  • I went to BRD because their Cary office was closer to my house my long-time dermatologist. I read the mixed reviews on Yelp and Google, but elected to give it a try. I have to admit that I was really disappointed. The front desk staff aren't that friendly -- they're not rude, but just of disinterested and not the kind of greeting I'd expected. I showed up 15 mins early, but had to wait almost 30 minutes before I saw the doctor (15 mins in the waiting room, then 15 mins in the patient room). The doctor was professional and knowledgeable, so that went well. My real challenge has come in the weeks afterward. As part of my visit, I was written a prescription. I went to the Rx to pick it up, only to find that the doctor's office didn't file the insurance properly. It's been almost 3 weeks and I still don't have anything. Worst yet, I've had to call the doctor's office only to get the run-around that they'll check on it and call me later. I've yet to get a call back from the doctor's office. They must close early too, as my 4pm calls are going to a general voicemail box. I'd suggest you look elsewhere -- I'm certainly going back to my old doctor's office.

  • They told me it would be $25 because I just needed a skin tag removed. They told me not to pay my co-pay because it would be separate. Later they sent me a bill for my co-pay for $89. I asked several times before to make sure I understood that I didn?t need to pay the co-pay. I tried to call to work it out and straighten out and I always got a voicemail.

  • My provider, was a PA ( Ms. Blount) was excellent. She was knowledgeable, kind and lovely, overall. However the staff member, who barely introduced herself, and who put me in the room was extremely inexperienced and really needed to do some work on polishing her people skills ( I did mention this to the front staff member, who said they would pass along the information, and was empathetic)Also, the half paper gowns and paper sheets need to be either upgraded, or changed to white sheets or regular gowns, as they are ill fitting, and don't exude high end derm office. I am an RN myself, so I am very picky about my family's healthcare, and healthcare experience, in general. I was also extremely embarrassed during the office visit, as I was with my toddler and after being in a room for awhile, I realized I needed to do a diaper change, and the staff member who put me in the room, not only told me that they needed the room quickly, she also asked me if I would like to change my daughter in the car? I did not realize that they didn't have a diaper changing table in the bathroom, which should be a staple for any physicians office. She then offered to allow me to stay in the room to change my baby's diaper, but at that point I was so embarrassed I just wanted to leave. However, I was escorted to the aesthetician office, April,to finish my consult, who was very professional, but the staff member did not give me an expectation of how long I might wait. Again, I think this was just due to her inexperience, but in an office setting such as dermatology, that type of experience can make or break your visit. The entire visit was just under 2 hours, and with a toddler, was a tad too long. Overall, I would see the PA again, but if I met the same unimproved staff member, I'm not sure I would return for a third visit.

  • I chose Cary Skin Center to remove a carcinoma on my arm because they could preform the Mohs procedure. Dr. Flynn was the doctor. This was the most pleasant experience I've ever had at a medical office. The front desk staff are very nice and efficient. The medical staff were polite, friendly, professional, and excellent about providing information and answering all my questions. The procedure was successfully. I hope I never have to have another carcinoma removed, but if I ever do I'll go back to Cary Skin Center.

  • This was my first visit with Dr. O'Rourke and I am pleased so far. It's normally difficult to get an appointment as a new patient in this office. However, there was a cancellation, and they were able to get me in the next morning. Dr. O'Rourke was very personable and willing to fully explain everything she was doing and what the next steps might be. I was never made to feel that she had to rush off to the next patient. I am thrilled to have found a new dermatologist and plan to see her annually. (I had a very negative experience with my last dermatologist who was visibly annoyed that I asked questions and was clearly in a rush to get to her next appointment.) Based on my initial experience, I highly recommend Dr. O'Rourke.

  • Dr. Flynn was extremely knowledgeable and professional throughout the MOHS surgery procedure and all follow-up appointments.  I was very pleasantly surprised by how well my nose healed, and the staff was very caring and attentive.  I would strongly recommend going to Cary Skin Center if you need to have any cancerous skin removed to achieve the best results.

  • The doctors and assistants are great and I feel like we get good care there, but there is a super long wait (6 months!!) to get an appointment. It seems like they have too many patients for the size of the practice. I am going to stick with them for a little bit, but if the ability to get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time does not improve, I may have to look elsewhere. Two offices are in convenient locations, office staff is friendly.

  • I was seen by the PA instead of Dr. puente because I waited until November to make my appointment when everyone was trying to get an appointment before January 1 when all health insurance companies reset their deductibles to begin again. This was my fault, obviously.

    The waiting room was very busy. I waited 30 minutes or so before being called to the exam room. Nurse was very professional and congenial. PA was pleasant but I felt rushed. She gave me a sample of nail treatment which was effective. Check out was efficient.

    When I got home and read the PA's written statement about my visit I was surprised. The lesion she described wasn't in the location she stated.

    There are several dermatologists closer to home that have been highly recommended so I will not return to Raleigh dermatology

  • After a careful and thorough exam, I was given a clean bill of health. I have been seeing this provider for several years and have been evaluated and successfully treated for two different problems. The Dr Chiaramonti always gives me a detailed exam and explain any issues in detail.

  • My doctor there is Dr. Elvira Chiritescu and I really like her. She did a very thorough job and found several things that she felt that needed to be removed. When I went back to have those things removed, it went very well. I felt that it was a very nice office and the staff were very friendly and helpful. She really knew what she was doing because she could look you over so quickly and just know right away if something is abnormal or not. She's very knowledgeable in her field and very thorough in assessment of your whole body.
