Funeral Home reviews in Cary

  • Albright Funeral Home was very professional and helpful to us during this difficult time. They worked with us to provide the services we needed but did not push anything on us that we didn't want. We got a price quote prior to engaging them, and the final cost was exactly what had been quoted. They allowed us to have a viewing for six hours, which we really appreciated as we had friends with very different work schedules who wanted to attend. I really do not have anything negative to say about the services that were provided. Unfortunately, dying is not cheap when you want to have an opportunity for friends and family to mourn with you with your loved one's body present, but we found Albright to be much more reasonable than other funeral homes in the neighborhood.

  • Having no referral for the funeral services for the untimely death of my mother-in-law, I turned to Wake Funeral. I could not have chosen a better funeral home, had I selected from among several. Britt Paynter, who handled the arrangements, was very professional, courteous, patient, and meticulous. He was quick to respond to phone calls, but was not pushy in even the slightest way. When we met with him to select from the various options and services one must select from, he put the concerns and the needs of the family first. He certainly did not, in the least, try to sell us any services, etc. which we weren't comfortable with, or which weren't necessary or appropriate for our situation.
The final viewing, held at the cemetery, was simply beautiful.
In addition, Wake Funeral gave us the option of having a death notice published in the News & Observer, and having her obituary published on their web site--all free of charge.

  • Using the 'send flowers' link on the Bridges-Cameron website, I sent flowers via FTD.  I was unable to attend the service myself but was told by several individuals, including family, that my flowers were not at the service.
After four frustrating phone calls and numerous e-mails with FTD, FTD advised that the flowers were delivered and signed for by Mary Jo Brewer at the funeral home.  I contacted Ms. Brewer who immediately took a defensive attitude and  told me that I was mistaken, those individuals that were at the funeral were mistaken, and family members were mistaken.  If the flowers were delivered they were there and she would show the receipt to the family to prove it...that was the only offer of satisfaction I was given.
While I am not sure about the quality of their other service, I would have to say, based on my experience, I would not recommend or ever do business with this company.

  • Services provided were very professional. Staff was responsive to our needs and provided everything that we asked. They even provided a meal for our family prior to the service. We gave the staff photos of my grandfather and they produced a DVD that was played during the visitation. My grandfather had been sick for a few weeks so we assumed we would need to have a closed casket, but when we came in for the first viewing we were amazed at how naturally restored he appeared. We were able to have an open casket viewing and it gave our entire family and many friends opportunity to say goodbye. Looking back, it brought much needed aid to our grieving process. We ate thankful for the services of Brown-Wynne in Cary.

  • They will take care of the cremation, burrying of the urns, purchasing of the cemetery lot, and purchasing of the stone markers. Also, obituaries are covered. They were able to do the designs of the mark stones that we wanted. I think they have offered a good price but we did not really checked on the prices of other companies. If we have have to pick for our children if they wanted to have their own, I guess I will go back to them.
