    I have never had to sit long before my apt. started. They have a great process that makes you feel you are working threw your exam (the wait for the drops kick in to varied eye testing rooms). The doctors and associates are very pleasant and professional. All my concerns are heard and discussed. And even though I do not have Glaucoma right now, my doctor made sure we addressed the on going monitoring of it, as well as, my need for glasses so I can read now.

    I have kept returning to Dr. O'Neal due to the high level of competence I have perceived at each visit.  Although my case is uncomplicated (near-sightedness, mild astigmatism, and - lately - mild difficulty focusing at close range), the health of my eyes needs extra monitoring due to my family history of glaucoma and cataracts.  Moreover, my performance at work depends upon my ability to view a computer monitor for long periods of time without eyestrain.  Over the years, I've been very satisfied by the care I've received from Dr. O'Neal, and this occasion was no different.  He does an excellent job explaining what is going on with my eyes, and he is willing to provide additional technical detail.  The only negative aspect that I have noticed is that his manner sometimes seems a little rushed, but this is minor and has not detracted from the care I've received.
    What was notable about this visit was the positive and friendly atmosphere of the office.  The office administrator (who also was in charge of dispensing eyeglasses) was very personable and pleasant.  Everyone made me feel very much at ease, in contrast to some other medical practices that I dread having to go to because of the cold and bureaucratic way in which patients are treated.
    At this visit, I received a prescription for an updated set of bifocals, which I had filled at this practice.  The optician did a good job understanding the situations in which I use bifocals and tailored the bifocal line exactly right for my needs, which can be a little tricky.  She explained the alternatives for how the glasses could be made, and helped me to find a choice that resulted in no out-of-pocket cost on my vision plan.  The glasses arrived when predicted, and the fitting went well.  She made it clear that I was welcome to return if the glasses needed any further adjustments once I had become accustomed to the new prescription.
    Overall, I had a very good experience, and I would recommend this practice.

    Dr. Gross was very thorough in my exam and prescription. She listened very well to my needs and concerns, then made a very nice intro to the optician.  I ordered a new pair of glasses that came as described and am extremely happy with them.  Highly recommend this practice for eye care.

    Dr. Stone and the office staff spent a great deal of time trying to understand what I was looking for, and performed repeated testing to ensure the prescriptions were correct. In the end my needs were completely accommodated and I am 100% satisfied.

    Dr. Oneal is really smart but we just didn't gel - he had some expensive dry eye treatments that I didn't want to do and thus got a second opinion, which fixed my problem and cost a lot less.  His choice of contacts for me also did not work at all, and then they didn't order the replacement contacts on time, so I was out of luck for weeks.

    Not good. My vision in the corrected eye was blurry and unsatisfactory from the get-go. Dr. Fleming assured me that the operation was textbook good and there was no problem. After a few months, I consulted with two other ophthalmologists. They independently told me that the lens Dr. Fleming had inserted was not the appropriate type for me and that there was a considerable amount of scar tissue that was contributing to the blurry vision.

    I ended up having to have the lens removed and replaced by a specialist at Duke Hospital. He later told me this surgery was very tricky because the original lens was not properly attached and could easily have been lost into the vitreous. I now have to return to Duke for a laser surgery to correct the scar tissue.

    He's very pleasant, very honest, his pricing has always been good, he really cares about his patients and I've been with him ever since he opened his practice. We have a 30 year history. Scheduling was pretty good and he also accommodates emergencies.

    He did the followup, but then went on to prescribe glasses, which I'd not expected. I got the glasses made at my optometrist's, as I'd usually done. However, they did not provide good vision. The edges of each figure were blurry. Made new appointment with Dr. Dornic to correct that problem. He listened courteously to my problem, re-examined my vision, and gave me a new prescription; but when I had the new glasses made, they still provided blurred vision. I have no idea whether the problem arises from Dr. Dornic's equipment or procedure, but something is not working properly.
    After a few months of hoping that I'd adjust to the new prescription, I found myself taking off my glasses when I wanted to watch TV, especially, but also when conversing with my wife and, sometimes, even when driving my car. Basically, my glasses were useful for reading and nothing else. I might as well have bought $1 reading glasses at a really cheap store.
    I described the problem to my optometrist by email and he agreed to examine my eyes and, if my insurance would not cover the cost, make it cost free. He tested my eyes, wrote a new prescription, showed me how the new one would affect my vision in comparison with Dr. Dornic's prescription, and I was amazed and pleased that I'd found the and quot;rightand quot; prescription.
