    Ben's Lawn Mower Repair
After having our lawn mower unsuccessfully repaired elsewhere, Ben took on the challenge. The turn around time was less than a day. Unfortunately the mower still wasn't running up to par. When I contacted Ben about the problem he drove to our house ( a 30 minute drive) to work on the mower with no additional charge.. It now runs as it should with no further issues. I will definitely be going to Ben for any future repairs.

Service was great. They have a friendly person to handle the equipment drop off. I asked to be called about the cost to repair whatever was making the unusual noise that we were hearing. They did call and indicated that the problem was minor.  Got the mower back the next day. Could not have asked for a better experience.  I will definitely use them for service in the future.

    Cary Mower & Saw
The sale of the mower to me went OK, I guess. But this review is more about Cary Mower and Saw in general. I find them rather unpleasant to work with. And this has been generally consistent throughout my experience with them over the 10 years I've lived near them. Whenever I go there to buy a part or call them on the phone to ask a question, I get the impression they really would rather not be dealing with me as a customer. I always feel unwelcome there. The latest event, the one which prompted me to write this review was when my son called them on a Saturday to ask what type of hydrostatic fluid should be used in the drive system on that $1200 mower, since it wasn't listed in the owner's manual. They told him that they didn't know, and that he'd have to call back during the week, because they would have to call a Honda representative who wasn't available on Saturdays. I called back to ask why they couldn't simply answer his question. I got such a tangled web of conflicting stories about whether they knew what type of fluid to use or not, and what fluid it should be, that I finally gave up trying to get them to make sense. I'm pretty sure the answer was simply, and quot; It's Honda hydrostatic fluid, which is sold in a quart bottle.and quot; As best I could determine from their conflicting answers, there is only one kind and they sell it. It was a simple question with a simple answer. Yet they turned it into a very unpleasant experience for both my son and me. I spent nearly $1200 on that lawn mower. The least they could do is to pleasantly answer simple questions about its maintenance for us.

    Precision Outdoor Power Equipment
Yesterday in trying to beat the rain and cut my grass, I hit a metal rod holding a landscaping rail and broke the flywheel key in my mower. PRECISION OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT was the only repair shop willing to help me with this repair considering that I had a replacement key, had removed the housing and all that was needed to be done was pop the flywheel off the shaft. I called early Saturday morning and spoke to them and was told to come in and they would pull the flywheel for me at no charge. This is a 2 minute job at most. This is in contrast to every other local lawnmower repair shop I talked with in and near Cary; each of these wanted to keep the mower 2-4 days and charge upwards of $30 for the job.. It actually took me much longer to drive to PRECISION OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT than to have the flywheel pulled. They were true to their word but did take $5.00 for the job.
Although I do the vast majority of my own servicing and work on my small engine power tools, I would not hesitate to take anything I could not repair to PRECISION OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT. Based on my interactions with them, I would recommend them to any one who requires service to their lawnmower or other small power equipment.

I was not home for the service...left the equipment in the back yard.  Everything worked perfectly after.  Much easier than carting equipment all over town! Would definitely use again!

Great ! Tim arrived right on time and fixed the problem i had with the mower not starting. He took the time to show me exactlybwhat the problem was and how he fixed it in case it reoccurred. While he was here I asked him if he could also sharpen the blade which he happily did. Just a great service from a great company. I will definitely use them again if needed.

You have to take equipment to them. That's fine. But the results were NOT.
The price was what they quoted.
They performed the work, as quoted.
Unfortunately, though the generator ran, when they were done with it, they had (1) broken the gas tank, such that it leaked all over the engine while running, and (2) the generator ran rough. Further repair (by another provider) led me to discover that the carburetor was never cleaned out.
I can NOT recommend this provider. Sure, it ran when I got it home. But it was worthless in that state. I found another provider to repair it, since I did not want to throw more money at it with a low chance of having the problem resolved. No thanks!!

The owner, Donald Gilreath, repaired the gas tank on my generator and did a full tune up, including a cleaning of the carburetor. Another shop (I will review them separately) had broken the gas tank (so it leaked while the generator was running) and did NOT clean the carburetor when they did a repair job.
A note: While the price might seem high, it's great to have the mechanic come to my house to do the work. I don't have to try to figure out how to get it to him. Further, it's great to have the job done right!! He had to order parts, which increased the cost of the repair and tune up. However, I am *VERY* satisfied with the service.

Better than I expected, the only hard part was finding them!   I will definitely go back there with my lawn mower in the future.   Everyone was nice, the mower was done before they said it would be, they called me to let me know, they were professional and gave me some idea of what it would come to, and their pricing was reasonable!

Very professional, honest and yet had a friendly small-town feel to his approach. Told me it would take a week, and they would call when it was ready. Also told me there would be a storage fee per day if left over 10 days beyond the pickup call date. They had a tuneup special of $37. Fantastic deal and when I picked up the lawn mower, it was clean.
