"
is the office manager. She is the one who came out and gave me the estimate. The company was very prompt, courteous, and accurate. They acknowledged" that they were the wrong service provider for me. They were very honest with me. I would use them again in the future if I fit into the expertise.

"Went very well overall. Guy was on time, his crew worked very hard removing the old gravel driveway, forming, and laying the new concrete. The only problem was the" concrete company showing up late, Guy had a hard time getting a supplier since it was a prime pouring day and the suppliers were overwhelmed. When the truck showed up, I think they were from
and had a long haul, the concrete was very hard to work with. Guy and his crew worked feverishly pouring and finishing because the concrete was setting so fast. There's a couple of lines that aren't quite straight but not really noticeable, I commend these guys for the great job they did under these conditions and I would recommend
& Sons. One last thing, I was impressed that they followed up 3 months later to make sure I applied a penetrating sealer which I had already done a couple of weeks previously. They're an old-school company that takes pride in their work.

If the state requires a contractor's license, then he needs to have a license in each state he intends to work in - plus state/local business licenses as applicable.

This does not mean there are not a lot of contractors who cross state lines without proper licensing - the penalties in may cases are not real severe and are just a fine, not criminal, so many take the chance.

As you say - argh  - many contractors are not really businessmen and have zero legal education, so many people get burned.

?

To overlay, with proper adhesion so it does not peel off, you first need to prepare the surface - typically heavy watercutting or sandblasting for concrete over concrete, or high-pressure presure washing and an asphalt (NOT water based cutback) adhesion coat before asphalt overlay.

Because of the prep cost, a concrete overlay commonly costs more than just tearingit out and replacing it, and if you are replacing it due to cracking and breaking up those cracks will almost always propogate or "reflect" through the new layer too with concrete. Ditto with asphalt overlay, though using a crack-stopper fabric can reduce (but usually not eliminate) that.

If just repairing ice melt/freeze thaw deterioration, a cementatious epoxy overlay can be used, though its life is less (normally) than new concrete. Usually used for limited areas like garage area pad, not entire driveways.

Asphalt overlays over somewhat deteriorated concrete can work well, but if not prepared and high-pressure (about 5000 psi or higher) cleaned to remove ALL deteriorated material, they can peel off because they stuck to deteriorated loose material rather than sound concrete. Again, can cost as much for a 1-1/2 to 2 inch overlay as for a 3-4 inch full replacement by the time you are done, because the prep work is labor intensive.

Even if this is just a surficial deterioration issue, I would talk to several contractors (site visit) about alternatives and let them bid both an overlay and a replacement (or whichever options they are inclined to bid on), then after getting opinions from all three and bids for all options, make your decision. I am pretty confident that total replacement will be both the most recommended and the cheapest, at probably about $2-4/SF for asphalt or 4-6/SF for concrete - commonly nearer the lower than higher range for most jobs and locales. If the overlay and replacement cost is pretty close,I would go with the replacement because overlays over concrete are always somewhat iffy as to how long they will last, especially concrete overlays.

For cost comparison, except in extreme freeze-thaw country, you can figure a concrete drive will last about twice as long as an asphalt one.

It was extraordinary and we were blown away with the work that they did. The contractor that is building our garage said he is going to start using them as well. We had a very complex job that needed a real concrete artist to be able to figure out all the angels, elevations, and degrees. They were just amazing and we were so lucky to have found them. All the tradesmen that have been working for us have made comments on the driveway. I cannot say enough about them and their skills were off the chart. We would never use anybody else going forward and they got the job done in about one week. They did everything from framing, compacting, grading, pouring, and made sure that all the drainage problems were accounted for. They stayed all day everyday with their team to make sure that everything was done perfectly.

In designing and constructing a valley gutter for my driveway
Burlington Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
did not take into account the slope of the road in combination with the slope of my driveway. So now I have a $6000 valley gutter that is useless. Their excuse? Public Works determines the elevations for the gutter so there was nothing they could do about it. When they found out that Public Works would only approve a valley gutter that would be ineffective they should have halted work and consulted me. Instead they kept going and now I have a $6000 valley gutter that is effectively useless. I trusted
Burlington Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
to solve a problem and instead they built a $6000 valley gutter that is useless to me and water will continue to stream down my driveway from the road. I would not recommend using this company.

I called to request an estimate, but reached their voice mail. I left a detailed message describing the work to be done, my name, address, and phone number. I stated the phone number twice, because I know it's easy to miss a number. I never heard back from them.

They did a perfect job. The price was fair and they did exactly what they said they were going to do. They were very thorough, efficient and even stayed while the concrete was drying to ensure no one messed it up.

We paid them the deposit of $500 and they came out did the framing. After that they stopped returning phone calls and did not complete the work. I am very disappointed and not only am I out $2500 the framing they did do was incorrect.

installed 2" of crushed base gravel and compacted it. He installed 3/8" rebar on 12" centers both ways. Drilled and installed dow pins into existing cement garage slab, and poured 4" of 4000 PSI cement , finished with a broom finish. The concrete was poured on a driveway area between two fences, leaving no gaps along either fence. The driveway looks great, even my neighbors commented on how good it looks.

We were very please with the work and professionalism displayed. Everything was done in a timely fashioned and the work was delivered as promised and when promised. This is very important to us as we are usually on a very tight schedule with little flexibility.
This was a challenging job due to the fact that the only access to the yard was through the house. Despite this,
Burlington Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his crew were able to pull it of without any damage to the inside of the house - although all of the materials had to go through there (sand, brick, concrete, tools, etc...)
We installed about 400 square feet of standard, hexagon brick pavers in the patio after the removal of a rotting wooden deck and had plastic piping laid for electrical cables underneath patio (for future landscape lighting)
Burlington Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
came by to inspect site, quoted price based on scope of work and we signed a contract with him that same day. 2 days later, work began and was completed 2 days after that. Were truly impressed.
the patio looks great, seems to be very solid with rebar fortified concrete edging and you can tell it was done very professionally.
Burlington Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
was quick and was on-site to manage the work from start to finish. He left work and material staging areas clean and undamaged and provided pictures of progressing work which was truly appreciated. He recommended installation of rain gutters and
was present for the final inspection.
All in all, it was a pleasure and we would most definitely work with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking to install pavers.

Mr.
Burlington Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
reassured us that he could remove our old concrete driveway that had sunken due to the fact that our original contractor buried trees from cleaning our lot and buried them under our driveway. Most of the time he was not present at the job-site. After numerous attempts to remove all of the buried trees, I finally called someone with a back hoe to remove the debris. Even though we informed him of exactly what was buried under our driveway (we had 2 forensic studies done) he would not remove the trees from our yard, saying that was not included. Once the dirt was hauled in and prepared for pavers, my husband HAD to take an entire week off from work to supervise the driveway construction because Mr.
Burlington Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
was NO where to be found. He had to physically show the work crew what needed to be done! The sidewalk edging kept coming apart and later we had the curve in the sidewalk fixed by another contractor. We called for more than 2 weeks trying to get this company to honor his warranty. He never returned our call, or repaired the driveway or sidewalk as stated in his contract. We have numerous "dips" in our driveway that hold water. I joined Angie's List to avoid contractors like this. My research later showed he had a "F" rating from another popular source. He also was not properly insured. Lesson learned. Homeowners beware.
