House Painting reviews in Burlington

Freds Painting Inc The Golden Brush
The service here was great! We had the house repainted and power washed the sidewalk and stairs; it looks brand-new. The construction work was also well done. We appreciated a roofing patch that came up during the job. Response time and coordination were a dream. Thanks, Fred's!

Jeremy was responsive in returning my call & getting out to my house to do the job. Unfortunately the overall quality & attention to detail was below average & much lower than expected based on Angie List reviews.  The painters showed up later than communicated both days (45 minutes).  Failed to do any prep even after I had spent an hour going over the job with Jeremy 2 days prior.  Came in & painted walls & then when I pointed out imperfections that looked bad (house was being painted to get ready to put on market), Jeremy asked (I thought he was joking at the time), "Oh, you want me to spackle?". I had done some prep for them (spackling, a little sanding, removing some wall plates & drapes) to help speed the process but told them I needed them to make the house look great to help sell it.  It took them 2-3 times to then fix spots that would NOT have been an issue had the prep been done correctly.
    Other issues:
Incomplete job done whereby I had to go back & fix parts of their work due to a remaining long ridge in the paint in one bedroom, large poor spot that did not get painted well on 3rd floor & cleaning up paint that had spilled onto floor vent in laundry room.
Jeremy painted part of kitchen which made it worse b/c didn't match the rest of kitchen. He told me he wasn't going to "charge me for it" then did charge his full time at end of 2nd day.
Completely skipped painting 2 closets in one of the rooms despite pointing these out needing to be done.
Left garbage from job that I cleaned up as well as drink/food garbage for me to throw away.
Left the first day & not one of the 4 guys remembered to put the lid on the 5 gallon drum of paint (luckily I saw this & did so the paint was not negatively affected nor did my dog get into it).
As part of the "painting time" on 2nd day, 45 minutes was clean up time. Was not aware this counted as the painting time. May have been my misunderstanding.
Bracket broken in son's closet. No offer was made to replace the bracket.
I asked Jeremy a question & he proceeded to answer it by literally rubbing off the texture from my textured ceiling. I was shocked & asked why he did that. He told me he could fix it. So then he proceeded to "fix it" but the texturing didn't match my ceilings & the color was off.  Not happy about this unprofessional action by Jeremy.
Had to touch up same spot a 3rd time that I again had to point out as not looking good in the laundry room. Jeremy touched it up with my roller & my roller cover then gave it to me to clean it.
Was not impressed with their work.  Opted NOT to have them finish the job. I had given them a talk on the 2nd day how we needed to get the job done correctly the first time so they didn't have to redo things which was a waste of time & resources.  Hired other painters with better attention to detail & offering a higher quality of service to finish the work.
The guys were all nice but I did not receive the quality of work I was expecting. The lack of professionalism was disconcerting as well. In some ways, it ended up feeling like the guys made additional work for my husband & me to fix & that is not how it should be when you hire a "professional" to come into your home & provide a service.
Can NOT recommend this company based on this experience.

We are no longer accepting new customers.

    1. Mr. Cook was pleasant to work with. He was attentive to details and kept me informed about the work progress. The painters were professional and did a good job. The washing of the house was through and done in a timely manner. I would call on them again.

    Gonzalez Painters & Contractors INC
Their initial estimate was clear and detailed, and was delivered promptly. It was the lowest of three we received, and the most detailed. They came when agreed upon, worked every day, and finished in a week. They were consistently polite and professional, and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. Overall, this was the best experience we have ever had with house painters. We will certainly expect to use Gonzalez Painters in the future.

    Triad Pro-Services Inc.
Painted neighbor's house (we look after neighbor, have power of attorney), neighbor is an older lady. We contacted Triad Pro Services to pressure wash the house, it took part of the paint off, Triad said they could paint the house for around $1000.00 more, including caulking windows and around doors.

Triad started the job on May 9th or 10th, but took a long time because they said they couldn't keep at it because of cloudy days, but they didn't come on the sunny days either. He also used a type of paint that they said was to be very good, primer and paint all in one, and they were going to roll it on to the siding, said it would take around 15 gallons of paint. We only saw 2 1/2 gallons used. It turned out looking like it was put on with a sponge, and they didn't paint the entire house. One of the painters said he didn't want to paint around electrical wires, one thing after another, so they couldn't complete the job, although Brian said several times they would get the job done. Spoke with Brian on May 13th, he said they would need to do 2 coats on the house, but didn't seem to want to finish. The 16th was the last day they worked, and we told them not to come back. Also, he quoted a price of $1000.00, and it was going way over budget, may have ended up costing $2500.00.

    Triad Roofing Services
Everything went GREAT overall- Traid Roofing by far at the best quote of (4) between $7,500.00 to $27,000.00 ; When Travis came by to look at the house, he didn't try to start selling me on his company and how great they were, as many companies had,.He genuiely listened to what I was telling him we we needing, and I told him what other companies had told me about needing to resheath the whole roof and the issues they saw., needing plywood on it all because the slats were to far apart in many places. Travis assured me that this wasn't the case and only a small part needed to be done like that.
Traid Roofing crew started work @ 9:00am on 4/9/12 and finished everything except for a few housekeeping things @ 8:30pm on 4/10/12
Their crew worked great together, showing great team work in getting all jobs done
We are very satisifed with Travis's work and following thru on everything he said he would do.
    Thanks Travis!!
