick up the tables and when they delivered the refinished tables a few weeks later, we were very happy with the results: beautiful finish, great color tone and friendly people. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

    Specialized Refinishing Co.

A piece of the non-skid finish flaked off of our 10 year old tub exposing 2-3 inches of rusted enamel.  My husband used a kit from the hardware store to patch it.  The end result was very clumpy and had a bad odor that just got worse when it was cleaned. The owner, Will, called me back the same day I submitted a quote request.  He was very friendly and the quotes were reasonable. He was able to schedule the repair within a week.  This was a pleasant surprise since it was right before Thanksgiving. Alex, the technician came this afternoon to do the repairs.  He was on time, friendly, professional & did a fantastic job repairing our tub. The area he repaired & painted looks great. We would use Specialized Refinishing again!

    Bryan's Onsite Touchup and Repair
Richard Bryan is a very unusual person who clearly LOVES furniture and restoring it.  He did an amazing job of getting out a not insignificant amount of printer ink that had spilled on an old pub table and then refinishing the table so that the table top matched the base and likewise the two big chairs.  While the refinishing was less than perfect on some of the edges and undersides, the overall work was very good and we were thrilled to have our "ruined" (by ink) table restored to a beautiful piece. The price was half what another company had estimated and the other company had assured us the ink would never come out.  The down side is that Richard is very slow in doing projects and not always good at returning calls.  If you can live with slow turn around, then this is a person to consider for restoring your furniture, especially if it's a complicated job.

    Furniture by Lowell
This company was very responsive.  They returned my call promptly and scheduled an estimator to visit us within a few days.
The price was very fair.   A week later they arrived to fix the damage.  This was done in about 1.5h.  We were very pleased with the quality of workmanship -  the damage repair really was not noticeable.  Very happy with the experience.  Would not hesitate to use them again.

    Carolina Furniture Restoration
I phoned Brian about a table repair. He did not contact me first. He asked me to e-mail photos which I did. I e-mailed back in about a week asking for the estimate. He responded he had to price out the wood cost. No response to date, October 12, 2014. It was important to get an estimate for repair on the table to turn into moving company that damaged the table. Frankly, I am not confident in his ability to complete the job properly. He should have observed the table in person to decide what he had to do, don't you think?

    Finish Pros
Excellent workmanship!  Wonderful service from every person I dealt with (front office scheduling pick-up & drop-off, delivery persons, and Ben, who came out to provide estimates).
We're so pleased with all three items!  Thanks so much!

    Furniture by Lowell
Lowell completely refinished 2 antique bed frames for me - one required significant rebuilding and both needed to be completely sanded down and restained to match their original finish. The job took a significant amount of time and we had a miscommunication about cost at one point, but he honored the price quoted and did an amazing job. Thanks to his meticulous work we will now be able to use these beds for at least a few more generations.

    Carolina Furniture Restoration
Brian came from Morrisville to my house in Chapel Hill and gave me a reasonable estimate range of $900 to $1200. Considering he did not yet know how much was missing, I thought a $300 difference between high and low estimate was very understandable. He carried the armoire pieces away. I was in a transition period between living in Chapel Hill and moving to Silk Hope so I asked Brian to not start work immediately (essentially I was asking him to get the parts out from underfoot until I was ready). Once I was settled and ready I let him know and he completed the repairs within my desired timeframe. He arranged for delivery to my home in Silk Hope and included delivery as part of the charge. I now have a lovely armoire. I know that he had to replace one of the prominent top front corners which had rotted but I forgot which one and I cannot tell which from looking at the finished piece - what more can you ask for in a restoration? There were some options in how to restore it since a couple of modifications had been made in the very distant past. Brian explained the earlier modifications and consulted with me on what to do. I am very pleased.
I've never had something like this done before so I have no pricing experience to compare. However, I have done some MUCH simpler refurbishing projects and know enough to confidently say this job took a lot of skill and a lot of time so I'm pretty sure his charge was very fair.
Brian is also easy to talk with which also helps.
I am planning to use Carolina Furniture restoration on another smaller project in the near future.
